Then again we could always try and get Snickers on board.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZihZH6x8fqU&feature=related Watching this back again i'm staggered that we actually put up with this kind of (for lack of a better word) pity...

Such a brilliant day! Enjoy it all or if you are pressed for time, fast forward to 4 mins 40 secs.

China Southern?...what makes you curious about them?

I won’t go into specifics but just some thoughts I had during and after the event. I was there tonight and agree that it was the flattest AGM that we had in a while. To me it was really a non-event. Not that you expect AGM’s to be a spectacular show but if the club constitutionally didn't have to have a meeting I’m sure they would have just let it slide. The events in regards to Jim earlier in the day may have had a dampener on proceedings yet I can honestly say that had a small impact on tonight. The club to me now is projecting an image not of transparency but one of steely resolve. Tonight to me was the night that we actually saw the club grow up and get their act together. It would be safe to say that everyone that turned up knew what they were going to hear with the exception of the time given to the Bentleigh Club. Forget Mitch Clark, our biggest coup for 2011 was this transaction and up until tonight I didn’t really understand the relevance of this venue to the club. I’ve never been there (I live past Melbourne Airport) and have never accepted it as the clubs “social venue.” The average Melbourne supporter should see the Bentleigh Club as an asset that has huge potential for increased revenue (via a gaming license) and quite possibly later on a huge financial windfall if the land is developed. It may have taken 12 years but I think the club has got it right on this one. As for the health of the club, all I got out of it as that we are back to square one and we’ve spent so much time on fixing the mistakes of the past that we can finally start to think about the future. That’s something that the club hasn’t done in a very long time. I’d go so far as to say the last time the club had a serious think about its future direction was during 1996. Next I’d like to talk about Cameron Schwab. I just don’t know you anymore. Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed Whiteboard Wednesdays and the tweets but they just shut up shop. To me it seems that he was told to rein them in and concentrate more on strategic matters (to which we were told is one of the finest strategic blueprints in the AFL) and tonight I just wasn’t sold on his message. More on that tomorrow night.

Just saw this little tidbit on the club website under the title of pre-ordering 2012 guernseys.(https://shopdesq.img...3764&OrgID=1749) We are still finalising a deal for a second major sponsor therefore the time of delivery is still unknown but we are expecting late February. With that in mind it surely must mean there will be a sponsor announcement prior to NAB Cup. Further to that there could be an announcement of a new sponsor as well as the captain at the same time to maximise exposure I must say i would have loved if the EnergyWatch logo had been blended in the jumper (like this years Kaspersky logo) rather than the light blue on dark blue look. Then again when you are paying $6 million over 3 years you can afford to have a say in things.

Theories and Questions popped into my head when i heard about Kia . Theory - Never really stood a chance with Kia i feel once we explained how we are trying to engage the Chinese market. South Korea and China historically aren't the best of friends. Shame because a 5 year deal would have been brilliant. Questions - Could the faint dream of exposing the club to say 100 million Chinese come at the cost of a 5 year deal that i'd be guessing worth about $1.5 million a year? Does the club have a secondary option? Bank of Melbourne seems to keep popping up. Have we signed a sponsor worth more than the deal Kia offered? Are they from China? If the answer to no to all of the above..Does that mean EnergyWatch paid above the market rate? Either we have landed a massive fish or Energy Watch gets bumped up to front of jumper and a new company comes on board for slightly less. Lastly, when are we going to announce it? PS - I hate Essendon......
-
With Energy Watch on board for 3 years at a value of 6 million has there been any news on the new front of jumper sponsor? -Is Kaspersky re-signing? -Any truth to the rumour that a Korean company is coming on board? (I read somewhere online that Kia is being courted by Essendon) - Have you heard of any whispers?

That's a huge call.. as good as it sounds for us i think everyone involved with this will wait for an official statement either by the Dees or GWS before putting to bed the most exhausting episode in the clubs history since 1996.

I love this line from Caroline Wilson today... Scully reportedly learned about a month ago of an official offer from the AFL's 18th club and while Melbourne has counter punched since then, the Demons 2009 priority pick has all but decided to move to Sydney. So the article is about Scully pretty much 98% sure as far as i know but i can't be certain but i've got a couple of good sources but they can't be named but they are pretty confident that he's gone but there's a slight chance he might stay but actually i have no idea. Can i have her job and get paid as much as she does? Pathetic...

ROSS Lyon has been spectacularly backed this morning to coach Melbourne next season. Lyon’s price was slashed from $9 into just $2 before the market was suspended with online bookmaker Sportsbet.com.au. “We’ve suspended the market for the time being based on irregular betting activity over the past 24 hours,” Sportsbet.com.au’s Haydn Lane said. The move comes as Lyon prepares the Saints to take on Sydney in the second elimination final on Saturday night Lyon was at $17 to coach Melbourne when markets were released following the sacking on Dean Bailey and gradually firmed to $9 before today’s plunge. Yesterday, Saints defender Jason Blake said Lyon had fronted the players when rumours of a Melbourne poaching move first aired. "He addressed it straight up and said it wasn't true," Blake said.

First visited the Adelaide Oval this year to watch Melb Victory v Inbred United. Fantastic Ground would love to go back and watch some cricket there and as it is so close to the city a short walk to the ground just over the "river"

Attention - Melbourne Fans!! There are some of us that live in the North, North West and West of Melbourne. Etihad is a great place to watch footy - just because we don't play there often enough we don't get a feeling like it's our home ground there's no excuse from anyone who supports us NOT to come. Southern Cross is 100 meters away, the views are great, it's easier to get to than the G and if we win plenty of bars to celebrate around the ground. If there are less than 33,000 to this game i am calling the Melbourne supporters who don't turn up to Etihad games soft! Get you A*se to Etihad!!!!
