  1. To answer a couple of questions, both Watts and Fitzy are hoping to get a run this weekend As for Howe, as far as I can gather it wasn't a 'normal' hamstring injury, whatever that means, and they are being ultra cautious
  2. It was on the news as well, I think people tend to forget this was his first serious hit out in over a year, the last thing we want is to break him again, I reckon if Newton's eye is not better he will be 'rested' as well
  3. If you think it was a shambles, which is your choice, then make sure you express this opinion to the Club, everybody who was unhappy with the situation should
  4. Spoke to Christian Petracca, said he is ok, thought Roos' comment in his presser about him not playing again this year after doctor had told him he might, was hilarious The only missing today as far as I could see were Trengove and of course Hogan Also spoke to Jeff Garlett, found it hard to get into the game against Freo, just getting used to playing with the team, concentrated on defensive pressure
  5. Not sure what all the heartburn is about, we turned up at 12, even after bumping into Nev Jetta on Swan St who told us (myself, my lady and a friend from interstate) that the team wasn't going to be training till at least 1pm, I hadn't checked Twitter It seemed common knowledge when we arrived, that there would be a delay, from what I can gather it was a footy dept decision to change the time A lot of the kids were enjoying a kick to kick beforehand, and the sausage sandwiches were delicious, there was coffee and it was a nice sunny day, didn't see many supporters leaving before the training started We sat on the grass and relaxed for an hour, chatting to other supporters, that being said, reckon they should have had somebody from club announce what was going on As for training, it was another good session, lots of ball movement again Spoke to Dom Tyson after training, asked my opinion of his game against Freo, told him he got better as the game went on, told him some of his disposals were a bit ordinary but was a good sign that he had picked up from last year and was getting plenty of the ball, he agreed said all the kicking practice at training doesn't necessarily transfer to games and Freo was first opportunity to get the ball movement Roos wants into practice, and shake off the rust. Said team was disappointed that they sat back on their laurels in the second quarter and after a 'few good words' from Roos came out in the 3rd and 4th to prove they could compete with Freo, a really good chat Fitzy was really crook picked up a vicious virus and spent a week in bed, totally [censored] off, he had done really good pre season and found another way to miss games, back to full fitness, told him to stay away from mirrors and ladders They are being cautious with both Ben Newton who has a beautifully coloured right eye and Nev Jetta, after the head knocks, pulled them out of any drill where there might be contact, both said they were ok
  6. All I can is we must be referring to separate incidents, I can only find one instance when Jones gave away a goal for in the back, and he definitely did not 'jump' into the opponents back
  7. It means that if one of the rubbish journalists reads a topic on here and blows it up into something it isn't and it grows legs causing the Board and CEO to overreact and it impacts on the footy dept, sound familiar?
  8. No we don't, we just watch training and games without predetermined impressions of players, and treat each game separately
  9. My opinion is not always correct, but I will back it up if I am asked why, a lot of posters tend to just resort to well everybody else it saying it, so it must be right, one in particular I didn't think Grimes played that badly, he was just a solid but ordinary like a few others on the night, because I refuse to join in the public lynching, some posters don't like it Bullying, you are joking right, if you can't stand the heat of a public forum, then I suggest you find another outlet No he didn't, exaggeration is not justification, but hey it that is the best you have got, will have to accept it, it was a normal in the back given these days, Matt Jones tried to get the guy staying to the side, as soon as the player felt the pressure he flopped forward
  10. If you slow down the incident you are referring to, Matt Jones did the right thing and had the majority of his body to the side of the player who then flopped forward, compare to the Tommy Mc holding the ball where because Tommy was face up, Pavlich just fell on him and got holding the ball
  11. Of course everybody is allowed to post an opinion, and of course everybody is allowed to disagree, that is why it is a public forum, I put why I disagree with an opinion, you just put I look foolish, spot the difference We can discuss Tyson's disposals/options if you like?, or don't you disagree with my opinion?
