Why are you comparing Billings with Daicos? We are not trying to pick up a Daicos. Yes Daicos has a higher MG but only by 40m. Their average MG/Disposal is exactly the same. If JB is fit and can do a preseason then he will be a good acquisition. His 2019 form was excellent.

I think you will find Dazzle brought up Daicos first.

Didn't say that at all mate lol. Just said that Sydney are cleaning up well in filling in the needs that they have identified immediately.

So what does that make McAdam and Fullerton to us then? One didn't even play a game this year and another was actually left out by Adelaide and had half a year in the reserves (even though I think he'll be an okay pick up).

I think our focus will be moving up the draft order during the trade period but we still have holes in our side that still needs addressing.

I like Sydney's ability to get on the front foot straight away and get the players they want and could come in immediately and have an instant impact.

No names can become names. Big names can be over rated.

2022 MFC drafts = Grundy and Hunter. A premiership captain and a multiple AA.

Apologise to Hunter, he was good this year. Fullerton will provide more forward craft.

horse is gonna be hoarse from all the yelling he does at poor old dean cox when grundy is standing in the middle of the scg not pushing forward nor back

Grundy will be doing a light jog, sometimes moving into a light sprint back and forth, miss reading the flight of the ball.

  4. Grundy was poor for us this year. He could not provide an attacking or defensive element to the team or his game. He just wanted to work to his strengths and that is purely around the ball as a ruck/midfielder.

When I say attacking, I mean as a marking target moving forward from anywhere on the field, and he was poor providing a defensive element on the last line of defence. His ability to read the ball in flight is average….. His ability to work hard was questionable at times too.

Grundy is a very good player, not a great player. The Swans will miss Hickey for his aggression and ability to work hard.

Ghost are playing at John Cain Arena tonight. I was driving down Olympic Boulevard and all of sudden it looked like Halloween, but with mostly middle aged men in too much make up.

    It’s been a weird week.

Well it’s not Mardi Gras or Pride week. It is very weird. Maybe there is more to this week than realised.

    Gotta love Melbourne

  6. Just trying to lighten a mood around here. Apparently Watermelons prices are thru the roof, a un named player with red hair is a point of discussion, reminiscing the banana conversations on this thread years back, bringing it back to Watermelons, then thought about your name.

It seems I got lost in translation

Substitute 'Oliver' for 'Petty' in that statement, how convinced would we be?

Personally, I don't think he goes (nor does Clayton), but just sayin'...

    Is Clarry a forward 🧐😂😳?

    I’m not convinced

Im going to again offer a counter view.

If as you suggest Oliver is untouchable..  no one would have enquired.

Somewhere... someone... has let a door crack open.

No one asks about Max, Trac or Jack... but strangely there's a story surrounding Clarry.

    Think about that.

TMZ has stories of Hollywood too.

Think about it. Clarry was taking drugs, therefore explaining his extended hamstring issue according to some media this year. Not true!

I have no inside knowledge, but I say “Move on! Nothing to see here”

If there is whispers of a disagreement within the club, taking it to, he is tradable is a massive stretch… the kid is a generational player.

  9. The counter argument is, as all clubs, there are untouchables!! Clarry is exactly that.

Max, May, Trac, Viney (as he is a son of a club great), Lever all sit in the same club as Clarry.

I’m not in charge and don’t suffer foolish conversations easily……

Soz if you felt I was denigrating you.

    just saying…

Am going to proffer a different  view.

Whilst essentially Clarry you would think is a no go area... is he ? Is anyone ??

The club should ( due diligence) listen. It may then choose to laugh, guffaw...or  ponder.

Im not for one moment putting him up for trade.   But listening doesn't cost.

Oliver is rare, dare i say unique. But we did cope.

    Nothing is carved in stone.

    Maybe Oliver might take note.

Sometimes Bub it seems you post for the sake of posting.. conversation is great, but not for the sake of it.

    Just saying

  11. Every KPF is linked to us….. sounds like the media is seeing a hole and linking us to anyone and everyone.

Every Bulldog KPF is seen as bait as they have a surplus.

Reid and WC pick 1 is seen as available due to not being a native

I could make this [censored] up. FFS

    Ridiculous

The H McKay contract is reportedly $1M per year until end 2029

    That's a lot of money

I’m not over the new EBA. Is $1M too big given the pay increases afforded to AFL players moving forward?

How did we end up with so many Laurie "type" players. If you include Spargo and Bedford we probably have 6 of these players of the same type, height and skill level.

Did we come up with a Hibberd understudy.... can't think of one

Someone please tell me we're throwing the kitchen sink at getting Jed Walter. I don't even care if it's not true. The kid will be an absolute superstar....imo

We are throwing in the kitchen sink at Jed Walter. Mark my words!

Carton and Lions benefit from F/S again. I’m sure there is a lost Daicos brother coming through the ranks too.

Seriously when are we going to get a top 5 F/S. So many top 8 teams have benefited of 2-3 top 10 picks in recent times. You just know when we get our turn they’ll be some sort of rule change.

Viney at pick 26 was a winner!! Just need more of his like.

Jeff White’s son may bring as much in 2 years. Kynan Brown may surprises and become a solid player too.

Mihocek alone won't solve our problems.

He's a great player yes, but how many years will we get from him (he too will be 31 next year) and at what price? now that he's a premiership player and 5x leading goal kick for Collingwood. We'll be paying maximum value for a player with 2 years left at best.

Keitel isn't proposed as a stand-alone replacement. However, if we're to fill this full forward void and develop some depth we need multiple acquisitions (of differing salary cap values) to cover Schache, McDonald, and Brown who are are not worthy or cooked or both.

I think Reds point was Mihocek was also a mature age recruit, playing lesser leagues when Collingwood nabbed him.
