Subject: A members concerns

To Peter Jackson,

As a long term and passionate supporter of the MFC recent performances culminating in yesterday woeful effort has led me to make my feelings known to people in power to hopefully make change.

While i feel our list has deficiencies I feel our on field performance is well below their capabilities.

During all our games even against gws there have been periods ranging from a quarter to whole games where the effort intensity of our players decreases markedly and the opposition can do what they like without any apparent pressure.

The lack of intensity manifested in opposition players running free is appalling to watch.

Even when our intensity is up the lack of spread to create options for a player in possession will result in hesitation and often lead to turnovers.

this appears to be lack of game plan or application which both in turn reflect on the coach

From the stands and discussing with my fellow supporters and opposition supporters the overwhelming consensus is that the coach does not seem to have the players on board .

It is getting to the point of apathy and where I do not want to go to watch ,a situation that has not occurred in my many years of following, even in times of poor performance.

Unfortunately the group of supporters I go with regularly are of like mind ,and I feel the situation will get to unsustainable levels unless drastic measures are employed.

I feel Mark Neeld contract should be terminated,Don Mclardy while seemingly a genuine well intentioned man should stand aside and the president in waiting Mr frreeman take over .

A rebranding with new coach president, ceo can hopefully lead the way .

I will always be a demon at heart as will my family but when the passion is waning I am concerned enough to draft this in the hope of change to rekindle the spark

This was sent from my personal email with name and mobile provided

Up until recently I felt Mark Neeld was someone to keep

May need new name on site

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
