I presume we may lose 2 players because GWS has concessions for 2 years, not 1 like GC. So we may well lose a player each year eg Scully & Trengove (Trengove is contracted til 2012).

As far as I understand the 1 player per club rule is still in place. They just have 2 years to try and get them.

I wonder when the organisers of the All-Stars game are going to inform our ABC of the change of venue and date?

I notice that the Foxtel programme guide is still billing the game as a live telecast from Darwin's Marara Oval on channel 102 at 8.30pm next Saturday.

Yeah, I really hope they dont stuff that up. Online tv guides are still showing it as 8:30 saturday also.

Nick48 in 'Ology reports that Davey and Jurrah will be away at the Indigenous camp during the week in preparation for the All-stars game in Alice Springs. I Just checked the AFL website. The match in Alice Springs will be on Friday night (4/2/11).

In relation to the intraclub - does anybody know which of our indigenous boys will be playing in the All Stars game on the Friday night following the intraclub? I remember reading Jurrah and Wonna's names in an article a few months back but was wondering if the team has been released?

I would say a win or loss in the NAB is the small picture and meeting the needs of the endangered supporter base is the big one

Don't you think that winning at AAMI for the first time in forever would have some rather important flow on effects? Maybe which would provide important results in the important home and away season? Or are we just looking at the little picture here?

has it occurred to you that some people might be of the opinion that one day of extra prep - in fact 3 quarters of a day if you compare 6pm to say midday the next day - for a NAB CUP match is not exactly a hugely important consideration compared to having a proper supporters day, generating both financial revenue and morale amongst the supporter base? Attendance would be triple on a Saturday, poor decision from the club IMO.

Has it occurred to you that the club might be of the opinion that winning the nab games in Adelaide is more important?

But it isn't about us - its about the team. We have our trip to Adelaide the following Friday, so playing a Friday night intraclub would not have been the best preparation. Looks like they were not happy with Casey turf as I had heard.

Hopefully those without work commitments can venture down to save the sanity of the rest of us.

Definitely correct. There was an article titled Melbourne announces key dates or something similar last week or the week before from memory. It will be there somewhere
