  3. So it really was 27,070 then. Close thread.
  4. Take your Demon's beanies off for a second. Besides being a commercial decision by the AFL why shouldn't Geelong get a home final, like the interstate teams, if they earn it?
  5. He can't this week as he has a prior engagement. I agree that the generation gap would be interesting. WJ makes his long awaited Demonland Podcast return next week. We'll announce our special guest for next week on tonight's show.
  6. If you organise the tickets I'd be happy to pay for them. If it happens it means we're top 4. Small price to pay.
  7. Unfortunately no. The only ones I've created are the Hunt Torp and Tackle ones which incidentally is the name of my new 80s hairband tribute band.
  8. Zero chance of us playing the Cats in a final or zero chance of that game being played at the Cattery? I doubt they would play a Prelim against a Vic team in Geelong but I believe the Cats would get a home game in Geelong against us in a Qualifying Final. I also believe that if the Cats were playing Richmond in a QF that game would be played at the G.
  9. If anyone else has a question for Jayden then let us know and we'll try to ask.
  10. Thanks. Also he looks nothing like his computer avatar.
  11. Two players this week. Congrats to Hibberd and Viney.
  12. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2017-07-25/hibberd-scores-a-perfect-10-in-aflca-votes Another perfect 10 for Hibbo! MELBOURNE v PORT ADELAIDE 10 Michael Hibberd (Melb) 5 Travis Boak (PA) 4 Max Gawn (Melb) 4 Clayton Oliver (Melb) 3 Jayden Hunt (Melb) 3 Jack Viney (Melb) 1 Robbie Gray (PA)
  13. I make them myself. Have a gif you want? Send me the match and timestamp.
  14. I believe that is correct. I think they underestimated the Melbourne v. Richmond game. It's not an exact science. I guess they didn't factor in the BBBBRRRRRRR factor this week.
  15. 2006 Membership = 24,698 2017 Membership = 41,112 Perhaps a weather comparison will be a better yardstick to measure. The game was played early in July so perhaps it was a tad warmer.
  16. Just a reminder that Jayden Hunt will be joining us for an interview at the top of the show tomorrow night (Tuesday) at 8:30pm. http://demonland.com/Podcast
  17. I thought the attendance at the Bulldogs game (even though an away game) was poor too.
  18. I believe I have stated elsewhere in the thread that I understand that many people live interstate or work etc. Those aren't the ones I'm having a go at. You alluded to the fact that I am saying that people who have a country membership and can't go to every game are letting the team down when I'm clearly not saying that. I honestly thought 27000 was a poor crowd for a team on the cusp of a finals berth and as a result we have no right to complain if we are dealt harsh fixturing blows. If we can't attract decent crowds then we are always going to be the last cab off the rank. Not blaming anyone that's just the way it will be.
  19. Obviously interstate members are excused and I understand that some people have work/sport/other committments. No one "has" to go and nor do I have any right to question anyone's commitment. I just don't think we will have any rights to whinge about the draw if we can't get bums on seats.
  20. 27,068. Pathetic really. We are a team on the cusp of making the finals for the first time in a decade. I know it was cold. I know we were playing an interstate team but how are we to be taken seriously as a "blockbuster" team if we can't get our own bums on seats? If Geelong are slated to play the Tigers in a final there will be no question that that game gets played on the G rather than in Geelong. If we line up against the Cats I guarantee you we are playing at Simmonds. Get your arses, your mates arses, your mums and dads, grannies and grandpas, your cats and dogs to the footy. Mini rant over.
  21. Earlier in the season, Melbourne was coming off its big victory in Adelaide and confidently chose an unchanged line up to break the long standing hoodoo. It didn't work at the MCG when the team had what Max Gawn (then injured) describes as a "sh--house' start". Really, this is one we simply can't afford to allow to get away.
