  1. Nah.......too important to the AFL - look forward to some weasel words..... "minimal impact"....."negligent not reckless or deliberate"...."opponent came back on".......etc...etc

Yep, spot on monoccular. AFL spin will prevail most likely.

  2. I am so lost

Has Roos categorically said no to us yet? I thought I saw an article a few weeks ago where he flat out said he wont be coaching anywhere next year

We know he said no to Brisbane, which is understandable because who would wanna live there.

    but what about us?

Sorry mate. Billy2803 has kindly informed us that no one cares, not even the media. So we'll probably never know what happens. You're probably just delusional.

  3. I don't have time with posts like this, but I'll highlight why I made the comment;

    You believe we sell papers.

I don't think I need any more proof to support my delusional comment.

And yet you keep coming back...

Everyone here is speculating, but you think you're in a position to call people delusional?

We get a mention in the paper regularly even if its not directly our controversy or story.

If I'm delusional then you're just plain ignorant.

  4. Do you really think the sporting world, or for that matter, the AFL community could give a toss about who we announce as our next coach?

    Yes, I do.

Us making an announcement will not draw attention away from anything else that's going on.

    Yes, it will.

We are an insignifcant club in the eyes of most.

No, we are not. We sell a lot of papers and the general public would be interested in our current status.

    Of the 3 leading candidates, the reaction/headline will be;

If Roos is appointed - Melbourne got their man, but is he doing it for the right rea$on$?

If Eade is appointed - logical appointment given he still has the desire to coach and we wanted someone with experience

If Williams is appointed - logical appointment given he still has the desire to coach and we wanted someone with experience

What's the one thing the 3 potential appointments have in common? It's hardly newsworthy. The only appointment that will possibly interest some would be Roos, just to see if he is the magician that we all think he is and can turn this train wreck around.

It's only a matter of time til I start reading on here about us not announcing a new sponsor because the cricket's on, or the tennis, or the ballet. And that we are waiting to make an announcement to get "maximum exposure".

The sooner our supporters realise we are like a homeless person in the street the better. The average Joe just walks past and totally ignores us, while every now and then, someone might stop to read what's on the sign we are holding up, feel sorry for us, then move on. When the Club understands this, which I have no doubt PJ does, then we can use this as one of the driving factors to improve, because basically, people are expecting us to die. We will not be significant (or newsworthy) again until we show a sign of life. I'm as passionate as anyone on here, but I'm also not in denial.

You write a lot but it is as speculative as anything written here. Good luck with your thesis.

  5. Saturday September 28.

Paul Roos to parachute into the MCG on Grand Final Day carrying the Premiership Cup. He will be wearing a MFC blazer, smoking a pipe and have Cameron Ling sitting on his lap.

Whilst "Rock you like a Hurricane" by The Scorpions plays at an obscene volume.

    Awesome.

  6. I'm not sure that a free kick and 50 metre penalty is a wise choice for any rotation over the cap.

It is going to be another thing for the interchange steward to flap up.

Surely merely stopping any further rotations once the cap is reached is the logical answer?

In the event of an injury forcing a rotation then you could apply a penalty or an exception as warranted.

  7. What they have regarding Melbourne is a single text saying that Trenners should stop by the Pharmacy and pick up the AOD cream. No mention of the number 9640 or whatever it is. Given that a pharmacy isn't going to stock a substance now approved for human use, I think we're safe on that front.

"The pharmacy" refers to the Como Compounding Pharmacy, here in Melbourne's South Yarra where Dank sourced his supplements.

  8. Wasn't Dunn's name mentioned?

Not with performance enhancement. But he has been a bit more aggro with the niggle and the guernsey pulling.

I recall Dunn being mentioned on the "730 Report" in the context that other players had reported good results and he wanted to get on board. There were several other players (other than Trengove) mentioned in that conversation that I cannot recall.

    Link to 730 report- http://www.abc.net.au/7.30/content/2013/s3740340.htm?

DAN BATES TO STEVE DANK (male voiceover): "Lynden Dunn would like an injection on Thursday if possible (good about Dunny asking, as he is doing it because the other guys have said they feel good). Dan."

  9. I have a funny feeling in my waters that we may even know this coming Monday....either that or I need to wee

I can imagine that the AFL will force us to announce our new coach to draw attention away from the currently unfolding disaster at Essendon and get it off the back page. (Probably still be on the front page though)
