  1. I would love to see Terlich as a tagger, but Roos tends not to use them, he was playing just in front of the key defenders taking the midfielders as they came down, and then taking the ball away if it was turned over Jeffy tended to drop back onto the wing and then come forward, making it difficult for somebody to pick him up, see my Nev Jetta comment
  2. Been looking at some of the photos I am putting on Twitter, the Pig Dog did alright yesterday as well, extracted a couple of times when it didn't seem possible
  3. The secret to Garlett's success, as Nev Jetta so succinctly put it to me, the [censored] [censored] is always on the move To answer the Terlich question, he wasn't on Garlett, and yes he had a solid game for a first hit out, as BB said in the beginning, nobody was horrible so it bodes wekk fir competition for places
  4. Bernie's shoulders are fine, he picked up a hammy injury before Xmas, wouldn't settle, now he has done it again, could be four or five weeks, sadly
  5. Well said BB, Matt Jones Terlich, McKenzie, Bail were solid today, stand outs for me today were Salem, Cross, Garlett , Nathan Jones - pleasant surprises Billy Stretch and Frost Agree Dawes was still double grabbing disappointingly, although he managed to hold on with the second Gawn and Spencer were about on par today, not the day for big men, about the only one still going full steam at the end was Pedersen Vandenberg didn't play because his shoulder needs one more week, Watts because of his groin, White his toe, Vince and Howie with hammy and Jack Fitzpatrick with back related issue (I think), Hunt same still working to full fitness Had a chat to Petracca, he is fine, just wants to stay involved, more pleased with his tweet referencing a 'computer'/console game, and JB HiFi coughed up 20 new ones, said he might mention he wouldn't mind a Mercedes in a tweet Howie is getting frustrated, the fitness/medical staff are holding him back, he hasn't been given a return to aim at, just has to follow day by day, understands the caution though, Bernice Vince redoing his didn't help
  6. You have inspired me to get the train, if I can survive on Victoria St, can survive anywhere.....your ageism notwithstanding, I will be the distinguished looking gentleman with the grey beard and the scooter
  7. Reason I advertised it, not one of the usual media suspects and he thinks about his answers
  8. It is a good question,, I have complimented Dunny three times for his 'voice' at training, he and Nathan Jones are constantly driving the squad, Dawes is another vocal one at training and Grimes so the leadership group is just that As I said previously didn't hear much from Cotchin, Rance and Newman were very vocal, as was Reiwoldt, When MFC are jogging laps in rehab (which they all hate), there is usually good encouragement, didn't hear much from the squad when their rehabbers went past There is also another Reiwoldt gem that I was going to save and put later, as Martin jogged past, and the squad was on a break Reiwoldt said "jogging a bit slow there Dusty, must be all the cash in your pockets"
  9. Back to MFC, listening to interview that Chris Petracca retweeted, it is with Col Garland, gave the interviewer nothing about his own 'injury', so maybe just a bit of tightness, this is his first full pre season for a while, like Fitzy, talks about the Paleo as well as Goodwin/McCartney https://soundcloud.com/the-wet-area/the-wet-area-2015-episode-2
  10. Another interesting bit, they have lines marked radiating out to the fifty at various angles from the centre of the goal line, didn't see them used, but maybe for goal kicking practice
  11. Re ball movement by foot, similar to MFC, very little pressure or opposition, unless the ball was mishit or wrong option taken, similar results to MFC about 5% poor kicks in the drills
  12. Mornings are scooting, auctions and training, afternoons are sitting in café on the internet looking for jobs and reading Demonland/Twitter I got a pic of Dustin Martin for a little joke on Twitter I was more curious myself, Hardwick is talking them up, so I thought I would have a squiz, love Reiwoldt as a goal kicker and marking forward, he is good to watch, but his behaviour sometimes is deplorable and spoils it, reckon if he had answered like that to Miller or Rawlings they would snot him
  13. This is all personal 'opinion', the intensity was not the same, and some of them were blowing hard, Brandon Ellis and Houli the standouts
  14. Training wasn't on this morning, so because I have been to nearly every training session, went to the Tigers training this morning to compare notes, if you don't want to read just skip, will do as similar to my MFC reports 9 in rehab, including Martin and Petterd (surprise), Hampson was doing slow laps, he looked exhausted, but he gets to go to bed each night with Megan Gale so perhaps not that surprising Similar ball movement drills involving lesser numbers, but strangely did not involve the ruck division Also ball retention and movement by hand ball, there was a lot a waist grabbing and spinning type tackling, too much risk of head clashes for mine The breaks between drills were longer than MFC, and one was particularly disorganised, coaches had to keep getting the numbers right Hardwick and Williams sat high in the stand to watch the full field ball movement drill Cotchin not very vocal which surprised me, compared to Dunn and Nathan Jones, Newman the most vocal So much for Reiwoldt being a reformed character, in one drill he led and had the ball delivered to his feet which he mishandled, immediately stopped participating in the drill which went for about another 20 seconds, trudged back to sideline, think is was Ruttem who said "you can't get the lace out all the time Jack", to which Jack replied "not at my [censored] feet though",, couldn't see Roos wearing that behaviour Rance and Vickery had a nice little tussle at the end that got quite willing Any questions feel free as per normal
  15. Hey Song I did my ACL in the Army in the UK when I was 20, I had it fixed by a 'proper' surgeon, way before the modern techniques these days, lasted through another 14 years of service, marathons, and footy till age 50, it is all down to luck....I feel more sorry for Kreuzer at the moment, the ruckman for the 2000's, can't get on the park, Petracca will be back
  16. Dean Kent seems to just stand on his right peg, heard McCartney point this out
  17. Tuesday is skills day, so if he was doing that it is a good sign, I counted four cameras on Monday, as well as coaches eyes, you can't hide a deficiency these days
  18. It could be a bit of everything we have just discussed, not brave enough to ask the big angry bear, although he seems to have even mellowed a bit, I think again if we can transfer the kicking skills from training to game day, he may have kicks down his throat and the two grabbing will be a thing of the past
  19. This is a personal opinion, think he tends to lead too fast sometimes and has to adjust at the last minute and doesn't get his hands right, notice in the drills they have been sending him long and having Hogan or Pedo as the lead up
  20. As for the question on the rookies, Harmes hasn't been doing his chances of an upgrade any harm either, has done every session since Xmas break, has quite a bit of toe, also with the need for speed another forgotten player Jayden Hunt is nearly back to full fitness, participated in some of the drills on Monday, including catching and corralling Dean Kent, who is no slouch either
  21. He didn't look particularly happy OD, so I didn't push it, agreed last thing he needs at the moment is an injury, had been tracking really well, looked to be back where he was a couple of years ago
  22. I agree he seems to have a strange/non classical way of holding his hands ready to mark, Brendan McCartney has been doing a lot of watching and talking about this during the sessions, heard him 'coach' Hogan and Gawn re the marking, he may get around to Dawes as well.........Don't forget Dawes is missing Round 1 and if Pedo gets the chance, he is not going to hand it back too easily this year
  23. Garland's issue seems to be around the hip/lower back area, not sure, he is not very forthcoming Think Frost just felt a bit of tightness, they are told to report anything, was told to stop, didn't seem that serious, but who knows
  24. Agree with that as well, had a nice bruised fist from punching seat in front of me last year, again he seems to be one grabbing more often than not now, but like everything else...games will show us
  25. I have no problem with mo64 's take on things either, but I was also there and watched some of the same drills, so if I have a different viewpoint to report, I will Dawes two grabs occasionally, as long as the second grab secures the ball, there is no problem, or is there?
