ok, I do not even know where to begin on this topic MELBOURNE IS BUILDING, the coaches are learning, and so are the players. Martin is a new footy player, who has no idea what suits him best, and i dont think the coaches have worked that out yet thats why they are letting him try out numerous positions. MARTIN:was doing well in the backline as you say = HOWEVER.... he has the ability to be a key tall forward something MELBOURNE DO NOT HAVE that is potentially why he has been moved: he has also been rucking: because incase u havent realised, we are down a ruckman: jamars been injured and if he wasnt = i doubt he would play there i dont think the coaches are trying to sacrifice him- in playing him in different places YOU SAY MARTIN WAS A DISASTER IN THE FORWARD LINE that is completely UNTRUE i can think of so many examples where he has shown so much he has shown some SERIOUS POTENTIAL TO BE A FORWARD - something which melbourne is severely lacking. if you had any idea where melbournes future was, you would be looking forward and realise MARTIN has shown enormous potential to be a star YES his kicking is hideous at times Yes he sometimes has been lost YES HE HAS PLAYED FOOTY FOR 3 YEARS and ................. LOOK at how far he has come THE major point you have missed here is that he is a DEVELOPING athlete: who with the right training and nurture will develop into something far greater than what this club has seen : WHAt IS THE POINT IN PLAYING PLAYERS like robertson in the forward who have passed their use by date over guys like stef who are still developing, learning and improving YOU should stop being so critical of him in the forward when he has been given very few games actually in there, and in those games he has done things which HIGHLIGHT his progress and POTENTIAL

we got the dud draft pick..... so far.
-
THATS the thing hes been given ample opportunity to PROVE US wrong it is not a vendetta = its COLD HARD REALITY that the juice lovers out there should accept hes not fit for AFL
-
NEWTON IS GONE he has been in the system for 4 years andwhat has he shown HOW MANY MORE CHANCES DO WE GIVE HIM IV SED IT ONCE ILL SAY IT AGAIN HE IS NOT AT AFL LEVEL HE is amerely a good vfl player OUT with the old in with the new HE was given the chance to proove himself numerous times - HE DIDNT

I LOVE how everyone pins blame on how poor our forwards are doing IT ALL STEMS FROM THE MIDFIELD everyweek we get hardly any iside 50s it is RARE TO SEE ANY KICKS go into the forward cleanly and direct BECAUSE OUR UNTOUCHABLE MIDFIELD is no good HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO KICK GOALS! WE NEED NEW MIDFIELDERS quick and skilled. we have an excellent backline - we have some forwards developing but our midfield need to learn to deliver passes into the forward before MELBOURNE CAN MOVE FORWARD CHANGES NEED TO BE MADE
-
MARTIN HAS BEEN GIVEN 1 PROPER game IN the forward AGAINST ST KILDA = it went inside 50 - 30 times the whole game - he was not properly kicked to once for him to even mark it let alone kick goals the other 2 games - his first he gave off two fantastic unselfish assists to brad miller who kicked goals, and the other game he scored two goals when our MIDFIELD DECIDED TO DELIVER IT TO HIM Bailey has barely given him a go MELBOURNE has no tall FORWARD TARGET GARLAND = skinny and by no means has a strong physique to be a tall target forward - we need to be looking for the next Buddy, Roughhead, BROWN, LLOYD. Garland is not going to be that player he should remain in the backline we have already got 10 small forwards melbourne NEEDS A TARGET and it should be MARTIN why he was even dropped for watts last week is beyond me.

BROCKSTAR5 I could not agree more about rivers. Martin has been so reliable, he has now been given 2 chances in the forward the first one he kicked 2 goals, but they kept moving him. I COULDNT UNDERSTAND IT, he was beginning to show signs and it was his first game there the next week against st kilda - in a longer than usual ground, tough opposition and 30 kicks inside 50 for the game. how was he supposed to do well with a midfield who cant deliver reliably.. he was basically given one shot and then dropped for watts in the forward who as iv said was merely chosen as a publicity stunt on QB - a draw card so melbourne could make some money - he was not up to it and needs more time to develop at casey at the very least he should have just been kept in the back line against coll- who got absolutely killed in the first quarter (lack of intensity etc) rivers form has not been good. Mind you, he has alot of friends. lets hope they make the right decision and bring him back against essendon

AGREE with PJ out are you sayign JaMAR will be the only Ruck? POSSIBLY OUT robertson... Newton is long gone, as the commentators said after his last AFL game - he is merely a good vfl player nothing more
-
YOUR CHOICES are SPOT ON i agree completely our midfield has been what is killing us every single week yet they NEVER CHANGE IT they blame the forwards for not getting goals, but do we have any reliable midfields aside from Davey who can deliver good passes? NO
-
Totally agree Jaded your ideas sound good-

JADED, you are acting like the rest of the demon dreamers out there who believe jack is GOD to MElbourne. LETs get one thing said and put out there He was put in today merely as a marketing ploy for the demons to get their fans out to support them and thus make some money on QB. WELL thats how I have interpreted it, because I believe he was no where near ready today to play and his performance proved that. YOU contradict yourself. You say "There was nothing embarrassing about Watts or his debut." and yet you go on to say "The only embarrassing thing about this week was the display we put on today." Does he get singled out in your opinion for being the only person out of 22 guys on the ground who did not embarass themselves? In saying what you just did you have excluded him from the fact that he is PART OF THE TEAM because today there is no denying the fact that MELBOURNE WERE AN EMBARASSMENT and jack as PART OF THE TEAM is included in that to.

votes= no point giving out 6 we didnt have more than 2 players so lets go with the 3 vote system 3 votes: jones 2 votes: sylvia 1 vote: there were no other players today who came to play
-
PLEASE TELL ME your 3 votes to frawley are a JOKE his performance along with the rest of the back line today was the most embarassing display all year Watts was not even present i saw his face once the whole game. he is no where near ready to play AFL and needs more time in the 2's JONES was someone you have not acknowledged as contributing well
-
COULDNT agree more AFTER watching the game today our backline was a JOKE. an embarassment STEFAN MARTIN should never have been dropped
