  1. Don't worry about chip he'll be alright - like reiwoldt not running into an open goal again when marked in the square - chip won't let it bounce again. This is far more worrisome; "My own performance wasn't too bad. Waite had been in good form coming into the game, so I had a big focus on shutting him out, he kicked a few goals but I think one on one, I did okay." J rivers take a bow.
  2. Judd J Reiwoldt Chapman
  3. Yes I know how hard it is, I played in the ruck for 20 years, swapping into the forward line - the curse of the tall kid - What experience have you got? Let's develop him for another 3 years just so we can be sure he's a spud. Every time the footy goes through him, he hesitates. Throwing our structures out. I watch him get it on the wing hesitate, by then Jurrah, green, watts to have lead and doubled back taking away any advantage - not so much yesterday but in the first games this season definitely. 6 clearances does not impress me, it just goes to show how insipid the rest of the team contributed. He didn't just not tap to advantage, he barely negated goldstein at all. We are a weaker team with him in it. He'll get another game next week - against a ruck man that Roughhead didn't just negate - but won around the ground. Lets see how he 'stands up' next week. If he plays well i'll eat my hat, the question is when jamar is back and martin is back in the 2's - will you?
  4. 21 hitouts to north Melbourne players. Whats the point of getting a hit out if it's not down a team mates throat. He's a spud. He hesitates constantly, he's just not a natural footballer and never will be.
  5. Really glad you guys aren't forecasting for my shop!
  6. Roflcoast eagles!!!!!! Go demons.
  7. EssenLOL.... He was useless on Tuesday's match. Still yet to see anything that hasn't come from team confidence from this kid.
  8. Development is a defeatest attitude and the club shouldnt stand for it.
  9. I don't think it's spin at all. He's as fed up as most of us are with insipid performance. Will not be tolerated by 2nd gamers or 200 gamers. No more excuses.
  10. Yeah this bloke never got a result from yelling...
  11. Do you lot honestly think Dean Bailey didn't have a go at his team at the end of that match?
  12. Having someone who is idolised as a club legend saying - Unacceptable and pull your finger out - is inspiring. It's been happening for thousands of years in war and about 100 years in footy. Coaches inspiring players and Captains (even past players) lifting a team up is nothing new.
  13. fickle? I'll still go everyweek. Mediocrity is 18 men in the back half - not being able to innovate a way to break a zone defence. Not having the ticker to push harder and lay tacking pressure. Doing your job in the team. HElping each other out. I've watched and said - you know what they're just kids. ENOUGH. not anymore. Schwarta or Neita (Any club great for that matter) needs to go down to those rooms tell them its unacceptable. I don't care if you have played 1 game or 200. If you want to play for melbourne FC - STAND UP. We've been through the pain, now it's time to stand up and be counted.
  14. Yelling is better than accepting insipid performance. 18 players in the back half = poor coaching. Make the players keep to a structure. that forces everyone to get out of the back half! It was disgusting football. Jurrah goes into the backline, takes his player with him. His player gets the ball. Jurrah stands there watching. The same for all the forwards. Get out of the back half! You know what made me laugh today. Reading that dave dunbar is our innovations coach yesterday in the age in the spying article. Innovate some forward pressure. Innovate some tackling pressure. Innovate a midfield that can win the footy. Innovate a kick-in that gets past the HBF /end vent
  15. NEVER ACCEPT MEDIOCRITY.
  16. Whats done is done. The main problem I see from watching Carlton and brissy (with brown out) kick the ball to fev 9/10 times because like it or not the bastard is quick and presents as a target everytime when the midfield looks up. Lucas cook won't get a look in.
  17. the 16 other midfielders we have in the team should be able to sort out the goal assists
  18. comparing him to miller is a stretch, The bloke is a premiership player. You can't take that from him. He is a nice kick of the footy and can take a mark on the lead. I wouldn't be disappointed if we did pick him up for a touch of experience. Year by year contract for sweet f-all. I played a year above him as a junior. He never showed much until under 18's
  19. was in a corporate box and had the fox sports commentary on.. can't remember who said it (could have even been healy?) but they hinted at bate being shopped around. if you can't get in the side by round 18 and you're brought back in for round 22, it's because the club is hoping he'll show something.. for trade
  20. this irritates me. There is no A, B or C. It's a roving offence that continues constantly. We used to call it "motion" in basketball and we would run it constantly. There is just the motion and running through it. Everyone knows if they're in a certain area they have to move to the next. You learn it enough in training and just find yourself doing it.. When you see where the ball is, you automatically move to the right area (1, 2, or 3 possessions ahead) Playing on all the time just like geelong. the handball or kick more would be a directive from the coach, but wouldn't change the motion. If at any stage you call it a 'plan b' it's when a team holds it up. And that is ONLY because the opposition has a defensive flood on the midfield. The only reason we do it is to balance our offence and get everyone in position to start the motion again. We never hold it up for more than a couple of possessions before the switch comes and then it's into the motion again.
  21. Believe everything the club tells you. Like Jones being dropped on Thursday. Teams drop players to get over any injuries that are stopping them performing at 100%. It didn't matter that it was Geelong that round. Look at our form going into that game. We had 3 losses in a row then went to darwin in 4000% humidity in a 37deg night game where players were drinking their body weight in water to get through. Hawthorn aren't any rougher than any other team. I reckon they're softer. Apart from that spell of wins, they aren't much chop. Best chance we have to beat them is this week. They looked slow and poor against sydney! If we run and spread and play great footy like we did in the last quarter today, we'll SMASH them
  22. lol @ big bad hawthorn harden up will ya, it's football.
  23. jones ability not to take the first easy option but to kick it long to advantage is his one of my favourite things about him.
  24. video ref would only work for the blatent misses it wont work for 90% of other cases. you will never tell if it's been touched, or come from the boot (unless some hot spot technology has come out that we haven't yet seen) it's still all guess work. the goal that goes flying over the posts, from 5 angles you could get 5 different responses. The goal posts should have a sensor in them that lights up when it's hit by something hard?
  25. jones will be back. hard at it nude nut. Love his work. someone has to get the footy, we can't all be classy receivers.
