I don't know whether Zomer would have got a game anyway this week considering it is Frankston and the 12/10 rule is in place. So a Sandringham player would have to come in for Sautner and if Zomer were to play it owuld be at the expense of a MFC listed player; perhaps Cheney or Warnock. Sautner got off so it doesn't really matter now anyway.

I'd say it'll be Jamar coming in to replace PJ.

Zomer was drafted and is being used as a key forward. Maybe you're thinking of Spencer who is tall enough and i reckon has a good future. Kicking as to be worked on but his tapwork around the ground are excellant.

How is he a [censored] or turd of a guy? Something wrong with a bit of self-confidence in yourself. A bit of belief that you are going to beat your opponent. And is it a crime to enjoy yourself while playing the game. Just because it is at elite level doesn't mean the kid can't enjoy himself. Absolute freak of nature and will easily be a 10+ year player and between 200-250 games. He's only 20/21 too, most guys this age can't dominate a game against any opposition. Morton is soft and not up to standard yet! If the dees play him Round 1 then they are definately going for a blood the kids approach. Valenti deserves a gig but unfortunately for him there's no LTI. Weetra should not play otherwise the seaon is over (if it isn't already). Frawley just really isn't that good either. He showed absolutely nothing last year. These players should be looked at come round 9,10,11 etc if/when the dees aren't looking that good for the finals and it's on to looking towards 2009. Wheatley should definately come in to fill that HB/W position as mentioned before. He's an experienced, talented and solid performer.

Not Gonna Happen

Weetra ended up playing one game for Sandy 1's towards the end of the year when injuries were at a season high for Melbourne and Sandy and he played about 15 minutes and was pretty ordinary. He would have wanted to have done alot from then to now to be anywhere near a game and i don't think coming out of his shell was the problem. It was more the fact that his basic skills (kicking, marking etc.) was pretty poor and he made bad decisions.

He's definately never played back and i think they took him in the PSD cos there was talk of another club taking him with either their PSD pick or a higher rookie selection. Just whispers i have heard.

You have got to be kidding! He had a decent year a couple of seasons bakc. He barely did anything this year and saying he would kick 60 easily is putting him up there with the Pavlichs, Lloyds, Browns etc. Pull your head in mate! A bit of inside opinion reckons that Neville is leading the pack out of him, Simpkin, Summers and Valenti. Not gospel but just an opinion.

Yeah anyone that goes to the National Draft Camp or a state screening is not allowed to train at an AFL club. I'll chuck it in the other thread too but this is why Stefan Martin from Sandringham is not training with Melbourne as he went to the state screening.

Im hoping Andy Lovell gives him a call and we get him down to Sandy. And im not being sarcastic at all in case you were thinking that.

I just cant believe some people are putting up there Round 1 best possible line-ups and they have him in it. Yeah, he could very well be a player in years to come. But he cant handle VFL level right now let alone the big boys. He's at least a few years off.

Summers is around the 180 cm mark, maybe a tad taller. MIdfielder who works hard and his real tough. Excellant kick of the footy too i reckon and a leader who plays with passion.

Thirdly, Bartram has played at VFL level and wasn't as good as Valenti. (Don't come back saying injury blah blah because i know that, granted.) Fourthly, i know they weren't left to dominate in the VFL as im sure Valenti wouldn't have been either this year had he been on a list. Finally, im not saying he'll dominate, or even ever get a game, or even make the list. Im clearly saying to some idiot that he deserves his chance at a pre-season and an opportunity to show what he's got to get on the list.

Read what i said. I didn't say he was definately a better player. But surely when he performs better than all of thos enames at VFL level he deserves a pre-season and a shot at AFL. I'm seriously wondering what planet you must be on. Your argument makes no sense! And as for the "another club would have got him by now" he was injured through most of the Under 18 year and was only fit in the final 5-6 rounds where he was close to, if not the best on the ground in all of them.

Are you serious? He has performed better at VFL level than Jones, Bode, Bartram, Pettard just to name a few. I'm not saying that he is neccessarily better than all those but he has certainly done enough to warrant a pre-season. Pull your head in you freak!

If the dees were to get someone as good as Birchall you should be very happy. He's an absolute gun who has just completed only his second year at an AFL club.

If that is the dees reasoning, that they want a first rounder for 3-4 years time. They should have acted on this last year or the year before when they would have been a realistic chance of getting a first-rounder for him.
