  1. I was about to write a similar post but this sums it up for me also I have been arguing with my dad (a passionet dees man) who has been calling jack a dud for years and can't see anything special. Simply put he hasn't been developed properly and quite simply not many have in recent times not sure if it's coaching or support networks or simply leadership. In a side like Geelong, collingwood, Sydney, westcoast, hawthorn he would be a genuine star. Trade him sure but is that going to solve the problems of how we ever developed potential junior stars? I would say not. Why do you think Neeld and co selected Grimmes and Trengove as leaders, because they are the best we have. I feel the club is on the right track we just need more Jonesy's, Grimmes, trengoves and Clarkes Who from all reports work there asses off. Neeld, Craig, Rawlings and brown are all quality individuals that need to galvanize this club of individuals into a team and get the best out of them. Just remember this is there first year together at Melbourne and as expected there will be some big changes at the end of this season starting now lets judge this club again in 12 months and see if there is any improvement from this disastress 2012. Back I topic this includes Watts as he is a massive part of this club. And I can only hope they get the best out of him because his best will be as good as any in the game including NicNat.
  2. As much as I despise Scully, I'd say his support network (mainly his father) was as much if not more to blame. I was slightly interested in seeing Scully fail this year but as the season went on I lost interest in him. Bring on 2013 - the best would result would be picking two guns with the compo picks, I'm sure Jim will be overseeing this some how, RIP.
  3. Sorry maybe it's just me but I do not rate Pearce at all and hope we don't even consider him cant even give you a good reason why just looks like a player that sits back and waits for the hard work to be done!
  4. So you think he is a potential "superstar" but not worthy of pick 3 or 4?? I'm happy with a potential superstar on our list it's been few and far between! I'd also like to add when he was being heavily pursued by AFC he chose the MFC in a show of faith I'd like to see that full filled as he appears to have done everything asked of him and no major injuries to change their mind.
  5. I'm staggered that people think gws won't bid on viney we commited to this kid 2 years ago it's a done deal and will take him with whatever draft pick we are forced to use (which appears to be pick 3) of course it would great for the MFC if we didn't have to select him until the second round but come on do you really believe that GWS would be taking a massive risk in bidding on a player they know and we all know will be wearing red and blue next year really??
  6. Can anyone please post a link of footage for both Hogan and Martin ?
  7. It ain't pretty first qrt and a half were ok hitting more targets then normal with some decent spread. That 3rd qrt was back to the same old same old going backwards getting caught and not hitting targets. Lucky gold coast are not rewarded for effort and have injured players other wise they'd be right in it!
  8. What was the list he came up with our of curiosity?
  9. Ok sorry just read Tuesday 6 - 8 at the club? I'm coming from traralgon happy to help if you need a hand my email is [email protected]
  10. I might be interested where and what time ?
  11. As far as I understand it we can't use ( or be forced to use ) a compensation pick on jack? I could be wrong ?
  12. Disagree Sylvia and a first round is overs IMO if we offered that to port they should sign before we change our mind! The other issue is getting boak keen to become a dee other clubs are very interested
  13. If boak wants out port would jump all over that deal what a win for port!
  14. Don't think there would be any problems our end in satisfying port with a suitable deal nor satisfying Travis with a very attractive contract. Our major hurdle would be convincing him to play for the Melbourne football club, yes I know we attracted Mitch Clarke last (much to my suprise) but at the end of last year most experts saw us with a great list and bucketloads of potential we are now 0 - 9 and the laughing stock of the afl! Unless we start seeing some wins and a change in perception of the footy club from the experts and general football public it will be a very hard sell. Having said all that I was pleasantly suprised with the signing of Clarke!! Happy for the club to have a red hot crack looks like a good player with a good upside!
  15. Moloney free agent so very little trade value Dunn is not an afl standard player in any team he should be delisted can't see anyone interested. Davey keep on list IMO he's badly down on form but still has some footy left in him IMO Watts is worth more to us then anyone else we have plenty of draft picks this year so it's pointless getting a draft pick. However for the sake of jack watts and the club if a potential trade that could be a win / win came up you would look at it have to be special though! Sylvia is the great unknown you can bet your house that sydney would be seriously looking at him and could turn him into a star. Jurrah all depends on court but he is a keeper! And Bennel I would trade in a heart beat. Surely bate will be on the table also not getting a fare go at dees IMO Petterd and bail may have some currency also
  16. I read demonland day in day out very really post, I agree with you too jaded it's hard and mentally draining trying to take positives away from each game. We played good for 1 and half qrts, ok for another qrt and half and IMO pathetic in the last from we were one again blown away in every aspect of the game and takes away the positive efforts from early in the game. I'm a pretty positive person and get pretty tired of defending my team and the players constantly quite frankly there's not a great deal to defend today they dropped there heads stopped working and running. How did Carlton suddenly find extra fitness? Oh well another week being a dees supporter thank god I also follow the storm passionately!
  17. 100% agree. Why does he crash packs grab the ball and either stop and wait for a ball up or do a stupid 360 and turn back into the pack. He is not a bad footballer normally but far from a top player should have been dropped last week and should again this week
  18. IMO the 3 quarters count for very little when you drop away so badly in the last, ran out of legs in the last why? Are we not fit enough? Why? We have been training as long if not longer then other teams. Ok for 3 quarters and pathetic in the end that's my opinion cheers
  19. Pretty average suggestion! Having said that I'm not taking time off work and travelling 2 hours each way to watch what they dish up! I have been going to the footy as an 8 year old since 1987 and I've never been more dissapointed then I am right now.
