  1. You obviously haven't read anything I've said on this thread including my response to this post already and my 10+ posts on why i WANT Fevola at the MFC.
  2. You've only just realised the media is a selective, lying bunch of dogs? Wow.
  3. Same thing? My point was that at times you need to look at the off field discretions, see how they have been handled, and weigh it up between how the player plays footy. Fev's made mistakes, he's admitted this, he's been to rehab, he's getting counselling and he's been out of trouble this year. People change, not always, but people can change with the right environment and I strongly believe with people like Jimmy and possibly Mick at the club WE can provide this environment. We're recruiting a footy player FFS!!! not Johnny Rolemodel. You're point about Cook is exactly why we SHOULD be getting Fev in the team for the next two seasons.
  4. We missed out on Darling because of his off field discretions leading up to the season and look how he's turned out...
  5. Errrr what? 2 Coleman medals, 2 AA selections and 7 Carlton top goal scorers would disagree with you. What he has proven is that he has issues with alcohol abuse and what he has proven over the last year is that he is committed to doing everything he can to getting himself right for AFL footy. He's beent to rehab, he's going to counselling; fingers crossed he can keep up the good work. People make mistakes and yes he has made a few, but if you continously kick people down and don't given them another chance to prove themselves then that is same old Melbourne mentally which has plagued us. Look at Barry Hall to the Bulldogs, Cousins at Tigers, Krakouer at Collingwood; I wouldn't say they have negatively impacted their teams but rather provided experience and structure at a time where it was needed. As stated by many before, giving him the opportunity to do a pre-season won't hurt us given he's already at Casey. What hurts us more is spuds like Newton who have shown no potential over their entire career but are taking up spots. Fev is a proven goal scorer, how many current Melbourne players can you say the same thing about??? Edit: He also brings with him 204 games experience (where he scored 623 goals)
  6. Response: rather have that everyday of the week if it meant we didn't lose by +100 points
  7. You're absolutely right! Green and Davey have provided great leadership and skill, I am glad they aren't playing young guys instead of them. Also, you are right it doesn't make sense from a footy point of view. We have big full forward in Green, Jurrah and Watts, WOW, 3 big full forwards, we have the best forward line in the competition.....
  8. Krakouer, Shaw and Didak all play for Collingwood.
  9. I haven't heard of Fev getting in trouble at all this year. His rehab is a positive step in the right direction. As many of the pro-Fev supports are saying; give him a 2 year contract with clauses that terminate his contract in the case of any misdeamenour. At the moment we have no big bodied forward, with experience, or leadership. Atleast onfield Fev can lead by example and take the pressure of the younger forwards.
  10. We have done this twice this year. Gold Coast and Adelaide... don't kid yourself.
  11. The Forgotten Fev (incase anyone forgot): - 2 time Coleman Medallist - 3 time All-Australian - 7 time Carlton leading Goal Scorer
  12. Scary when you think most of these guys are in our best at the moment. Green/Sylvia/Davey/Morton should be disappointed in themselves.
  13. We want to poach a Big Full Forward at the end of the year. Here is our chance! - Cheap! - Minimum 1-2 years out of him - Guys like Watts/Cook can take over the reigns in 1-2 years time without competing for spots like they may if we get someone like Dawes/White etc - Fevola gets the oppositions number one defender giving guys like Watts/Jurrah/Green more freedom - Provides a REAL marketing target - Will do wonders for our forward structure (do we have one at the moment?) - Watts/Cook can learn from Fev (on field stuff only )
  14. 1. Yes (if we don't get Mick he'd be in the mix) 2. Yes x1000
  15. Unfortunately no. Unless you could prove he didn't know what he was signing and Collingwood knew this or he was insane (Obviously none of which are true). Although I still believe Mick will be at MFC in 2012
  16. I'd like to see at the very least Morton, Bate & Warnock gone.
  17. As much as I'd like to agree with you the last time they played us we barely got it into the fwd 50 so despite our forwards being better than their defence (especially without AA Glass) we wont even get it up there. With the CURRENT form of our backs their forwards are also much better. So basically they will implement the press and dominate the midfield and keep it in their forward line IMHO. I'm hoping Cox is injured and plays in their fwd 50 where Martin should do a good job on him which gives Jamar the ability to destroy Natanui and hopefully we can control the clearances. edit: FYI Last time the fwd 50 count was 65-36
  18. Sounds to me like Damo just reads D'land.
  19. Disagree. I still don't think Malthouse is out of reach. Of course he won't say he's interested in coaching a different club next year while trying to win a premiership with Collingwood now.
  20. Great to see quality and consistency from Jack who can truly hang his head high at the end of the season. His average stats Rd 6-20 are below. Jack Watts Average Rd 6-20 Disposals: 19 Marks: 6.2 Tackles: 2.3 Goals: 1.3 Well done!
  21. If my memory serves me correctly Judd played OK against us until about the 4th quarter but then smashed us because his tagger couldn't keep up with him. Why not make the subs role to tag Judd for the 4th quarter?
