Players to target at the end of the year
hulkhogan666 replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
I still want us to go hard at Tex, but I think I may be in wonderland. One of my favourite players alongside Dangerfield, Elliott, Beams, etc, who doesn't play for us. -
FFS, give Jimmy a break. Yes Wines is extraordinary, but he's been like that for the best part since Round 1 last year. Players take their own respectable time to get used to the game and adapt to it. I still have high hopes for Jimmy seeing as it's only his second year FFS. If it was his fourth or fifth year then whatever, fair enough, but when he hasn't been on the list for two years cut the poor bloke some slack.

I've always had a soft spot for the blues seeing as my mum goes for them (sadly) Bulldogs are still my most hated followed by the Saints, then Norf.
-
Agreed, we are better off without them nowadays. But I still don't blame them for leaving for why they individually did, barring Martin seeing as he got traded.
-
Why were you disappointed? Early in the year or not, if a player deserves a spray, he should get a f'k'n spray. If you can't cop a spray then you just have to harden the f up.
-
North are my third most hated team in the comp, nothing will be f'k'n sweeter then to beat these Norf hacks. GO DEEEEES
-
Can you honestly blame him? It would've taken a lot for someone who's red and blue through and through to leave the club that he grew up loving...
-
His form this year says otherwise, it's been shizenhousen.
-
I was at the game and Witts deserved it, it's not like Buckley knocked the dude out, just had a spray. Fair enough too.
-
Cooney's also injured at the moment too, will probably come back next week though. EDIT: Cooney out for around 3 weeks I've been told by a Bulldogs supporter.

Players to target at the end of the year

Pretty sure Burgoyne signed a new contract for Hawks, so did Bennell for GC. Pav will either retire or play one more year, if he plays on no way will it be for anyone but Freo. Enright, Kelly, Goodes, no thanks. We're trying to build this team's future, old guys who will only stay for a year or two won't do the trick. Fyfe/Mitchell I'd love at the Dees, Gaff would be handy and Levi could be anything. -
Next year that'll change, hopefully.

Tex Walker would be one I'd love to get, a forward line with him, Dawes and Hogan, then with others rotating through such as Vince, JKH, Kent, etc, would be pretty exciting. -
Stuart Dew was 'very close' to joining Demons under Paul Roos

I'd love to have Kirk, one of the reasons why Freo has such a dominant midfield. -
My ex girlfriend was a MAD Rabbitohs supporter, still is in fact, but the point is that she HATED AFL. Lived in Dubbo and now in Melbourne, her friend up there told her to go support Collingwood, she then moved here and bought a Pies scarf. Long story short, took her to a few games and she's been a Dees supporter ever since. I haven't seen that damn Collingwood scarf ever since either.

Jamar subbed off, Good or bad move?
hulkhogan666 replied to Bobby McKenzie's topic in Melbourne Demons
Reported with a jarred knee but he was out training today with the boys still. Also noticed that JKH was training with all the Casey boys, Kent was also running laps on his own too. -
Don't apologise, instead just thank Sheedy's magnificent trade which saw Scully go to GW$. Thanks Sheeds!

Start of the year we had no talls, now we're too tall, ironic ha. Also that call to have Matt Jones dropped is ridiculous, has been a consistent contributor ever since coming to the Dees. He's definitely a best 22 for me, and will not get considered dropped with how he's going unless of extreme form slump or injury. Yes he tries to take the game on sometimes and gets caught, but at least he tries. Tyson gets caught a fair bit but should we drop him? Food for thought. Out: Gawn (form isn't great, will get dropped unless Jamar injured) Salem/JKH also in line to get dropped, they just need a break really. Can't afford to burn out the young guys in their first year. As stated above, it's expected that first/second/third year players can be inconsistent. They aren't dropped then JKH should start and Salem should be sub. In: Kent (been in great form in the VFL, would've played every game up to now if he wasn't injured. I said to my old man last year that this guy is special and will be apart of our future, and I still do believe it. Kid can play.)

Evans is contracted until the end of next year I'm pretty sure mate. But I agree with the others, and the addition of Blease, McKenzie (unsure of his contract status), Clisby and Tapscott imo.

Players to target at the end of the year

I'd love to see us go for Nick Malceski. 30 y/o this year but still provides Swans with a heap of run and has an elite kick on him, also out of contract this year and hasn't yet signed on. -
It just goes to show how much Ro Bail has improved. Was an emergency last Queen's b'day in our 2013 team. Fast forward to this year and he's played every game, one of our biggest improvers.

C & D Grade Players who becomes Consistent!
hulkhogan666 replied to ashdemons22's topic in Melbourne Demons
Isn't it wonderful what Roos can do. Last year Jetta looked horrible, was OK at VFL level, but nothing more. His first match for us this year was another "why did we even bother with him again" (pretty sure it was against Adelaide, I might be mistaken), but ever since, he's something different. Kept Wingard quiet today (until obviously injured), and there's just something different about him now. Looks a much different player, both him and Bail have been great for us and should both give themselves pats on their backs. M Jones is another I have hopes for too, not the best player by a mile, but his first half today was absolutely great. Tried to take the game on but got caught a few times, which is frustrating yes, but at least he is having a go. Then we have boys like JKH, Salem, Tyson, Viney, Toump, Michie, etc, who have all shown us that they will be absolute champions.
