  1. That's a good call DD. I've been a bit worried about the direction of Demonland lately too and have tried to increase my contributions over the past week as a consequence . There's some very good posters out there who don't seem to visit much anymore.

too many dipshits peddling rubbish, thats why.

  2. Instead of taking on a challenge of helping to rebuild a club that has won 8 games in 2 years, you took the easy option.

You are frontrunners of the highest order, and dont have the guts to accept a challenge.

We dont need mentally weak players at our footy club.

    You are not men.

until MFC creates a culture of success on and off the field , '' good'' players will always bypass us for the carltons and essendons of this world. its been that way for a long time. dont blame warnock and prismall.

  3. another person that doesn't know anything about football. Hawthorn is in their premiership window now, so greens age is almost irrelevant as he could be the difference between winning a flag next 2 -3 years or losing them. same goes for O Keefe.

hawthorn won the flag this year without brad green ;)

  4. Just speaking to an MFC employee who happens to be a family friend.

Absolutely locked in that we will be sending Aaron Davey and pick 19 to Port Adelaide in exchange for pick 4 and Greg Bentley.

The other deal that will happen is minor but a bit of a surprise and that is Michael Newton going to the Bulldogs for their 3rd round pick.

i hope hes not the same family friend who gave you all your trade rumours last year? mc kinley, mc gregor , ray............errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  5. Based on my view and rumours abroad. Trades in bold compliment each other.

Aaron DAVEY and Brad GREEN to Port for PICK 4.

    or

Aaron DAVEY and PICK 19 to Port for PICK 4.

Paul WHEATLEY to Sydney for PICK 30.

PICK 30 and Daniel BELL for Adam THOMSON and Greg BENTLEY.

Jared RIVERS to Hawthorn for Mitch THORP.

    or

Brad GREEN to Hawthorn for MItch THORP.

That is 4 or 5 players traded out by us and is the maximum allowed (5).

So how did we end up?

    DRAFT PICKS 1, 4, 17, 19 (possibly keep), 35, 51, 68 FIRST 2 Selections - Watts and Vickery

Players IN - Adam Thomson, Greg Bentley and Mitch Thorp.

Players OUT - Aaron Davey, Brad Green, Paul Wheatley, Jared Rivers

If it panned out that way I would be stoked! Is realistic I think!

players in vs players out , we lose big time........wots the point?

  6. F*cking spot on bevan (chopper read anyone?)

those two COULD easily get a first round draft pick by themselves. they probably won't. but green and bell could get 4. if tarrant was traded for 8 and medhurst...then surely bell and green , and maybe 35 would surely get 4 IF PORT WANTED IT.

won't happen, greens 28yo and bell is no good

  7. Where will these players who want a new home end up?

    What I think;

    Seaby? Richmond

    Harris? StKilda

    Warnock? Carlton

    O'Keefe? Essendon

    Ray? Melbourne

    Green? Carlton

O'keefe and Green have home's but are fishing! Will they stay on the hook? Or will somebody snap them up?

I aint sure who else off the top of my head. Feel free to add a player who has left home!

please, no more soft players FFS !

  8. Brad Green is worth a top 10 pick on his own mate- i suggest you learn

15 other clubs fans have already stated they'd do that. Pick 5 for garland was accepted by bombers fans FFS.

you obviously as well have no idea about the trading caper

Brad Green for top 10 pick? Sorry to disappoint you mate but no one is going to trade away a top 10 pick for a 28 yo.

  9. It never ceases to amaze me how supporters can think that players who are borderline best 22 and are one bad year, or closer, to getting delisted are able to yield a pick such as 18 in a fantastic draft. The packaging of them together makes it even funnier. Crap + Crap + Crap = quality pick.

    Fail.

    finally someone makes sense

  10. Yes. I believe they are fishing for Didak too!

But if we are to be in the race for Pick 4. This is what I think we could offer!

Miller, Bell and Pick 19 for Pick 4 and 3rd round pick.

Miller, Davey for Pick 4 and Bentley.

Miller and Green for Pick 4.

Davey, Bell for Pick 4 and Bentley.

Davey and Frawley for Pick 4.

Davey and Green and Pick 19 for Pick 4 and Bentley.

Can any of these work? I would trade in a heartbeat!

not a big fan of Aeron Davey?........

  11. Ok.... if there are say three aspects to a player.. his ability to get it.. his decision making.. and disposal then its the latter two that for me are always the concern for Cam...His disposal MOST of the time is deplorable.... he's a @#!*% useless handball..and often undoes much good work by placing his so called footy mated into serious danger..as they say...with friends liek that!!

He , to me , has never matched his stand out stellar year of a few back. In reality I think he simply played above himself that year and thats the cause of much constrenation as we have expected more.. He simply isnt capable of it.

Have no doubt he seriously puts in...its his output thats debatable

    ditto.......

  12. I will guarentee you Melbourne will be the least active in trade week with only two possible deals

    Bentley to us

And Armitage to us for pick 19. they're the two i know of, and the club knows it wants to keep picks and not get recycled players if they are over 23. and most clubs won't be getting rid of any young under 23 talent.

Armitage to us for pick 19? Your dreaming  The saints took him with pick 8 and he showed a lot of improvement throughout the year and is going to be a great player . won't happen.

  13. For anyone thats interested, here's Colin Wisbey's draft profile of the player

    ---------------------------

    Adam Thomson (Sturt)

183/82 mid-age right foot (has other foot if nec).

