Logging back on for the first time in ages just to say I bloody loved that angry rant from Andy. I was cracking up in the car, sensational.

Give us a glimmer of that passion from absolutely anywhere within the club.

Love the pod, boys. Thanks for fronting up each week.

When I read what some have said about Gary Pert here, you would think he started life in 2023! In the interests of providing a full picture of his VFL/AFL life, I have listed some key moments.

    Gary Pert

VFL schoolboys tour of Ireland 1981

Made his senior debut in 1982 as a 16 year old

    163 games for Fitzroy

State of Origin team in 1984 as an 18 year old

    VC for Fitzroy in 1988

    70 games for Collingwood

    Played for Victoria 6 times

    AA team 1985

    Fitzroy Best & Fairest 1989

    Fitzroy Team of the Century

    CEO of Collingwood 2007 – 2017

    CEO of Melbourne 2018 -

That makes him CEO of two Premiership teams!

I make that 43 years of decorated service so far!

Staff culture comes back to the CEO. It's time to move him on.

Well sure but they’re in charge..

My point was more that if they don’t trust themselves to make the decisions they should go, no indications so far that they don’t.

Whether demonlanders want an external review right now or not is a bit irrelevant because it’s not up to us.

The Deemocracy website is at least one avenue to push for an external review, whether you're a fan of Peter Lawrence or not.

Everybody causes major friction at the Pies; Buckley, Malthouse, Eddie, Wright etc etc

It is a sign of a factionalised organisation, like the Bombers.

If you are not making enemies as a CEO of a footy club you are not doing your job.

    Which enemies did PJ make?

  5. I like McAdam. McAdam wants to come to the Demons. The Demons want to give reasonable compensation for him cause we're just cool people like that.

Crows don't want to let McAdam go for reasonable compo and want to force contracted players over instead.

    Doing the maths, Adelaide sucks.

Tom Morris is such a germ.

If Adelaide want us to let go of Petty, our only decent KPF outside JVR, in a team that couldn't score enough to win a final, send us Fogarty.

  7. Not the best comparison, but we wouldn't have let Weideman go if we didn't have Schache to replace him. Same for Petty, no way he leaves for a couple of draft picks if there's no one to replace him.

McAdam already wants to come to us, there's no sense tying him to any Petty interest.

Agree. It’s just a bluff. Grundy will get to Sydney. It’s just at what number and how much of his contract is paid by Pies, Dees and Swans. AFL Sudoku at work.
Grundys recruitment and departure after one year will be remembered as one of the biggest “head scratcher” trade deals done by the Dees.

Up there with Brayden Preuss & Luke Dunstan for 'why on earth would you choose there?'

We must give a mean PowerPoint presentation.

When we first got good I enjoyed seeing Melbourne players be a big part of these awards. Now I barely care. Jack won't either.

Bodes well and also makes logical sense that the two teams in the league that have now been top 4 the longest - us and Brisbane, have only 1 player each. It just means people don't notice how good we are anymore because they expect it, and because our contributions are very even across the side.

100%. Same reason coach of the year always goes to most improved rather than most consistently good coach.

We love our giant heads! They look amazing and they’re a huge part of our display, or should I say a GIANT part of our display.

Some of our regulars are irreversibly attached to their favourite giant head, not physically of course, but just try to take their fave and hopefully you’ve got your will in order. It ain’t happenin’ 😳

I got to hold giant Riv yesterday but only because the usual custodian was asked by her friend to hold up a Tommy Sparrow mini banner so she could see it on TV. I was told in no uncertain terms to “Look after him!!!”

Sorry mate, wrong time & place for my comment. Thanks for what you do for the club.

The viewing experience at this ground is atrocious

I will never understand why you bother coming to the footy only to spend half the game going in and out of your seat to drink. Like why not get drunk for free at home?

    That sounds a little jaded
