  1. Yes, I agree mate! Just showed a knack of doing the little things last game and showed he could fit in the backs, middle, or the forwards with his couple of snags at the end
  2. It's pretty uncommon for that sort of thing to happen but it would've been a case of viney's determination vs risk. In the end they would probably admit that he needed a bit more time off it but it's more one of those things that can either work or not depending on the player's individual body. Viney has shown to return from injury well and 'heal' quickly, so I think that would have been part of the reasoning.
  3. I'm a physiotherapist and essentially (from what it sounds like to me) is that when Jack came back to play, there was no risk of reinjury to his plantar fascia, however because it had only been a short time since he returned, there was still a substantial amount of pain in his foot. This is not a problem in itself however the pain caused jack to adopt a 'cautious' gait pattern i.e. put his weight through different parts of his foot he would not normally load in order to minimise the pain. This unusual loading to his foot resulted in a stress reaction to his 2nd and 3rd metatarsals (the big long bones in the middle of your foot), which is essentially when the bone cannot keep up with the load it is getting and starts to gradually deteriorate. I understand this never reached stress fracture stage (thank god), but it is why the MFC staff took a fully cautious approach and decided to just get him off it completely. With rest and proper rehab, it will be fine and I dare say he would be back into training within no time. Sorry for the ramble but hope this was interesting for people who were wondering! GO DEES
  4. Because of the Commonwealth games mate, got it straight off the suns website.
  5. WOOHOOO potentially round 2 vs brisbane and now Round 8 vs the suns at the GABBA!!! As a Queensland member this will probably be the best year of my life
  6. I think you've got to look at the fact that we've essentially brought Lever for the rest of his career. Players who are traded will very rarely ask for a trade again so essentially we have Lever until he retires. He's 21 now and could play over 10 years easily. Carlton traded even more for Gibbs who they'll have for 4 years max. I'll take our side of the trade every day of the week.
  7. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2017-10-19/garland-retires-but-takes-on-new-roles Thanks Garlo!
  8. Okay, I'm personally in the gutted his gone part but can see some of the reasons they wanted him gone, but also that I think he's more than pick 31 worth, but also that the MFC staff obviously have their reasons. To summarise, I think I'm just sad he's gone. Jack was synonymous with the MFC and no one can deny he was a good bloke. I wish him the best. Can the posters who want to sit there and shove their 'hate Jack Watts' opinions down people's throats just [censored] off for a bit and let those of us who are sad just mourn for a bit. That would be appreciated.
  9. @Siren seems to have gone quiet
  10. Any update about the victorian mid @Siren
  11. That was @Roost It. @Siren's player was supposedly a mid from a victorian club.
  12. Any update on your rumour @Siren??
  13. Any more clues as to who it would be?
  14. Any update about that story you heard @Roost It?
  15. Was Watts good enough for a return to the seniors next week?
  16. Sounds like Salem's gonna be out for a while.... [censored]
  17. 3 x Jacks and 2 x Christians. Full house right there, Surely that means something
  18. Coming down from Brisbane with a mate for this game! Cant wait for the dees to steal the spotlight with a win against the swans
  19. You'd hope so, great for us if he is out Shuey out and Maxy back in would give us a huge midfield advantage!
  20. Weideman with a bloody beautiful snap He's looked pretty great today, just needed the finishing touch on a few pieces of play
  21. I see your thinking about this but IMO one of the best game's he's played as a defender yesterday. Stopped his man, provided defence first and then provided a bit of a calming influence every now and then. thought he played well. As for my ins Out: Bugg (an absolute liability, my dad and I groan in despair every time he touches it), maybe wagner? But you'd be hard pressed to get a clear person to drop Ins: Hogan (depending on fitness), Salem If Maxy is in that would be amazing but I'd say he needs a week or two more Also kudos to Melksham, was bloody terrific
