Last year we had 29619 members, so we really need 32000 this year to say things are on the up.

At an MFC function launching the President's Club tonight Jimmy Stynes said he wants to make 4 announcements before the start of the season:

(i) the deal with Casey Council;

(ii) an agreement with the Melbourne Cricket Club re the future;

(iii) the club's major sponsor (up to the last week there were about 3 options including dual sponsors, now a couple more have emerged); and

(iv) the #1 ticket holder.

Should be an interesting 2 to 3 weeks ahead.

1 2 and 3 would all be fantastic - 4 - we need one , but I.m not too fussed who it is - just hope we can understand him !

I've downloaded heaps of different ringtones and no charge. You don't have to register any details such as your phone number, so they couldn't possibly charge you. It's like when you download a free app. and you don't get charged.

All it does is download the 20/30/40 second bit of the song into itunes in the form of a ringtone. You then have to make sure you sync it with your iphone, go to setting and choose your ringtone.

I have downloaded it to my notebook, then try to copy to iphone AS A RINGTONE - error message comes up - won't let me ,and says I can only copy song as a ringtone if I have purchased from ITUNes .

That site is actually pretty awesome and you can find just about any song and download it as a ringtone for free, or make your own.

Having been present at both Melbourne vs Hawthorn, and Cousins vs Collingwood, I believe that the question that needs to be asked is; Are we actually in a better position (football wise) than Richmond. Comparing our youth that is coming through in Blease, Bartram, Buckley, Martin, Bate, Jones, Wonna, Maric, and Watts; together with players such as PJ, Moloney, Sylvia (?), Chook, Miller, Bell (?), Garland, Warnock; and then the oldies and seasoned players such as Junior, Green, Bruce and Robbo, to that of Richmondfc is our flock actually in a better position for a tilt at the flag in the near future?

Though both sides have only played one match each, this could be hard to tell and the topic is sure to draw a lot of criticism from many people on here, however I firmly believe that the intensity, fortitude and skill level displayed was substantially higher than what Richmond demonstrated during their match last night. The Tigers lacked intensity and made terrible skill errors. Though it's easily arguable that by losing when being up by 33 points, we too showed exactly the same attributes as the tigers, I really believe we showed a lot more than what Richmond did last night.

Personally while our club may have off field issues that really do need resolving, our Football department is certainly not in the worst position of all AFL clubs. Throw in players such as Valenti and Spencer, and I think that our side really is starting to take the shape of a side that could become something special, and something that other clubs will fear in the (hopefully) near future.

Neitzstar has already been given a serve a week or so back by another Demonology poster in response to his claim that (and this is not exact btw) "the pimply teenagers over at Demonland will have us finishing in the top 8 if not the top 4". The poster gave Whispering Jack a mention as one of the serious and thoughtful posters on this site as an example of how wrong he was. Can't remember the thread but I'm sure you could find it.

I wouldn't think he's highly regarded on that site.

That sort of thing doesn't really faze us Demonlanders because:

(i) it's a typical sign of inadequacy from an individual who has an undersized appendage, and

(ii) neitzstar is a couple of sandwiches short of a barbecue.

Demonhead = I can understand your sentiments and frustration , but try hard not to lower yourself to a similar level.

I know it can be easier said than done though, HOWEVER I THINK THAT THOSE EXPRESSIONS SHOULD NOT FEATURE ON EITHER SITE.

I withdraw my criticism of MFC above re the phone problems.

My brother has rung the club and the receptionist doesn't know if you can sign up for tonight to attend the AGM.

She put him through to membership, but the service was unavailable. Another attempt got the same result.

Yet another attempt had him put through to the Manager of memberships and got a voice mail.

How hard is it to give them your money ?

Does anyone know if you can sign up tonight, rather than spend all day hitting brick walls ?

IMO either he writes his blog on Land, or he doesn't try and start a competitive site using Land to advertise it - what he is trying to do is take contributors away from Land , so Land eventually suffers , and the hard work done by Nash and others gets wasted.

Hi, just wanted to let all Demonland members know that I have started a Melbourne blog called Melbfc Blog. Every day (just about) there will be a post all about the current issues at the club. I am doing it mainly because I think it is something that Melbourne supporters want and I would love it if you could bookmark it and read once a day. I am open to suggestions as well.

Do the hard yards like Nash and guys have done here- USE YOUR OWN RESOURCES INSTEAD OF SOMEONE ELSES.

MFC are possibly waiting for answers as to how much MCC and AFL are assisting us, to know what our short-term available funding is, and then decide what they can contribute to Casey in dollar terms.