  12. Er by looking at who was picking up the Freo forwards, that's how you usually do it, and looking at the goals on replay to see why they got them, it is called analysing, a concept that may be alien to some
  13. I agree, but some just don't want to hear it I have expressed an opinion, I didn't think anybody was horrible, was only watching the game on TV, a few were ordinary, but it was the first hit out, in slightly difficult conditions, as for falling below AFL standard, that's just laughable McKenzie, one of the perennials, did ok, so there is not a word of praise, can't have that The midfield lost control in the 2nd quarter, so if I was going to 'lay blame', I would start there, Dom Tyson said the same thing A lot of posters have their 'easy targets' so they just go at them. Me I already put in another thread that yes Tyson got a lot of the ball but his options or disposal was ordinary to say the least, Frost looked exciting coming out of the backline but his following disposal(s) weren't damaging It took Lumumba a half to find his feet which was understandable, but I though he was just good, not wonderful The last kick a lot of the time into the 50 was ordinary and it wasn't the 'usual suspects' delivering it, the only two really decent deliveries were Lumumba to Hogan and JKH to Vandenberg, both lowering their eyes
  14. Ah again, I am the one poster not allowed to express an opinion, so it must be about me I have nothing to apologise for as it is my opinion. Lke my opinion of a blowhard that has to put a bigger font to make a poiint
  15. Oh dear, one of your best, at least it made me laugh, how long does it take for you to think these up He played his role, it was hot and blustery, they had a big forward line
  16. So you are basing that on one half of a practice game, we also have Vince, Viney, Watts, Hunt, White, Stretch Riley, Howe and Terlich, think it is a bit of an early call A lot of the postings I could guess what they would say without even reading them, like counting sheep
  17. The same can be said for the standard of posts from certain posters, apart from just the general whingeing, do you actually have any comment to make This was the first game in slightly difficult conditions, nobody was horrible, in the video both Rawlings and Roos were pleased, of course there is still work to do, but we had guys playing in different positions If Grimes is not in the team at Rd 1, it will mean there is somebody who is in better form and playing better than him, I won't be cheering or moaning, but it is the coaches who will decide this Some posters already have Vandenberg elevated and in the Rd 1 team, what happens if Riley or Terlich or anybody else who missed out this week comes in and has a good game, oh that's right they are the NQR My observation on Dunn, he was trying at times to marshal a defence that he didn't recognize, particularly after half time I also observe that a lot of the Gawn lovers who demand he be the nr 1 ruck are a bit quiet , he was ordinary
  18. It's Demonland remember Personally even though we have a few ravers about him, I thought some of Tyson's options tonight were ordinary, he still got the ball but didn't use it well, probably just rust I thought we did ok for a team that had that had a few new faces that had to gell and players such as Salem playing in new positions there wasn't anybody really horrible, posters will just go for their normal targets I did point out that Vandenberg, after chatting to him and about him with the coaches, was a good pickup,
  19. Agree, it is just meant to be a short sharp bit of fun, I go to concerts/bars/clubs if I want to enjoy the band, Richie did it perfectly, hopefully if KISS get the gig they will be shown that vision, I was made for lovin' you/rock and roll all nite//god of thunder/god gave rock and roll to you/......that should cover it
  20. I don't drink at the footy chap, it is watered down cats [censored], but I am beginning to see some of the reasons for the hilarious comments after a game, must be interesting watching the game through the bottom of a plastic glass
  21. Will be interested to see your thoughts watching it live, the TV can be a bit different, first big test against a decent team
  22. Hey bloke if you really want Kent's autograph for your son, PM me with your address and can get it anytime and post it to you
  23. I don't mind you making the topic about you I was just concerned you were risking a gonad on Frost playing forward, the whole team practices goal kicking, seemed a rather large risk, thanks for the peanut love em not as much as lemons though, if I had a spare would give you one to suck on, enjoy the game darling I have a yarn to Burgo all the time, he loves the feedback from supporters Edit.....isn't it terrible when posters personally attack those providing training reports tsk tsk whatever next
  24. In place of Hogan?, why I thought most wanted him in rd 1 team as gorilla minder, this is just a shake down run after the four hour flight, I doubt whether they will be doing anything except loosen up, set shots are the perfect thing
  25. Because of his quick hands, expect him to be involved in a bit of the stoppage work in the forward half, maybe popping up on a wing as well
