  1. the only reason i would want alwyn at the club would be if it was the only way to get aaron to stay, then it would be money well spent... apart from that we already have enough of his type who have shown more with a lot more potential

  2. If Luke Ball gets delisted by saints , we should try and get him or trade.Good player and is only 25 and could fill the void left by Wheels

no thanks, too expensive because saints wont delist him but even if they did we already have mclean, jones, moloney, valenti who are in and under and slow with limited kicking ability

  3. We got pick 14 for trav which we used on grimes... trav had gone to brisbane and barely played a good game and we have a future captin, you're right that was stupid.

Jolly left cause he wanted to be a No.1 ruckman and we had jeff white, not an ideal situation to let him go but the obvious choice at the time.

Robbo got dropped for his efforts last week which it was widely agreed to be the right decision...

  4. Don't think he is soft, he is just so under developed physically. Whenever he gets a ball in a congested area he invariably turns it over or misses targets as he is rag dolled around the place. When he finds space he is a much better proposition. He needs antoher couple of preseasons to develop like his brother.

i think he is soft, you can say he is skinny, doesnt have enough muscle etc etc. but the fact is by running out onto the field he needs to be willing to put his body on the line. His inability to look at the ball, instead the player, when running back with the flight of the ball is infuriating! See the play leading up to McLeod's goal tonight.

And, even when in space he turns the ball over far too often... kicking it over players heads or grubbing it 5m infront of them, and often they are simple 25-30m passes.

  5. I must admit i was very iffy about Frawley when we selected him and i hadn't seen much previous to this year to get excited about but he has come on leaps and bounds this year. Congratulations to him and may his improvement continue.

  6. In:

    Grimes

    Maric

    Robbo

    Spencer

    Out:

    Bate

    Bartram

    Johnson

    ?

    ? = morton!

he was absolutley horrid today!! Soft and needs serious work on his basic skills...

Granted he wasnt alone in being soft but some of his efforts today made me sick! Needs a spell at casey to get his head right

  7. Unfortunately i have to work all of today as is the life of a uni student so can't attend the game.

Just want to wish all going a great day and hopefully you are all twice as loud to make up for my absence!!

    GO DEES!!

  8. No we didnt in short.

    We Have:

7 home games against victorian teams (1 sat, 5 sun, 1 mon)

4 home games against interstate teams (2 sat, 2 sun)

6 away games in victoria (1 fri, 3 sat, 2 sun)

    5 interstate games (2 sat, 3 sun)

All up we have 1 friday night game, 8 saturday games, 12 sunday games, 1 monday game

    Bloody terrible!!

** note: thats counting the sydney game as an away interstate game, even though it technically isnt

  9. after speaking to greg swan the other day i am happy to see this. he said that we must pick our sponsors very carefully and not rush into the first company that offers us money. we have to try and create a mutually beneficial relationship with our sponsor.

this coming from someone who was involved with the winding up of fitzroy, rescuing collingwood and reviving carlton (who will be announcing a new jumper sponsor next week for those interested). i hope we have some like minded people at the head of our marketing dept.

  10. perhaps west coast might want him if seaby goes

or the tigers for pick 26??

    you never know?

ruckman are very sort after..... i would definitely be putting him out there!!!

jamar for 26 would be the biggest steal in AFL history

there are 6 players on our list that i think other clubs would be willing to hand over pick 26 or higher for (brock, green, garland, morton, rivers, buckley)

  11. [censored] jamar for another pick and before you know it you have 6 picks in the top 40 and Taylor (who played 21 games for hawthorn this year)

Jamar wont get a pick below 40, he is worthless in the trade market. The other team would just be giving us a pick for nothing effectively

and its Green, with no e

  12. i'll keep it civil.

IF this were to happen it would be a massive win for us, i dont know much about bentley but davey and 19 for pick 4 would be great so anything on top is a bonus.

Newton for a 3rd round is just getting rid of dead weight as far as i am concerned, newton may relish the chance at the bulldogs but as far as a melbourne player goes i think he is to soft and uncomitted, tries to take the hanger and gives away a free instead sort of stuff, we've waited long enough and he hasnt shown enough

but like most others on here, i think these deals only get done in my dreams

  13. FB: James Frawley, Stefin Martin, Mathew Warnock

HF: Colin Garland, Jarad Rivers, Kyle Cheney/Tom McNamara

C: Aaron Davey, Cale Morton, Simon Buckley/Jack Grimes

HF: Austin Wonna, Jack Watts, Colin Sylvia

FF: Addam Marric, Brad Miller, Mathew Bate

Foll: Paul Johnson, Brock Mclean, Nathan Jones

Bench: Jack Spencer, Brent Moloney, Ricky Pettard, Chris Johnson

apologies/emergencies to newton, valenti, bell, meesen etc

    im worried!!

  14. I would gladly sacrifice Newton's offensive capabilities

i have seen nothing this year to indicate that we would be losing too much from sacrificing his offensive capabilities, as for miller we could play him out of the square as a true FF, we have seen how accurate his kicking is this year.

  15. All my mates (me included) call him the butcher because his skills are terrible, but we all agree that he has an uncanny ability to find the ball which is something you can't learn.

After round 22 he should have 2 weeks off and then should never be seen without a footy in his hands kicking... If he wants to become a good consistent player
