  1. Don't stress. When it is a sunday game Gameday always just puts in the first 4 players named on the bench and our bench was PJ Jones Whelan Warnock McLean HOlland Petterd.

So although Warnock has travelled (which is normal - we always take an emergency over), I don't think there is any reason to expect Petterd to be out.

Yeah godees is right, i think it was the port game, and i had a look at the list and warnock wasnt there, but he played against port, so there is probably no need to worry.

  2. WEST COAST

    B: Wirrpanda, Glass, B.Jones

    HB: Stenglein, Hunter, Selwood

    C: Rosa, Priddis, Braun

    HF: Hurn, Hansen, Chick

    F: Waters, Lynch, R.Jones

    FOLL: Seaby, Judd, Kerr

    I/C: Fletcher, Morton, Cox, Staker

    EM: LeCras, Brown, Armstrong

    IN: Cox, Fletcher, Morton

    OUT: LeCras, Brown, Armstrong

    MELBOURNE

    B: Ward, Carroll, Yze

    HB: Brown, Ferguson, Bell

    C: Bate, McDonald, Davey

    HF: Green, Miller, Bruce

    F: Sylvia, Neitz, Dunn

    FOLL: White, Godfrey, Johnstone

    I/C: P.Johnson, Jones, Whelan, Petterd

    EM: Holland, Warnock, McLean

    IN: Whelan, Petterd, Ferguson

    OUT: Moloney, Warnock, Holland

    Field umpires: McBurney, Head, Hendrie

Great to see Petterd back in the team, and i hope he can cement his spot in the 22 and stay clear of injury

  3. agree on moloney being out, he needs to prepare for next season and make sure that he is clear of OP, i think the final changes will be

    IN:Petterd and Ferguson

    OUT: Warnock, Moloney

Mclean and whelan should be 100% fit before they make their way back in the team

ND probably thinks we are still in the finals race and won't carry warnock also there is big Q, and with fergs good form he'll get his go. Petterd has been impressive and i think ND will be keen to let him cement his spot in the 22. Ward or Doggy may be free'd up on the wing to carry the ball. Ricky is skilful with the ball and a more reliable option on the hbf.

I'm still 50/50 with ND, some part of me says he should stay for what he has done for the club and his unluckiness with the injuries, but he has been there for a while, so hopefully we make the right decision at the end of the season.

  4. Things I'd like to see:

    - Newton in the FP

    - S.Buckley on the HBF

    - C.Johnson played for at least half a season.

    - Miller on a wing

    - Frawley's debut

    - Neaves promoted due to Bizzell retiring

    - Neitz playing 300 ganes

I'd like to see the same thing too, i also wouldn't mind seeing moloney rested for the season, with his OP and all

and with all you guys on fergs, i wouldn't mind seeing some other fringe players, so if we are lucky they might raise their trade value or perhaps prove themselves as handy depth.

  5. miller will be a goner this season, you don't win games by marking, you win them by kicking goals. the most important feature of a foward is their goal kicking, if they can't kick goals, then they are useless and shouldn't be in the team.

  6. Plenty of crap or just regularplayers have been picked in the top 4. We will finish 10 or 11 and get pick 6 or 7. I'd rather see us fight and see a few wins than fall over and lose every week like we have. Look at Fiora, and even players like Brennan, Goddard, Sylvia, Ray, etc who will play many games for their team, but none look like they will be superstars of the competition. Kerr was selected in the teens, S burgoyne was at about 8, Cox was a rookie, Dal Santo was at 13, etc etc A top 4 pick doesn't guarantee anything

    Well said. Couldnt agree more.

Disagee, the youngsters need to be played and yes we need to do what port did last year. Drafting can become a bit of a lottery, but if you have the right tools and know what you are doing than it probably won't have any effect. The great thing our club has is CAC, he is one of the best recruiters going around at the moment and knows what quality is when he sees it. In 2003 when we had a horror season, who did we pick up? Mclean and Sylvia, these two guys look like they will be taking us to a premiership if we can get our list right. If we have higher picks in this year draft it will give us a chance to find another star.

  7. so no well done for sydney at any stage for making a gf and losing by a point? you honestly saying you didnt say well done after spanking the pies at the g last year or topping the swans. good on the boys, i say that because that's the endeavour that will get us to the top of the table, for the full 26 weeks, not the first 15

In footy it doesn't matter about a game like that, it all comes down to the last week in september

  8. Melbourne won a flag in 64 there is no well done until we get the next one. Sorry guys i am not HAPPY!

i agree with ya tooly, i ain't happy about the loss, but i was still impressed with the effort. At least this year we know that we will get some quality in the draft.

  9. the thing i would like to see now is the youngsters getting as much game time as possible and perhaps some fringe players getting a game, just so they can rise their trade value and get us a better deal in the draft, but number 1 is playing the youngsters.

  10. These guys look like the likely delistings or trades this season

Miller hasn't really done anything and i think he will come under scutiny with some of other young fowards finding their feet. He doesn't have a presense and only appears when the game is lost. It's harsh, but we all have our opinions. He will probably be used as trade bait and hopefully we can suck in a second round draft pick for him.

Bizzel looks like a definite delisting, the game seems to have passed him and the coaching staff have lost faith in him

Wheatley Looks like he may be a goner, he doesn't have enough hardness in his game and with our list shaping the way it is

Ferguson most people's views on him is that he is only up to vfl standard and will never for some reason get muscle into his game, but he still might remain as depth

Brown and Ward both quite similar, and next year will probably become depth, hopefully our youngsters like CJ and ricky can take their places. At the moment i think ward will be kept on our list, his dash is important in todays game and he will want to retain his spot with his financial situations.

Holland is getting old, but we still need a big body for the gorilla fowards

Jamar rucking is no good, and all round skills aren't there, he looks like a certain delisting

Godfrey with his good form at the moment it is hard to put him on the list, but we know what is worst can be

  11. Great work again from godfrey, he has finally learnt the 'art' of tagging. West was well held and didn't really have any influnce on the game. Looks like Godders knows how to get under people's skin, which i think has defineately helped him become a better tagger .

  12. sylvia had a great game, he will only get better and who knows he may become that x-factor. He almost won us the game with that great mark and goal. He was also a foward option today, which is very important. Our foward structure isn't looking good at the moment. Neita hasn't found his spark yet, miller, no offense to him, but he was useless again and Dunn was played up the ground. As you know he didn't have a proper pre-season and i reckon he will only get better.

Good luck next week, keep up the hard work and soon you'll reach the same level as brock. and who knows we may have 2 stars in the making

  13. He has the ability to become a star, all he needs is time and he will learn through experience, the player i can see him developing into is chapman, from geelong. Chapman is a very good player and hard at it, i could easily see sylvia resolving his game around his, but who knows what will happen we just have to wait and see
