  1. Hope we don't get one to be honest , would prefer to have say the same as gws and gc the 2 picks for 17 year olds ( like hogan ) and we have to trade them , but not for picks only for players

That is actually a good idea IMO. But, what if we were offered say Cross, Higgins and a 2nd round pick from the bulldogs. Packages like that would be acceptable, surely?

The above was an example, of a player+player+pick.

  2. Likely...

    Backs Sellar Panozza L Tynan

Half backs J Tynan Gillies Davis

    Centreline Nicholson Couch Toumpas

    Half forwards Taggert Spencer Smith

    Forwards Nicholls Hogan Blease

    Followers Gawn Magner Gent

Interchange (from) Best Clisby Hillard* Hughes Matthews

Get down and checkout Tom Cuuran for the Zebs. I have seen him 3 times and would like MFC to nab him before the Saints do. Has real zip and smarts around goal.

Surely Barry plays for Casey 1sts?

  3. Liam Anthony (NMFC) ... offer 3-yr contract and trade for Daniel Nicholson

    Aiden Riley (Crows)

    Matthew Jaensch (Crows)

    Todd Banfield (Lions)

Shane Savage (Hawks) ... offer 3-year contract and pick #38 trade

    Mitch Hallahan (Hawks)

    Tom Curran (Saints)

    and priorities:

Dylan Shiel (GWS) ... offer a 4-year contract and pick #2 trade

Dion Prestia (Suns) ... offer a 3-year contract and pick #20 trade

PLUS offer Worsfold a 4-year contract to move from the Eagles.

I woild go after Savage, Jaensch and Riley from that group. Anthony another possible target. IMO Jaench and Svage would be the must gets. The other guys you listed I dont see as any better than what players we have and are being called on to be delisted.

  4. He was semi ok today....but still a cameo player and not a real captain.

Maybe he's just not as good as we hoped he would be?

He was everything we were hoping in his first 2 years, the last year and 8 rounds have not been the same player, maybe that's the injuries and confidence, maybe that's Neeld, but i certainly wouldn't have said he doesn't have the ability

Maybe he was suffering from a foot injury that slowed him down? I know personally how hard these are to get over. Maybe his last 6 quarters have been very good and he is building a bit of steam. Maybe he is trying to lead a football club out of the wilderness. Maybe drafting him was and is still a great move, the way he leads the players and speaks through turmoil I admire. Just maybe..........

  5. Fremantle 2011 we beat by 96 points.

Fremantle 2013 we lose by 91 points.

Core lists are the same.... both teams changed their coaches.... hmmmm....

The way they were playing, that happened. They would win big OR lose big. They were unfit. At least to Neelds credit he is showing the importance of running 2 ways. Which they did not do in 2011.

  6. the fact that he hasnt included Trengove in that list shows how people feel about our co captain.

I know Jack will be a gem but his form needs to improve because at the moment he deserves the crap he gets.

Yesterday was good, but not good enough

I honestly do not udnerstand why he isnt rated... averages 7 tackles a game.... that is amazing. If he was in another side that won uncontested ball he would avg a lot more disposals. He was down on form due to Injury and is now returning to form after a very good game on the weekend.

  7. LOL are you for real?

    1) Hes a bad coach

    2) we have no gameplan or anything resembling one

    3) gave Cam Pedersen a 3 year deal

    4) his pre-game speech against Essendon was embarassing

    5) 148 point loss

    6) his team gets smashed by an average of 80 points a game

    7) he has 1 win, to the pathetic GWS in a game we trailed by 19 at 3 quarter time

    8) doesnt inspire the players

    9) doesnt inspire the supporters

    10) is terrible with the media

    11) constantly makes stupid excuses

I can go on and on

But you actually have no proof of any of those things. All coaches suffer big loses, Sheedy lost by 140+ how many times with GWS and hes one of the greats. You cannot explain your examples. Which in turn was my point, band wagoners for Neeld to go.

  8. All the blame is on Neeld, when he is not the only coach there. Does everyone really think he pulls the strings? He has other coaches there too, who are supposed to help him. We should be calling for their sacking as much as we should Neelds. It's easy for everyone on here to bandwagon and want Neeld gone, but I bet they could not even give 5 good reasons as to why. Neeld is shielding his players from the grunt, I feel that is a noble thing to do.

