  1. We will have an experienced side to take on the Hawks. Our forward line looks strong, hard and capable, our onball section is tough and dedicated and our backline is rock solid. Our rookies will play off the bench, this will bring some raw excitement to the game. We are tough, we are fit, we are strong and we are ready to start winning. No more ballshit talk of potential. Lets hit the Hawks hard. CARN THE DEMONS!!!!!!!!!!!!

    games played (**)

    ff- Bate(68) Jamar (73) Petterd (29)

    hf- Green(239) Miller(127) Jones (70)

    hb- J.Macdonald(80) Frawley(40) Bruce (203)

    fol-Martin(27) Grimes (16) McDonald(235)

    int-Trengove(0) Scully(0) Bartram(59) Strauss(0)

  2. With the absence of Roughhead and Franklin, we should leave Warnock out, so we can have more run.

Mitchell should be tagged by McDonald & Bartram.

Jamar and Martin swapping Ruck and Full Forward.

Hard running midfielders regularily changing off the bench.

    ff- Petterd Jamar Jetta(if fit)/maric

    chf- Bate Miller Davey

    c- Green Grimes Bennell

    HBF- Bruce Rivers Strauss

    bb- Cheney Frawley J McDonald

    fol- Martin Moloney Capt.Mcdonald

    bench, Jones Scully Trengove Bartram

Garland may need a full game at Casey

  3. Most exciting prospect is definitely overstating it. More exciting than Scully, Trengove(, Morton, Watts)? You've got to be kidding. He's not even a certainty to make it at the top level at all yet, let alone reaching the Andrew McLeod level.

What he does have is the tools to become a very good player. I'd see par for Bennell as becoming a good 'B' grader to sit in the 15-22 position on the list of a premiership side, but he's got a lot of work to do to get to that level.

His career is off to a promising start, but I wouldn't get too ahead of myself just yet.

    B-grader? I feel for you.

  4. Bennell was electric on Saturday. He is good in the air and even better on the ground. He breaks lines and backs himself in. Most importantly, he knows when to GO! Bailey has earmarked Bennell as our go to man when kicking out from defense. It was interesting to see on Sat that Strauss (arguably our best defensive kicker) took the kick-outs and nearly always kicked to Bennell, then, using handball, broke the lines and ran it out of defense. On one occasion, we ran the ball, using quick hands and short kicks, all the way to the forward line. A sign of things to come maybe?

However, due to a surplus of backmen, I believe that Bennell should play on the wing floating back, opposite Davey (wing) floating forward. Prendergast suprisingly overlooked Sydney's Jetta for Gysberts (I hope he is right), but Bennell might be just as good on the wing, if not better. He reminds me of the Adelaide champion McLeod.

Our aboriginal brigade is exceptional. I even love the hardness and intensity of Jetta.

  5. FF - Petterd Sylvia Wonamirri

    HFF- Green Miller Bate

    C- Trengove Grimes Davey

    HBF- Bruce Frawley Mcdonald

    FB- Cheney Warnock Rivers

    FOL- Jamar Jones Moloney

    INT- Scully Martin JnrMcDonald Bennell

    emg- Maric, Bartram, Spenser

Hard nosed footy should get us a win.

This is a good footy side.

  6. I realise that. But if he were available.....

Cheney...part of premiership defence..interesting. Would have thought there were others well ahead and with better skills than Cheney. IMO Cheney will have to develop some pretty strong strings to his bow to make it. At present he does not have them.

Grimes will come off the HBL for Rd 1

I believe Grimes will be our No.1 midfielder this year, joining Jones, Moloney, Jnr McDonald, Trengove and Scully in the centre. Green and Sylvia, Jetta and Maric will play forward pushing into the guts, helping our midfielders. Bruce, Macdonald, Garland, Strauss, Cheney and Morton(maybe CHF) will be given a chance of securing a position on the HBF. Bennell will play as our rabbit out of defense. Davey and Petterd should be our wingmen.
