Will be there today and I hope that there is still a contest to be watched after quarter time. The intensity in the first 3 minutes will tell me everything I need to know. I have no plans of hanging round to watch some limp wristed effort like I saw when I travelled to watch us play Brisbane.

Salem told the crowd at the Victory Room pre match last Sunday that his quad would stop him playing this weekend. He had it strapped Monday and was on light duties at training. Looking like a quicker than expected recovery atm.

Salem 'nicked' his quad. Uncertain of severity - number of weeks. He was walking slow laps Monday.

Obviously you can make contact with another players head, as long as you are playing the ball. I thought all players had a duty of care to protect the head. What would constitute accidental or reckless contact?

Member appreciation is very much a vital part of our clubs position. I think that the access, for all members, to The Victory Room, George Stone, Christian Salem and Jesse Hogan yesterday was a very good idea. A free drink was given with every meal purchased. Meals and drinks were reasonably priced. Access to the room was available before, during and after. However, not many people took advantage of this for some reason.

Travelled the length of the country to watch what I hoped would be a solid effort, if not a win. How disappointing. One of the things I took out of the day was the resilience of the members. The members who continue to pay up and show up after being kicked in the teeth for so long are truly remarkable.

Unfortunately Salem won't be playing anywhere this weekend. He injured is quad Saturday and was only walking at training with the other MFC listed VFL boys today. He mentioned this at the pre-match function in the Victory room
