Yeah they have it all locked up tight this year. That geoblock works very well on WatchAFL.

Training - during and after the break

Let's also hope CP5 passed on any family games of basketball. -
Can't be. He was picked up again by Hawthorn in the draft.

I quickly taught myself the NP kick when I was in lower grades, pushing for prem in under 18. It may have made the difference in games I got, but who will ever know. I just presumed then (being the mid 90's) that I'd never make it professionally unless I could kick both feet. So that's why it still shocks me now, that so many players in the AFL system can only kick on one foot.

It looks like they used a shot of Garland in the MFC jumper for Lewis's torso. Then Viney's for Hibberd.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JORDAN LEWIS
alias275 replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
Here's my theory; There is only one reason Lewis requested a trade to the Dee's. The poor guy is obsessed with the great game that much from playing under the mastermind coach, Clarko. That he has to be on the field Round 1, 2017 in the red and blue. This way he can still play under the AFL's new mastermind coach, Simon Goodwin. Booya lol -
Definitely don't see him coming to the Dee's this trade period. Though the attitude problem doesn't worry me one bit. Goodwin would break him down and rebuild him piece by piece. The guy is a psychological genius with these kids. Plus the player culture instilled will sort him out in seconds. The boys would instantly give him no choice but to befriend them all and teach him the Roos way of football professionalism.

I was literally reading this post when the MFC text came through for the selections. So to answer that question it's Salem.

The kid is a gun. On 2 or 3 occasions in the last half, we were trying to clear the ball with continual pressure from the Suns defenders. Just when you think they finally locked it in, Clarry threads a friggin needle of a handpass and away we go.

The old lady chucked out my mid 80's Sekem long sleeved royal blue Guernsey (VFL and DRAKE badged). Just because it had 1 hole in it. Like come on! Still hurts. Only got the sleeveless wooly left. Everything's post Sekem.

MFC 2016 Membership - Record Broken. Next stop: 40,000
alias275 replied to Lucifers Hero's topic in Melbourne Demons
I live interstate and do my part every year. Though yesterday i just signed the soon to be wife as well. Just want to do what i can to get this 40k. If we do beat the Saints and Suns, we'll have a really good chance. -
And that's it for another year.

So true. I would be confident in saying Watts will get 2, Jeffy 3. Hoges, it'll all depends.

For me the biggest difference i see as an overall judgement on our side. Is the fact we hunt the ball and have hunger for it. Kennedy, Bugg, Oliver, AVB, Gus all have drive for it. Gawn giving us majority of the first use. It's a great call of character on our recruitment side of things. Plus an obvious sign now that the 'bruise free' and lack of commitment for the ball is a thing of the past. Looking forward to the season now. I'm predicting a surprise season. We've paid our dues.

Great shots as always Six6Six. You see the ones on the AFL pages and i always reckon yours are better.

Could Melbourne have Western Bulldogs-like resurgence in 2016?
alias275 replied to Curry & Beer's topic in Melbourne Demons
We just have to play with consistent intensity and do the best we can with our skills. That half forward line pressure was a sight for sore eyes. We continue that along with strict game plan execution and we have the youth to repeat what the Bulldogs done. GWS are certainly no easy beats anymore and i do not want to be the first team to lose to the top up Dons. Worsfold is a brilliant coach and will get everything out of those players. My wish is to be 2 and 0, somewhat top of the ladder and facing the Roos with momentum. -
Watts wants to stay but will explore free agency.

If he signs a deal now. It'll be for diddly squat. Instead, he plays his guts out. Increases his value as a player. Grabs a few offers from rival clubs and gets the MFC to match or better for another 3 years. It's simple stuff. We'd all do the same. -
We should rest Gawn, Hoges and Salem for the Dogs
alias275 replied to Deespicable's topic in Melbourne Demons
I know the work rate of professional AFL football is very different to premier division football in the Sydney AFL, which i played. But, i use to always find the week off made me more prone to injuries, then when i played week in, week out. Just the physical side of a game always felt like it kept the body hard. 2 weeks between a game softened me up. I know a fair few of here played. Do you agree? -
I watched the GWS v Dogs game and if the Western Bulldogs can provide a 85%+ full strength team. It'll be a really good test for our group. They looked very fast and very slick at most times. If we execute well, i see no reason why we can't win the next one too. All comes down to our skill execution. How great was big Maxy. Linking up in the ball movement. Getting around the ground. Second efforts in the middle. If he keeps this up, he'll be hotter property than our big Hoges. Like my 70 year old man will always say. "Every game of football is won out of the middle and it all starts with your ruckman". I'm keeping a lid on this win.

Every interview Jack does, he always refers to the club as 'we'. Even when referring to new players on our list. It's like in his brain he is the club. That's how locked in he is with the MFC. It would take one big falling out for Jack to ever leave.
