for me, this comment is the most concerning.

Being told that you squibbed a contest or were gutless is the ultimate humiliation in Australian football. Steven Stretch has spoken on this topic at length regarding his performance in the opening minutes of the 1988 GF. He was continually reminded of it throughout the remainder of his playing days.

It is remarkable to me that any football player could continue to play in such a fashion.

Even more flabbergasting, is Adem Yze's entire career in the AFL. Only players of the calibre of Bartlett could get away with it. You simply should not be allowed to in today's game.

As stated by others, the problem, if there is one, needs to be eradicated immediately. If not, then yes, he's a lost cause.
