  1. 1. I know that. You will notice I said we take best available. 2. Agree to a point. But a good ruckman will help us with our extremely poor rate of clearances, and a ruckman that can truly play forward is gold. 3. Any type of good player MIGHT be acquired later in the draft or by other means. As I've said, Wright is a TRUE forward/ruck. 4. Read up about Wright, he's very mobile for a big man. 5. How do you know that? Misson doesn't even know that, hence "indefinitely". Then he may even go home next year anyway. From the AFL site: "Wright is a 203cm forward/ruckman who has outstanding goalkicking skills, can mark well on the lead, and likes to roam up the ground where he has rucked at different stages."
  2. Wright is the likely number 1 pick and is a true ruck/forward swingman type. He's a big unit who's ready to play straight up. Can't pass him up! Would give us a decent succession with Jamar and Spencer doing the job while Gawn develops, then Gawn becoming the senior ruck while Wright develops and they share the role.
  3. We've lost Clark, Hogan is a mystery, Jamar is nearing the end, Spencer is not AFL standard, Gawn is another mystery... No way do we pick midfielders over KPPs if they are best available (Peter Wright).
  4. If we don't trade them.... Brayshaw and Goddard But I'd rather trade them.
  5. This is my draft target. Peter Wright. "VICTORIAN key tall Peter Wright has been dubbed better than Joe Daniher as Melbourne and Carlton eye a forward line saviour in Novembers draft. " Victorian Peter Wright dubbed better than Joe Daniher as Melbourne, Carlton eye forward saviour
  6. Not nearly enough talk about Peter Wright in this thread. Find that staggering.
  7. Best. GIF. Ever.

Do you actually research at all before posting? It's kind of like thinking before you talk. Try it sometime. LeCras has had an injury riddled year, but just for comparison sake let's compare him with Betts for you: Disposals Goals Marks Tackles LeCras 16 1.8 5.1 3.1 Betts 10.7 1.6 2.6 2.9

There's some talk about it in the Frawley thread... Maybe the mods can change the title of the Frawley one to have Watts as well

Damn right we are, you won't leave me alone...

I'm guessing it would cost the same as getting Betts... Especially seeing as Carlton wouldn't want to give up they're only performing forward. Tell you what mate, if Le Cras doesn't play well this year I'll change my name here to stupid for a month, if he does then, well you won't have to change yours as it's synonymous with stupidity.

Haha who said anything about paying millions? Yeah let's just pass on a superstar cos he's coming back from an injury 18 months before we'd go after him... They're both the same age, but Betts has been the sole true forward option for a decent performing team and Le Cras for a very poor but then very good team. In their last 3 seasons Betts has kicked 150, Le Cras has kicked 168. As a crumbing forward i don't think the ACL he's coming back from (after having the full operation and recovery, no short cuts) will hinder him like it would a high leaping big forward. If you look at their output there's not a huge difference, so to bag someone's footy knowledge for edging out Le Cras over Betts is stupidity, which is your usual standard.

Can't see Milne having a positive effect on our culture. Le Cras would be my pick out of those 3, if he was in a Vic team he would get even more attention and be classed a no-doubt superstar.

Saw most of the Geelong game(s)... Riv looked good. Same stuff he's always done but now he has a good midfield around him to link up with. Will be very handy for the Cats.

Let it go mate. It was barely funny to begin with but it's bordering on harassment now. Seriously.

Ohhhhh that's why so many clubs were after him....

    Hahahahahahahahahahahaha..... mercy

Ok, I get what you're saying then. But bugger me I wish we could have got him!
  19. stuie replied to Range Rover's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Wrong. Daniher would go top 3 easy if it weren't for father/son. Pick 13 is pick 13.
  20. stuie replied to Range Rover's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Yeah that must be why there's no buzz about him and no other teams are after him.......

Didn't say they never happen, but you really think the AFL won't be on our a$$ after all the tanking stuff etc, is it really a smart risk to take to go outside of the rules and risk serious sanctions against a club already on it's knees from a list perspective?

    Jesus Christ......

I hear ya rpfc, and I agree with what you're saying, I'm just very worried for my beloved footy club, turns out 2012 really was nearly the end of the world (for MFC supporters) just like the Mayans predicted!
  24. stuie replied to Range Rover's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm not saying we shouldn't do whatever we can, but I would be worried that if we went outside the rules we could very easily get shafted in what is our most important offseason possibly ever, and we may never recover.

Can't understand the people that think we can do some kind of "don't bid on Viney" deal with teams... It's against the AFL's rules and whichever team we tried to make said deal with could then pick him and we wouldn't have a leg to stand on. It's not Supercoach guys...
