I was disgusted last night but in hindsight, there've been some really good improvements. Our disposal count turn around from last season was huge and it was just those turnovers which really cost us. Once they are stamped out for the most part we'll be cruising. Dunn and Watts under Roos so far have been very impressive and there were a few times where we really strangled the Saints and they couldn't get it out of their defensive 50. On the other hand, that was one of the few games we really should have won this year.

I was really impressed. His disposal was (as usual) impeccable and although he still wasn't as tough in the contests as others (he never will be) Watts has amazing awareness with the ball, that only a couple of the others in the side come close to.

St. Kilda v Melbourne - Match Preview & Team Selection

Can't remember the Geelong game last season? Toumpas 'tore it up' sufficiently in wet conditions. He had a number of other quite good games too. -

I agree with your notion but theoretically, Jones can't go from top 5 in BnF to fringe player in the space of one season unless we'd picked up or developed 20 players better, which we may have, though only those within the club can tell that at this point. I doubt we have. I like Jones and he has far more runs on the board in the red and blue than Blease or Byrnes. -

Possibly because he hasn't done anything since and that performance was a bit of a specialty for him. If we based selections on a good game someone had in 2012, the team would be quite different. -

'Pedo' for multiple charges and a conviction. -
He coached me for a bit a few years ago when he was playing for Carlton. Good bloke! Except for when he was giving you throw downs in the nets...

Damian Barrett on melbournefc.com.au

The people that pay Barrett for the [censored] he spouts should hang their heads in shame. -
Isn't that the sort of money we're paying Clark and Dawes who can't get on the park? Not saying I'd go after Nic Nat though.

And all before a ball is kicked in anger
Little Richard replied to Bossdog's topic in Melbourne Demons
I wouldn't call all this a meltdown, I'd say it's just the normal chart of feelings that Demonland follows, maybe even a little less stormy than usual! -
This came as a real shock to me, didn't even know he was so sick. Always seemed like a great guy on the radio and TV and the players seemed to have a heap of time for him. RIP Bails.

Having a guaranteed bye after each Darwin game would be fantastic. Couldn't see it happening though, other clubs would cut sick and claim it as an unfair advantage (which it probably is).

I don't know particulars, but it seems like we probably can't afford to go without the financial benefit. As well as that, it does well for our membership base. It was great seeing a stadium/ground dominated by Melbourne jumpers. Haven't seen that before!

Current injury / fitness status
Little Richard replied to Roos can't lose's topic in Melbourne Demons
To be honest, I'm not. I think we'll have to end up making a call on Clark at the end of the season if he doesn't get onto the park for adequate game time. God knows he's taking up a fair chunk of the cap and not doing a whole lot. Obviously not his fault and it must be ultra frustrating for him. -
A little birdy told me that a lot of the drama and Trott's breakdown was due to Swann sleeping with Trott's better half.

Smith gone very early again. Opposition captains just can't catch a break at the moment in the face of Harris and Johnson. I'd like to see them destroy Smith mentally like they did to Cook - it looks as though it may have already happened. He's faced 77 balls for the series.

Range Rovers 'resignation' was quite entertaining, even though it was some of the most self indulgent bs I'd ever read. That guy was extremely delusional.

Quite a collection!

Thanks, I'll give that a go.

Shooting my first short in the coming month, pretty pumped! Anyone seen The Raid? Apparently a kick ass kung fu cop movie, based in Indonesia. Downloaded a version but it turns out it's subtitled in French (all the dialogue is in Indonesian). Unfortunately I'm not fluent in French, though I studied Indo at school. It's all gone now though.

NAB Challenge 2 - Melbourne v Geelong
Little Richard replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Glad I got home from overseas today, in time for this match. I was really disappointed after missing the win over the Tiges but I was impressed by the improvement. Michie, Tyson, Vince and Cross all look like fantastic recruits. Jonesy was great, as expected, Watts was good, Howe played well up forward and Hogan was pretty solid for his first hit out and a couple of the other boys were okay. The nail biting, profanity gushing moments were still there (the turnovers in particular, hand balling to no one etc) but there were less than last season. We'll knock the Saints off in round 1. -
Very happy with my batting lineup as of recent times - Clarke, Taylor, Du Plessis, Bravo, Gambhir and Dhoni performing well. Bowling aside from Johnson is not very good though. Anyone know where Ajantha Mendis is theses days? Just another mystery spinner to disappear into the annals of cricketing history?

Johnson and Stokes both cited for contact (when Stokes was running and Johnson didn't move). Nothing will come of it I think.
