  1. Fritsch has reminds me of a young Buckenara. Woul be happy to use a 4th rounder/pick in the 60's on him this year.
  2. That Melbourne has wasted years and years with Spencer. Have never understood how Spencer has been on an AFL list for more than 1 season, 2 at the most and his non selection proves he must be moved on at seasons end. Selectors won't even choose him over a 193 cm key position journeyman!! The Spencer experiment must surely be nearly over.
  3. In - Gawn/Spencer, Wagner & Stretch Out - O Mac, Harmes & ANB I'm an O Mac fan, think he'll be a very solid defender in time, however, in certain situations for team balance, he's the one that makes way when you don't need 3 tall defenders. Harmes & ANB are just terrible with ball in hand.
  4. The Lions may still be interested given that those 2 are so young & developing. Some Clubs will be interested purely because he is 200 cm and can play forward/ruck. I'd rather him than Spencer but you'd need to give him a thorough physical and really determine if there is still a desire to compete.
  5. Tippett is nothing like $800k this year. His contract was very front loaded. He's finished at the Swans it all depends on what his new Club wants to pay. I suspect Lions will lure him home to Qld particularly if they lose that young forward.
  6. Have a very good source at the Swans and let me assure you that these 3 are gone at end of the year. Swans want them out at almost any price. Josh Kennedy has had a big blue with Tippett over his lack of physicality. All came to a head against Hawks when big Kurt was the only player that didn't buy into the crash into Luke Hodge at every opportunity strategy. Not only wouldn't do it but criticised it as a strategy. Playing group has lost trust in Rohan, some even call him Whiskas. They've also come to conclusion that Reid is more of a distraction and sick of him not being able to complete games It's easy to be seduced by all 3 as at their best they all have what we need but each represent a significant risk. I guess it depends on what you'd have to trade and pay
  7. 3dee read the post. I said he is a captain, not the captain. You must be fun to live with!!
  8. May is a 26 yo key defender who is a Captain of his Club. Some guys here believe he is the answer to our defensive problems, yet believe that we could get him for a 2nd rounder & a de-list in Kent. GC would want our first rounder plus a Tyson or maybe our 3rd rounder for the points. I would also estimate that May would not want a penny less than $2.8 to $3 million over 4 years. Must say I'm a little concerned about the 193 cm. Purely based on priorities, it's a NO from me, I want the 200 cm forward/ruck and 2 x quick, skilful, precise kicking outside mids.
  9. Outs - Kent (have totally lost it with Kent and would be happy for him to play at Casey before he gets de-listed at years end) Wagner (afraid that this is another one just not up to it) Weideman (might be a player, but needs 2 more pre-seasons and 25 games at Casey) Ins - Melksham Alex Neal Bullen Jade Rawlings, Greg Stafford or anyone over 194 cm that can take a mark
  10. Hey Dappa. You left out J Lewis? You can't have AVB in any side over the last 2 years.
  11. What say we offer Tyson & Salem for Kelly. Would that get it done?
  12. Weideman must put a string of good performances together at Casey before he's even considered. Thank God nobody has suggested Harmes to be recalled. I think the only change will be Hogan if they think he's ready for JKH.
  13. Can't believe some of the crap you read here. You'd have to add a Pick in the 5 to 10 range PLUS Brayshaw to get Toby Greene.
  14. Toby's dad Mick and uncle Paul were terrific A Grade ammos with De La Salle late 70's and thru the 80's. Mick was the outstanding A Grade ruckman for 10 years and Jon Anderson rated him as First Ruck in his best Ammo team of the last 25 years a few years back. He was barely 6' 2" in the old but hands like buckets. We won several Premierships on the back of Mick's rucking & marking and on a few occasions I would have to discreetly help him put on his boots because he often arrived the worse for wear. Never been a bigger partier than Mick but a terrific bloke and a family of Magpie tragics.
  15. I have posted on several occasions over the last 6 years for the "Spencer experiment" to be finalised. Minson isn't the answer but even he was best on against Spud Spencer in VFL GF 7 months ago.
  16. I hope I'm wrong but I think White is a plodder at AFL level. Too slow.
  17. Make no mistake Saty, with a few injuries the FD have no choice other than to select very ordinary AFL players such as Harmes & Kennedy. Can't understand the love for Harmes on this site.
  18. Bring on Round 2 for me. Saints are certainties at Etihad. They have what we can't handle, tall forwards and pace.
  19. Hang on, it wpould be an outstanding recruiting selection if Hulett turns into a pretty good player given he was taken very late in the Draft and was only expected to be a Rookie selection to the Saints before we jumped in with one of the last picks.
  20. Ever since the Tim Watson interview when this [censored] said he was struggling to overcome his grief at the passing of Mohammed Ali I have wanted him delisted and deported. Collingwood certainly knew what a whack job they were off loading!!!
  21. Jetta Frost Hibberd Salem T Mac Hunt Melksham Jones Vince Petracca Pederson Lewis Watts Hogan Garlett Gawn Tyson Viney i/c Oliver Stretch Kent Brayshaw emerg O Mac Vandenberg Harmes Cannot see the need to play 3 tall defenders against many sides, particularly when Hibberd plays so tall.
  22. Those that were completely fooled by the Sam Mitchell interviews must surely have re calibrated their naivety/gullibility radar.
  23. Redleg is correct. This is not as it seems and you can listen to the interview as often as you like, Mitchell has put on a master class in politics and PR. I was told by a very recently retired Premiership player today that Sam is not only very close to Simpson but also to Hale who is at Freo so is happy to go to Perth and have some time as Asst Coach to Adam and the plan has been in place for a few months that it would happen in 2018, with next year being his final year with Hawks. Problem is that a small group of Senior Players that have played for much, much less than market value for years to keep the side together, very recently approached Clarkson to complain that several Recruits were being brought in on bigger money than what they had been getting. Sam was particularly aggrieved at rumours of $500k for Vickery, which unbelievably is more than what Sam was paid in 2016 & more than what he was going to get in 2017. Staggering that Hawthorn would pay Vickery more than Mitchell. Bottom line line is that Clarko was very Dictatorial and basically told Sam that is was happening and perhaps he might like to get over to Perth a year earlier.
  24. I've been totally ignoring Spencer for 5 years. Every year there has been a better Rouckman than Spencer delisted.
  25. There is only one club that has made an enquiry and that is the Lions but they were told, thanks but no thanks due to Chris' wife Paige being unwilling to leave her job/career in Melbourne. Let me assure you that if no Vic club is interested, Chris will retire.