  9. I think perhaps a little Ross Lyon could be the answer. Is someone does not meet the benchmarks set they are dropped regardless of who they are or the place they fill in the team. Nobody is safe. Everybody is accountable.

Yep, but when that happens they back their bags and leave i.e Moloney.

  10. Norm Smith would fix the midfield in one trade/free agency period

he would also attract free agents and get our good players to re-sign

Agreed, Coaches like him bring players to the club. They have an awe about them. No disrespect to Neeld, It's what we need right now.

  11. Nice job Dr, very mature of you!

Out: Sellar, in Pedersen (deck chairs on the titanic)

Out: Bail, in Rodan (not that I rate Rodan but bail needs to work on his game)

Out: Gawn, in Fitzy (Gawn isn't going to well, time to try Fitzy)

    Out: Terlich (inj) in Strauss

As we've seen multiple changes doesn't achieve anything. And Pedersen and Fitzpatrick are the two at Casey really making any impact. Rodan I think is next best.

We've got some more underperforming forwards at AFL level (Jetta, Tapscott) but I see little point in Kent, Blease or Taggert at this stage.

    Agreed.

  12. Hogan wont leave. He is loving the club and would love guys like Toumpas, Viney, Davey, Taggert, Clisby etc delivering him the ball, just like some have done in the Vfl. Obviously Neeld will be sacked... He wont last it is as simple as that. It was poor timing. with him certain coaches will go, with that we may see a completey different side. Not blaming Neeld, I think his game plan would work, but unfortunatly he doesnt have the list he needs and he wont be around long enough to see one either.

  13. The only MFC listed players who played in the development league game today were rookie Nathan Stark and NZ international Maia Westrupp.

Rory Taggert will probably play for Casey seniors tomorrow.

Ah ok, I just did not seem him on the final side on the VFL website.

  14. I've thought many a time about Watts getting traded but haven't actually mentioned it in this thread if I recall correctly. Why would you have a problem playing Howe in defense? I'm talking about as a stop gap if there were enough injuries to Frawley, McDonald, Pedo, Garland, Watts, Dunn + a draft pick, so I'm saying 3 or so injuries at least just to that group of players. I'm not talking as a long term move. He is also Neeld's favouirite loose man in the backline as he gets to contests and can impact them on the ground or in the air. With Hogan, Dawes, Clark he is destined to play high forward/wing in my mind anyway.

The idea is about focusing on the midfield. In order to do that we need to turn over excessive players on our list. Gillies, Joel Mac and Davis haven't provided us with anything this year and have limited potential IMO so therefore turn them over and replace them with midfielders. Maybe get a 190cm midfielder/defender who can start in the backline group and move into the midfield. Bit like Jackson Thurlow at Geelong.

My mistake, someone else said for Watts to be traded, I apologise. Howe has an X factor down forward that creates mismatches for opposition defenders and because of that I would much rather see him down forward. Howe can go back I agree, but I personally would rather him as that HFF type.

Yes, agreed. I will take a look at any of the types of defender come midfield types in this years draft.

  15. From what I have seen on Barry (all be it not that much) but none the less, he has the one thing we are lacking at the moment, run, carry and speed. He is very crafty. I look forward to watching him in the future being our Lewis Jetta in terms of type of player.

  16. Leaves us with Frawley, McDonald, Pedersen, Dunn, Watts, Garland and draft a young tall defender (that's 7 guys for 4 spots) plus if there is a horror run with injuries you could use Howe, Hogan or even Fitzpatrick in defense for a short period as a teaching exercise.

Not sure why you'd keep Davis, Joel Mac, Gillies or Sellar (if you can't get rid of Pedo and have to keep Sellar) based purely on depth in a team that's along way from depth really being a major concern. I'd much rather use the 3 extra list spots to develop midfielders.

You said Watts should be traded. Howe playing defense is very bad decision IMO. I agree with the sentiment, but i reckon we focus on the midfield first and fore most.

  17. I just want to know, is it be more competitive? if so what will that be judged on? tackles? pressure acts?

I ask because i was discussing it with a friend and he posed the ame question to me... and i could not answer. I was simply dumb founded
