  1. Fritsch needs to be told it's not 2021 anymore and no free rides. Jefferson I am hoping so hard he makes it as I don't want to see another draft pick chewed up by a key forward. He isn't ready. I'd try JVR back as her has got talent and I feel he is taking on the pressure of trying to be the great white hope too hard. Needs to be freed up. I would try Adams or Sestan. Surly one of this crop need to debut otherwise they will be out the door to another club. They two big questions are: 1) why the last quarter fadeouts every week and 2) how can this club continue to turn it's head to an issue which has gone on for four years in the poor delivery into forward 50. I really hope the new CEO and Pres get a proper external review completed.

  2. Tholstrop reminds me of a Chandler 2.0. A little rough in the early stages and was up and down both in form and the main team. Another pre-season and consistent game time has allowed him to flourish. This forum lacks patience with the young kids.

  3. I am sick of the JVR bashing on this forum. You try performing in a.forward line that bombs it on top of your head week after week, and being coached by a backman who teaches him no forward craft. Don't be surprised if the way he is playing IS due to the way he has been instructed to play.

  4. How did we win a flag with most of this group? I am convinced the game has passed Goodwin, Richardson, Williams, and Selwin Griffiths. The team has gone backwards at a rate of knots and there is not one glimmer of hope in sight. It's time to cut the head off the snake and get whatever draftpicks we can at the end of the season. This has been a pathetic effort.

  5. Just get a damn forwards coach who was an ACTUAL FORWARD to teach JVR the craft. Chaplin is not the answer as he will show how to defend as a forward but not how to play like one.

Couldn't agree more Maximus Gawn. I'd rather as supporters we focus on backing in a proven coach and leave it to the experts with internal working knowledge of our club determine what the Footy Department should look like if and when appropriate. The worst thing any club can do is bow to external pressure to replace its coach and unfortunately supporters are the worst offenders when it comes to external pressure to make changes which often set the club back and rarely result in positive change.

Take the emotion out of it and look at it from a pre and post premiership perspective. It has been chalk and cheese how different his and his support staff performance has been. It isn't only Goody; I'd start asking what Richardson and Lamb have done since the flag. Bad contract extensions, no big fish signed, player and coaching development stalled and onfield performance gone backwards.

Apologies if this has been asked and answered before in this thread - do we have to pay out full contract of Goodwin if we terminate before the contracted end date or did the AFL bring in a max payout cap. If the latter, we should be on our bike in the hunt to secure the best replacement before other clubs are in the hunt (eg Carlton, if not already)?

    Only twelve months.

  8. Is there any chance we could sit back and look at everything that happened yesterday in totality? Six new faces, a refreshed gameplan, playing a team that is predicted to be a premiership threat who had a week of match fitness under them, we led for most of the day, and lost in the last 90 seconds with a play that reminded me of the 1987 Prelim Final.  We can look at all the negatives but there are plenty of positives to come out of it.  This week will be better suited to what we want to achieve through faster ball movement on a slick deck under a roof. Remember, in over 129 years no-one has won the Grand Final in March!

  9. Sharp will be a lock on the wing for the first game. His endurance and workrate are exactly what we need on the other wing if Windsor is going to half back.

On another note, went to watch Essendon train yesterday and out sessions had way more running, match sim and full contact within. We train much harder than them but it may have been a 1/2 loading session in their defence.

I think this is great for the lad but geez we're going into the back end of the season with a very young and inexperienced side.

I know and I like it. Let's be honest with ourselves that we would not be challenging the top end due to a lot of factors so why not make something of the backend. Can't keep going to the BBB, Schache, Billings well, otherwise we'll lose another Bedford or Jordan.

  11. I feel for the guy as I have no doubt he is trying but confidence in himself and potentially his body is holding him back. He virtually had no preseason and we expected him to dominate from Round 1 which was never going to happen. I honestly believe the club, like Oliver, should not have played him if there were better options available as BBB and Shache aren't it.

I think Max may have been out best midfielder today.

Full credit to the boys, they chased their opponents around hard all day.

You cannot be serious Brownie. If you are, admin needs to ban this person for stupidity.

  13. All I want to know is that after three preseasons we still have no connection between our minds and forwards. How is that possible with all the coaching, training sessions, analytics, etc?
