the amount of permitted advertising space on jumpers and shorts is regulated by AFL - it is limited - the best opportunity would be to try and get other promotional exposure eg. signage on our new home base etc.

It's not that easy to get/accept a sponsor - we have to have available what the particular prospective sponsor may want - eg. jumper space , shorts sponsorship etc. I imagine all these premium spots are already committed / contracted by us for 2008 ( and possibly beyond). but, hey - the idea is right to go for it if we can.

Bev is 'Peter Costello" - she will proceed when Paul calls it quits - I respect EACH of them ( Paul and Bev, that is ) - our club is in good hands.

I reckon we have enough rough heads in our team already! ( uuuummm - Carroll ? but I like tha guy. ) I would love to see Alwyn with Aaron - but can't really see it happening at the moment.

if Robbo had gone, I feel we would have lost a lot of club culture - heis a mainstay at MFC - his 10 year membership and speech last year was inspirational, as was Ooze a couple of years before that. I reckon it was more important to keep Robbo than get Judd - Judd would have cost heaps, and a few players might have been put out -. Let's hope the rot ends soon about trading Frawley or Petterd - we need them too.

My comments are made from experience and comparison relating to a number of forums of which I am a member, over topics as diverse as music, motoring and wine. It seems that you are attempting to draw this into a debate between Demonolgy and Demonland - that would seem to me to be an effort on your part to be divisive and confrontationist - that is not in the interests of either site, or the MFC and I don't understand your intentions , motivation or what such comparison would achieve.

I agree - we can't really afford to give up too much , because what we might win with a player of Judd's ability, we may be robbing Peter to pay Paul - too many eggs in one basket and all the other similar cliches . And there is that history of injury that may shorten his time also.

Picket Fence - welcome - I think over time you will value 'land - I think over time you will gravitate to 'land quite a bit - it seems to me to be an excellent site for a number of reasons - reliability ( I don't think I have ever seen it unobtainable ) , very easy to negotiate the various forums which are presented in an extremely logical and practical manner , very well moderated ( without any apparent power trips or air of superiority) and a very knowledgeable and informative range of posts and members who contribute in a supportive and co-operative and respectful manner without sniping or anyone wanting to gain one-upmanship.

let's hope that's it Nash - he has worked so hard on it, particularly in stat's work - sometimes it must just seem so much simpler to use 'off the shelf' software tho. 'land seems to have everything necessary for a furum site - has any part of 'land been written specially?

mate- unfortunately the post is 100 % accurate - I 'm not being a stirrer - it hurt me big time to see Matty like that - hope it was just a routine end-of-season op, but my real problem with that is that you would think an end-of-season op would have happened for him ages ago due to his ankle injury ending 2007 so early.

Spoke to him briefly this afternoon at a Fitzroy st St Kilda cafe - poor bugga had his right arm in a sling (not in plaster ) - I didnt ask what the injury was becos I didnt want to intrude too much - I just said " will you be right for round 1? - he said 'hope so'.= he looked pretty down - dunno what this new-current injury is, but not good, when 2007 was lost becos of an ankle - now the arm ! We need you Matty for 2008- good luck. ps anyone know anything about his arm ?

a survey was done of MFC supporters before the recent Carlton game at the MCG - a mate I was with was interviewed by a volunteer. The questions were something like - name 3 words that you think of about MFC - if MFC was a car, what would it be?- what's the biggest ( I forget exactly) challenge or problem or significant issue for the club in the next few years. If I was surveyed i think I would have said - heritage, proud, leaders car would be Volvo - slow but safe ( bit like some of our older supporters) overcome financial problems, which then would give us the funds to build a team and infrastructure.

Is anyone else having problems getting on to 'ology ? Long live 'Land !!!