*STYLE LIKE: Fairly pacy version of Simon Black

    *TRADEMARK:

    - Clean hands get under great pressure inside traffic then lightning, often look-away, feed straight to team mate in the clear.

    *SUMMARY ASSESSMENT, RECOMMENDATION:

    - Is defined by his ability inside traffic. Brilliant. Great hands - getting & delivering, typically inside traffic under great pressure, often look-away. Extremely clean, reliable & creative. Very rarely gets impeded from delivering an accurate feed. A Simon Black type with similar efficiency, more pace. The best hands, vision, decision-making and efficiency in-close that I have seen in the past few years.

    - I rate him very highly. In fact I have him at 8. He won't go that early but I expect him to go around early 2nd round. Definite AFL. If I had any pick after #7 I would take him with it ... in a heartbeat.

    *HURT FACTOR (Offensive/Defensive/Negative):

    - All excellent.

    *DISPOSAL:

    - Very high Hurt Factor, especially by hand.

    - Predominantly feeds.

    - Brilliant by hand - extremely quick, accurate and displays incredible vision. Dynamite. Also master of the accurate look-away feed.

    - Kicking is also quite reliable although not in the same league as his feeds

    - Good power and depth in his kicks.

    - Kicking style is reasonable, although he tends to fall back a fair way when he kicks. Fairly economical action.

    - Not a noted goalkicker but is reasonably reliable at goal without being a sure thing.

    *DECISION-MAKING, SMARTS:

    - Terrific inside traffic, especially centre bounce, even under the greatest of pressure. Clean to get, quick, clean, reliable and creative to feed off. Exceptional "6th sense" vision and quick decision-making response to same. In short, extremely efficiently creative.

    - Excellent poise. "Always" looks for an option.

    - Reads both play and ball very well. Roves the ruck contest and the spill well.

    - Officially only credited with only 3 HBGs for the entire U18 Champs but, by my definition of HBG being a possession gained under great pressure, a very high percentage of his possessions are HBG.

    - Very unselfish Occasionally too much so, looking for a team mate when he might be better advised to carry the ball or shoot for goal himself.

    - Never seems to lose his cool. Is controlled, no-fuss professional.

    *HANDS:

    - Very clean, all levels. Shines under great pressure and inside congestion.

    *OVERHEAD MARKING:

    - Not a feature of his game but he is reliable and has good judgement. U18 Champs stats have him at no contested marks out of 11 but that stat is not representative. He can be relied upon to take at least a 50/50 contested mark.

    *ATHLETICISM:

    - Good pace, although he seldom uses it and is not super quick. Not a noted ball carrier.

    - Very agile.

    - Covers plenty of ground yet doesn't look peak fit, just looking at his body. I suspect he has a fair bit of scope to harden his body and lift his fitness even further, perhaps even improving his already fairly good speed a bit in the process. Nevertheless he runs a game right out.

    - Good recovery agility.

    - Good reflexes.

    - Very good balance. When tackled, keeps his arms free and keeps his feet. Rides a bump well.

    - Evasion is good although he feeds off so quickly and doesn't often try to carry the ball, so it isn't on show very often.

    - Displays a huge unaided leap on occasions.

    *INTENSITY, ETHIC:

    - Covers a lot of ground and at good energy.

    - Attacks both man and ball well.

    - Fierce and effective tackler. Does often tend to throw himself to the ground with the tackle though. Does quite a few smothers.

    - Although first and foremost a play-creator, he is also very good defensively within traffic, especially centre bounce, often stifling an opponent's attempted clearance. I don't have a handle on his accountability in a flank role but he is certainly accountable to the nearest opponent.

    - Does the 1%ers eg will run in from 15m away to lay a very physical block.

    - Courageous.

    *CONSISTENCY:

    - Very consistent, both game to game and within a game.

    *AFL VERSATILITY:

    - Is a natural inside onballer, with better pace than those types usually have, so you would want to make the most of his attributes in that role. I think he can even play that role in his first year. He is gifted in that role. Other than that, could play anywhere down the flanks. Could potentially be a good AFL BP but you would lose the benefit of his superior prime attributes if you didn't play him onball.

    *SCI (SCOPE FOR CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT):

    - Normal.

    *QUERY:

    - Nothing of significance.

    *SOME STATS:

    - Stats summary '04 U18 Champs:

Averaged 16 disposals and 3.7 marks in his 3 games. (Best TD 19).

    Kicks to feeds: 18-29 (1:1.6).

Kicks long vs short: 9-4 (2.3:1).

Kicking accuracy: 5/18 ineffective incl 3 clangers.

Handball accuracy: 2/29 ineffective incl 0 clangers.

Total accuracy: 7/47 ineffective incl 3 clangers.

Gets own ball?: 20/47TD were HR. 3 HBG.

    S.P. clearances: 8 incl 7 BU incl 6 CBC.

    Tackles: 6

Marking: 0 of 11 were contested.

    *OTHER STUFF:

    - Reserves '04.

    - Had been listed as 180/78 but '04 DC measured 183/82

is he still lead singer of "screaming jets" ?

  14. If Carlton can't satisfy Freo re: Warnock I can see some variation of this happening...

    - Warnock to Dees

    - Griffen to Freo

    - Bell & 2nd Round pick to Adelaide

Then 3rd Round pick for Bentley ... considering not many have even heard of him he can't be worth that much

(especially if people are talking about a straight swap for Bell)

i thought it was fairly common knowledge that warnock wants to play at carlton
