  1. If found guilty it's still only $50k, not much compared to Carlton's or even our fine effort of the past.

Quite true. The penalty will not be as great as Carlton's if the allegation is proven. However, it should still be reasonable harsh if it is found to be a deliberate attempt to get around the salary cap rules.

  2. Strong rumours in Sydney that the man with multiple chins and saviour of Austwalia is about to lose his position as CEO of the 9 Network and will return to hosting TV programmes.

Such a move would ensure that Eddie remains a little longer as Collingwood President giving him more time to preside over a team of failures.

It could also be a big blow to our own Garry Lyon because Mr. McChins would no doubt return to the job of hosting The Footy Show.

Only a rumour and so far no comment from Jessica Rowe.

  3. im going there in march for my honeymoon and will look forward to our trip out to phi phi island

i would love to see the cup lifted next year with a jumper and #20 hanging form the cup

I'll always remember the big red headed bloke running the ball out of defence at the G.

    Go Broady!

  4. no i dont think i have , we are all now dumber for even refrencing Shehans top 50.

instead of lookin at say the top 50 maybe we should look at top players at a specific club, and to mind i can think of some big names which have been traded which may not have nesccesary been in Shehans 50

Shane woewodin and jeff farmer come to mind = both played essential roles in the melbourne side

now i know everyone is going to be they dont compare to Judd but their role at the club maybe

There's a great article about Brock McLean in today's Sunday Herald Sun but I can't find an internet link to it ATM.

  5. The local Free Press Leader Newspaper has an article on prospective draftees -

    D-DAY FOR YOUNG TALENT

    DANIEL HAYES (180cm, 70kg, Montrose)

"Hayes, a lightning-quick winger, had an interrupted season at TAC Cup level but his talent and physical attributes are undeniable. He produced top-10 results for the agility and vertical leap tests at the AIS draft camp and applied himself diligently in every challenge presented. He was a surprise selection for last year's Vic Metro team."

John Lamont (coach): "It depends on how much the AFL clubs like him. Obviously, there are a few that are interested in him because he got an invite to the camp. He worked pretty well up there; we've just got wait and see now.''

  6. Just watch the game after downloading it earlier. I'd downloaded the irish coverage - no stephen Quartermain :D

It was interesting for a number of reasons:

    1. The only time they laid blame squarely on a player for a fight was when the irish guy leapt at pace into the Aussies back.

    2. They claimed the Aussies and Irish were equally guilty of unnecessary cheapshots.

    3. The only criticism of the umpiring was late in the game saying they should have shown some reds, but didn't say who.

    4. In regards to the Pearce tackle, they called it perfectly fair at the time and continued to do so through the game.

    5. they were brutal on the Irish coach and the players tactics, especially with shots at goal dropping short and the method of kicking out from full back.

I was surprised, expected them to beone-eyed and have a go at the Aussie when I realized I had the irish feed of the game, but that wasn't the case.

As for the after match reactions, did someone say conmen?

Agreed...the irish coach was p@ss weak and making excuses for a very lame performance. The auusies have worked the game out and these lokes are going to look real bad if they come here with their attitude next year. My guess is they'll wimp their way out of it.
