I forgot to cut the dead air at the start of the recording. It should start about 30 seconds in. I have replaced the audio file on the server but as your podcast app has already downloaded the episode it will have the original file.

    Thank you!!!

To be honest I’m responding to what I  heard from people calling talk back this morning. Collingwood fans saying they were Legends fans (I don’t know what that is, but assume it’s Trident equivalent) and they didn’t get through for  90 minutes and felt very annoyed about the investment. I empathised with that.

The club is selling priority access membership for $30. It gives the highest priority for the first 3 weeks of the finals. Then for Gf that priority is level 3 (no idea what that means but I assume they’ll sell Gf tickets in a more tiered system). 👍

GF Level 3 priority leaves you very unlikely to get grand final tickets. Likely to sell out at Level 2.

Just saw a post from MFC still advertising the Grand Final Guarantee, has our form been that shaky that these are still available with one round to go?

Yes, the club is currently selling this and it is available until this Friday 12pm "or until sold out". I bought some today. The two people I spoke on the phone to explained the process very well.

I can put my hand up as being in that camp, but to be fair no one saw this coming. Nothing he’d done playing fwd this year gave any indication he had a game like that in him.

Except the first half against Hawthorn before he got injured was bordering on awesome.

    Yep

I would add Brown (or even Scache) in for Joel.  Scache can also handle some ruck work in the middle and down forward.  Not bad at ground level either.

Need a KTF lead up to take the heat off JVR and let him roam closer to goal.  Even if Brown or Scache played mostly as a decoy here.

Moore on JVR would be a poor match up for JVR at this early stage and as much as i would love Joel to get another chance, aside from a few contests and tackles, he had very little influence/impact as a 2nd tall forward last week from what i witnessed.

Need another ruck when we have Gawn, Grundy and JVR in forward line? Don't think so.

  6. 9Going to the game tonight with my whole family. First ever game for my partner who is 49yo! She's not keen, but will be able to say she has been ...

Have booked accomm near the ground so she and 6yo son can leave at half time, leaving me, my 21yo and 11yo sons to cheer the Dees home!

Delighted not such a long wait for the game as last week.

I sent in a WA border exemption application this week. Under reason for request I selected medical. In notes I wrote “if I don’t get to see Melbourne win a flag I’ll die. This is a matter of life and death”.
I will let you know if Mark gets back to me.

  8. I used three member barcodes to get tickets and could not find any tickets that were no cost unless they were for 1 year olds to 5 year olds.

Can some one please advise what to click on to get entry to the ground with MFC membership, without paying more ...

The Saints had a pretty tough game last week whereas we played bruise free football against Dogs. With a week rest there is simply no excuse to drop this one. However the fact are a quarter of our team has been turned over plus other than a depleted Pies outfit we have beaten no one above us. Lose this and another season wasted win it and redemption is possible. I think where a 40/60 proposition. A loss confirm we are a 10/14 team a win put us in the 5-8 bracket. Big game for club and Goody. This site will meltdown if we lose.

And a draw puts us as 9? ...

  10. One of my favourite memories- I was 14 years old. I attended the game with my Dad, my older brother and my younger brother, the three older males big Dees fans. My younger brother had jumped ship a couple of years earlier to barrack for Essendon which had won a couple of real premierships.

My memory is of the Dees hanging on desperately in a last quarter that went 25min 42secs. And then celebrating while being so mindful of my younger brother. I thought we were so gentle with him. We made it nearly all the way home when he burst into tears. It seemed so incongruous to me- up until then we'd won nothing- had not even made finals in my lifetime.

Of course this VFL Park experience was followed later that year with the tragic prelim final loss in Robbies final game. ... So pleased he got to play finals.

Is it a competition as to who has suffered the most? Surely not.

I've never seen a player play under such duress. He could barely move.

Gary Lyon when his back was cooked? I remember people saying it would be worthwhile him taking to the field in a wheelchair, such was his immense impact on the team ...

I recall him hobbling around the forward line like an old man.
