lol this stuff about newts is pretty crazy, hope he gets his chance and plays a blinder
also if neita misses this week and next week he will be able to play his 300th at home
-
let him play this week, he will get a a taste of afl level. we will then know how he is progressing and he himself will know where to improve. Richmond are wooden spooners this year for sure. Give newts a game, cause with the time he's had to wait, he'll make his debut when he's 25
-
Demonland, do you know where i can check out the other past years(2003,2004)?
-
Great to hear about hayes with 3 BOG's, hope he can find his way into the seniors soon
Sucks about the lost, how did the dees fellas go in the seniors? and how did newts go?
-
The season is over, so we may aswell have some fun, Dees by 112, Bater will kick 9
-
I still ain't sure if we should keep neale or not, but it might be tougher now with the support of robbo and neita.
You make alotta good points, but the big question is, who will replace him?
-
Still aswell as resigning ND, i wouldn't mind him giving the youngsters a chance for the rest of the season, and i still reckon we need to fix some of the holes in our list
-
agree with doggo, we had sautner,Newton, Dunn, and Miller. That's 4 big forwards, it shouldn't have been to hard for one of them to score a big bag.
-
Great to see PJ getting better and he has cemented his spot, but i still wouldn't mind picking up another ruckman in this years draft.
-
Still reckon Miller needs another week or 2, but great effort by him, Newton, Dunn, Buckley. Hopefully bucks can make his debut on Friday night for johnstone, it would be great to see us blood some more youngsters.
With Miller i think that it was gonna be pretty easy for a big forward to kick a bag, their was Newton,Miller, Dunn, Sautner. That's 4 big lads, and the best team in the comp. We are doing well at the moment with bater and he definately deserves his spot.
Hopefully Dunn and Newts can keep their consistency up and can earn a spot in the 22
also great to hear that Hayes and Neville did well, and hope they can find there way into the seniors

Great stuff from chooka over the last few weeks, he will only get better and i want him as captain asap
-
sad to see him go, jimmy is a legend, and wish him all the best after afl
-
we should start preparing for the upcoming years now. We still have question marks with our spine, and we have several players reaching the 30 mark. We have a great group of talented players and i don't want to see them suffer like neita has. We need the priority pick and a high pick, because with it, it will solve the problems our team has.
-
Frawls is great, and should be played for the rest of the season, considering we are going no where this year. Let him develop and soon he will be a star
-
Miller will be traded/delisted this season, bate did a much better job than him, and we have dunn and newton in the reserves
-
You're not Marcus from Point Lonsdale are you?? That guy was hilarious.
We do need to be more ruthless, we do need to become tougher, and we need to stand united and not take any more mediocrity right down from the bootstudder to the CEO.
the title of this thread is fantastic.
lol, that marcus guy was hilarious
Jaded, i believe everything you said, cause i am the same and will be with the Red and Blue my entire life.
-
Great win, but we shouldn't get carried away with this win, we need to think long term instead of short, and hope we can find more excitement come this years draft, with a possible pick 1,2 or 3
-
Most certainly if not Brock, then Green as our next captain.
Great game from greeny and hope he can keep the consistency up, but for captain i can only see one guy, that is mclean
-
Great stuff to hear about Newton and Dunn, and hope they can make there way into the RED AND BLUE.
And Danny Hayes is back, which is great to hear, but i hope he doesn't waste his oppurtunity, i really wanna see this guy make it.

Heard on 3AW in the car on the way home that he had 10 1%ers, amazing effort.
He was clearly 2nd BOG today behind Green, they both were excellent.
That decision making process of his that appeared questionable early on in his career appears to be very much on the improve - his timing and his reading of the play have also come on massively this year.
Great stuff from, BOG and he will only get better and better and with the inclusions of Frawley, things are turning out pretty well.
Though i reckon the biz is pretty influential to helping bell develop his game, the biz is a very creative player and i am sure bell will learn a lot from him.

i posted this in 'the players should go thread', to some extent walls is right, but i can only see 2 out of the 5 players going. And we should definenately get more value, but if we can't we should try and load off a player or a draft pick
e.g Brad Green and 3rd round draft pick for pick 8-15
IMO we need a huge clean out and need to rebuild, our list doesn't have enough depth and has too many players hitting 30 and beyond. If we want to keep up with the future , with clubs like the hawks, carlton etc. we must rebuild or our premiership drought will continue. We can't just have a one year bomb out, like the bombers have. We already have a great bunch of younsters coming through, but at the moment our spine isn't very strong.
I reckon if we want to win a flag we must delist/trade those players who some people think are good, but actually aren't e.g Miller, Godfrey, Ferguson, Holland, Ward, Brown etc. We will/should pick up someone in the draft at 1,2 or 3 this year and next year if we bomb out and get ourselves a priority pick we will have 2 players in the top 5. With the help of CAC and perhaps a new coach we will/should be able to win a flag.

Just quietly, I think the other 15 AFL list management guys are going to read your post and discover that - surprisingly for them - guys like Godfrey and Miller aren't that good
Thus we're not going to get much in trades.
I agree with you re: our young kids - both that they look good and that we lack some bankable KPP options for the future.
Yeah that is the reality, but hopefully we can build up some trade value for those 'fringe' type players.
And lets hope those other 15 AFL list management guys don't discover my post

Great to see Sylvia and Bate back, though i am still a bit iffy about Wheatley.
Bate at CHF and Sylvia on the ball and resting up forward
Finally Miller has been dropped, should be traded at the end of the season, he has been pretty much useless over the weeks.

Neale Daniher is a gonna in my books, i can't believe we lost. If yze wasn't 100% fit, why not bring in juice? and why did we hire BB, none of our players could hold any tackles. OUr players didn't come to play and neither did the coach, so now is the time to start looking for a new coach and get rid of the players we all know should go.
I want Vossy as my new coach, he may not have the experience but i am sure he is capable of leading a team to a flag. And even if he doesn't do well in his first season, there will be the experience and a high draft pick.
