  1. Certainly sir, from what I can gather, there were quite a few sore bodies after Maroochydore, think that was the idea of the camp, actually given them a couple of days away, will be interesting to watch if there is any difference, although Roos said sessions may be light Find it difficult to wear the flag cape, comes with being called a POM for the last 37 years, offends my Irish/Scottish heritage
  2. Appreciate what you are saying, only sarcastic to those souls that deserve it, it is a public forum, as I am constantly reminded, it is not me that starts the sparring,, you must be on humour bypass today, I promise I will try, will be taking my lovely lady, so will have to be on my best behaviour
  3. A nice last bit Jumbo, agree with all of that..........some opinions are not formed they are given
  4. Club website has it at 9:15 am at Goschs, Moonie will be so excited that I will be able to be there, fanboying to my hearts content
  5. This was a suggestion made by Nate Jones to both Roos and tech guy, (forgotten his name, which is poor of me), they are still fairly difficult to control, all laughed when it was mentioned that if it fell out of sky and clobbered club captain how that would be explained to both media and Workcover, of course gizmo mad Roos wants it looked at in the future
  6. Great reports RB much appreciated " I realised afterwards just how much I have got out of going along each day. You definitley feel a part of it in a way and it's a real boost to the work day."...now you know why I go along.... oO Lunar Silhouette wants you down here as you have done such a great job, perhaps we can fan boy together, you just need to keep away from Chris Dawes, I have the benefit of living only 15 minture away and know every good café within 5k of Gosches They have a remote controlled camera on a very high tripod down here, with Roos in the cherry picker I assume they didn't have it there.........he loves his gizmos
  7. I agree with that, not sure where he fits now though, will probably be competing for a wing or bench spot, bit like Bail, can run all day and probably fill a role without standing out, knows where to run and is a neat kick, just read rpfc's post, I tend to disagree with the kicking from defence over the last couple of years, a lot of that has to do with the kick receivers, to use an American term, Roos has had them working on this since day 1 of pre season, you watch now and you have multiple receivers, if first and best option is not taken we reset and the receivers reset as well
  8. No, I asked him about his form this year, has done every session, his words paraphrased "I like to go under the radar, prefer it that way", don't think he has any leadership aspirations at all, he is part of a group of Newton, Michie, Jones, Bail et who just do every session with the minimum of fuss The talk of Jack Viney in the leadership group, no, maybe in a couple of years, even he says he still has so much to learn, give him a break, got to establish himself in the 22 yet
  9. Moonie my man, it was you that said I had made an uneducated guess, so I thought I would qualify my 'guess', on matters like this I never proffer an opinion before checking out a few things, no wait what am I saying, this is Demonland, of course you wouldn't understand that concept It was an opinion, I'll wait till it is all over and then with hindsight, say look I was right, it was all Cam Schwab's fault
  10. It must be interesting waiting for me to post, so you can be snarky, you do have a life? no I wasn't there, but going on what happened to the other protagonists and reading the reports and speaking to a few people, and other similar offences, this is what I would assume would be the outcome, so it was not uneducated per se, but then again we will have to wait and see,, bit like saying MFC were [censored] last year so we will probably be this year, sound familiar, me I am happy we made the effort to get Jett, and to answer the other query, believe he is from WA, so a return home could have been on the cards
  11. Wow!, the hair shirt wearers and lemon suckers are out early this year, haven't even got the NAB Cup yet
  12. I am not sure about Jamar, he is a senior player, think he might not show a lot of interest himself, getting to the point in his career where he needs to put himself first and ensure he is ready to go each week, and not have any distractions, saying that he is not very vocal at training although he does a lot of talking and instructing with the other rucks during sessions
  13. What I meant chap was that some do not see indigenous players as leaders, you only have to look, listen and read some of the utter rubbish Goodes has to put up with, Roos also likes to make statements, not even sure whether the players will have the final say this time, if they do yes what I have put, but if not hence my comment about Roos...either way Nev will have earned it
