Potential Trades [Warning: Reading this thread may self-destruct]
Bluelegs replied to Dr evil's topic in Melbourne Demons
What a surprise. -
We should have stopped dealing with Collingwood ages ago. Instead we should have gone straight to North and offered Clark for Greenwood

If we can get Kennedy for 2+3 I'd do it in a heartbeat 2+3+23 even. The guy would do so much for this football club that drafting two kids couldn't manage in a thousand years. He's an absolute superstar and would bring hope to the playing group, and the supporters. We've been in hole for 8 years, bottom 6 every single year. I'm amazed Chunk has stuck by us this long, but if things don't change quickly he will walk out the door and he will be followed by Dunn, Howe, Hogan, and even Viney. This football club NEEDS a hero like Kennedy to come in, it's not about our next premiership it's about ensuring the football club can survive the next decade in an environment that is becoming rapidly one sided. That being said I simply cannot see Sydney or Kennedy accepting an offer from us. There is just no reason for a team or player in a premiership window to take that deal.

Potential Trades [Warning: Reading this thread may self-destruct]

Oh I'm sorry I guess we should rely on GNF's sources which he posts with all his info (see: riddles). I'm putting two and two together. -

A dude making up bs and taking the [censored] with a bunch of vague riddles is not good for anyone. The most obvious answer is the right one: We knew exactly what was going on with Trengoves foot, we tried to get something for him while he still had value, he failed his medical, we get nothing. There was never a big trade, there was never a team willing to give up an a grader for a couple of picks, let alone two teams. I mean seriously, the guy claimed we would be getting two A-graders who would be the best players in our squad and we would hold onto pick 2. How on earth could that have possibly happened? -

I agree. If he actually knows something and can't say anything then why post anything at all. To follow it up with half a dozen mind-numbing riddles is bewildering and then to not drop the act in the wake of the Trengove situation is just pathetic. -

I can't believe he has the gall to keep up the facade after this shocking news. -

Jack Trengove re-injures his navicular (2014) - trade deal off
Bluelegs replied to Wiseblood's topic in Melbourne Demons
Of course they did, Richmond were doing their due diligence. I find it hard to believe we were shopping him around in confidence that his Navicular was all fixed up. -

Posted this in the other thread, seems more appropriate here: Seems pretty clear what is going on. We realise Trengove's foot is done and we try to sell him to Richmond while he still has value. In the meantime we try to shop around our potential picks, see if anyone is interested (I very much doubt anyone was). GNF what the hell is going on? You throw us round the bend on this stupid guessing game? Feel for Trengove, has been dealt a really [censored] hand in life, and if we tried to shop around an injured player then the club has a lot to answer for too. Will only have burned our bridges with any future trades with Richmond. -

That was always the deal. It's overs yes, most of us were content with is if it paved the way to a star but so far there is nothing of any substance to suggest we'll get one. The only thing of interest is that no one in the media can really work out what we're up to. -

Trengove and 23 to Richmond for 12. Will likely be wrapped up today apparently. -

Being reported on Trade radio as we speak that the deal is all but done. -

My worry is that we've never really been very good at this, our record of pulling off these kinds of exceptional trades is not great... -

And yet not one person outside of the club has managed to catch wind of who that might be? I find that hard to believe. If his foot was shot Richmond would not be interested. -

It's looking more and more likely Trengove will be walking over to Punt road today and so far we've got nothing to show for it but stupid riddles and a shaky promised from GNF that we're 'probably' getting a really good player or two out of this, that none of us or anyone else can work out or catch wind of who that might possibly be. Christ, Melbourne what the hell are you doing... -
Caroline Wilson's descent into gutter journalism
Bluelegs replied to titan_uranus's topic in Melbourne Demons
Wow Caro really is milking this for all she can. No new information contained in that article and a writer who once condemned the AFL for their incompetence when it came to the tanking issue is now defending them. Caro seems to be writing AFL propaganda now, and it's unsurprising. For a case which the AFL have seemed desperate to keep confidential it's amazing how much information Wilson has managed to extort from loose-lipped witnesses. Surely the AFL would tell these witnesses to not talk to the press about a confidential investigation. Amazing that they didn't listen and all of them spilled their guts to Wilson and only her. No. Caroline has one source in all of this, that is the AFL who are doing damage control of their own to create a visage of villainy that would be the Melbourne Football Club, and why wouldn't they? The AFL have been, for years, slammed for their ignorant approach to the tanking issue. Too afraid to open that can of worms which could expose an issue that has plagued the competition for up to ten years. Unfortunately their hand has been forced and in order to avoid the massive embarrassment they've paid off a journalist who has a lust for a good exposé. So Caro has sold her soul to the AFL for the chance to break the biggest story of the year and now writes vitriolic propaganda pieces to protect the reputation of the white collars who run the joint and have been shown up for their incompetence to enforce the rules of the game, and creating an environment where cheaters believed they could prosper. -
So will this be a new form of tanking? Who cares about draft picks, sponsorships are where it's at

No place in this forum. Ban him!

Break his leg.
-
It's on the main AFL website, I think it was taken from there.

I'm going to be the cynic and say that a lot of players haven't sprouted due to the losing culture that has plagued the club of late.