  14. Didn't see this till now sorry, tend not to read some topics depends on who has taken it over Jetta is a highly respected member of the squad, had the support of a lot of the players when he was delisted and rookied, not the most vocal but when he does speak at team meetings etc, they listen, other players have told me that. Roos is an advocate for indigenous players, think he may look at him
  15. Amen to that OD, gee the doom and gloom. I think we have a chance in the first four games, it is a new season, nobody has any idea about how teams are going to fare, including Paul Roos, he keeps saying so
  16. Had to wade through a couple of pages of dross to find your question, Essendon and us were probably the only 2 teams who really needed a mature small forward, it makes sense. He didn't cost us a hell of a lot and I trust the coaching group to get him in the right place and get back to doing what he does best, kicking goals, already seeing some of what Roos plans to do with him, JKH, Bail and Kent . The court case will probably see him get a fine at most, from what I can gather they were defending themselves and were provoked, no excuses from him though
  17. As for leadership, managers and captains.......a captain of a sporting team is completely different from a leader or manager anywhere else, in my long working history both civil and military I have met thousands of so called managers, only 2 real leaders, and 2 real captains (and I include Jones in that)
  18. I find it rather baffling that most have not got Grimes in the leadership group, the respect he has amongst the other players is probably second only to Jones My group Jones - Grimes, Dawes, Cross, Dunn and as a smokey Nev Jetta
  19. A couple of points on Garlett, when he first arrived, had a chat to him, asked him if he was going to join in on the Malthouse bagging that both Lucas and Robinson had done, said he was now a Melbourne player and that was in the past He is really good mates with Nev Jetta, they both laughed about Garlett's love of lap running, almost as much as Nev, but I asked the fitness staff, he has not missed a session and his numbers are where they should be, still doing the same speed etc at the end of the session as at the beginning, so fitness is not an issue Nev, JKH and Garlett are forming a tight little unit, with Nev as the 'Uncle' as JKH calls him And yes the pub moment was out of character, I have asked a few who should know If Roos wanted him that will do me, I have seen a couple of moments of magic that show if his head is in the right place he will be an asset, only training I know, one he was running across the middle of the ground from left to right with ball in hand, stopped, turned and kicked down the throat of Matt Jones on left wing, not even sure how he saw him....another drill was stood with Dunny who we all know has developed into a good one on one player, Garlett went to take off Dunn went with him, but Garlett just spon around and was five metres away before Dunn could react As for him being soft, he does the wrestling drills with Nev, so I doubt he is that soft, he also knows how to tackle
  20. Cool, Brayshaw has attached himself to Cross, wonder who made the decision, done extra bits in Melbourne as well, last couple of sessions I watched
  21. Some really great reports, good pics as well. Backing up what I have been saying about the more professional attitude across the board from coaches to players. DemonOx, good on you for talking to the players, they don't bite, well most of them anyway. Billy, thanks for the nod on Garland, has been on a program since the start to get his fitness back up, now where he should be. Grimes puts his body on the line all the time, even at training, never gets credit for it on here. I actually liked Junction Oval, there was a really good café nearby Moonshadow, you are just sad
  22. If you went near him before lunch, that's your own fault, once he has been fed he is a lot nicer, seriously, off the field he is a lovely guy, bit like Jones and Cross, game face on from Day 1 of pre season Top reports by the way, just good straight dot points, no waffle
  23. On Garlett, he loathes the running drills, but he does them, I asked the fitness staff about his numbers, they are where they should be, put the ball in his hands and the switch goes on
  24. How easy I am cast aside, the Cat Stevens song starts the chant and the crowd joins in, he would have to get past me RB where is the interaction with the players haha and the guns photos
  25. Sensing major competition for midfield spots. You can feel it out there. Casey's midfield should go allright this year. Both Justin Plapp (think that's it, can never spell it right) and Shannon Byrnes are both looking forward to working and playing with the talent that can't get into the 22 I have watched a lot of training, hard to contain the old excitement when Petracca puts on one of those bursts, seen him do it a couple of times Still think Brayshaw may debut before him
