I'm not sure anyone has said that Scully is our only hope. Scully is being compared to Chris Judd, FFS people he would become an asset to this club if we picked him up more then a couple of wins against sides that are tanking or a just pretenders. Then we have the other pick. Have we not learned one thing from season 2007.

it's not just about Scully, we are compromising pick 2 or 3 aswell.

Its not just pick 1, it is pick 2 or 3 aswell, which could help a hell of alot in our side. I hope you are right too, i just feel we would be better off to get 2 top 3 picks instead of one top 5 pick

We should re visit this thread in two years time and see if one stupid win over power compares to the picks we are going to lose. We are the dumbest football club going around at the moment. Why could we not show this spirit at the start of the season? The way the draft works, we have it in our best interest to lose. Hate it or love it, thats the way it is. Look at North, they continually finish 11th to top 8 but never really challenge, is that what we want? or do we want some short term pain for the chance to have a real go at the flag with what should be the best talent in the land in this years draft?

Agreed... You should always get on board, you can show the club you are not happy as well as also keeping the club alive by buying a membership...

If free agency was around then yes, as you could build a team of aging stars to sneak a flag ( boston celtics ) But as it stands we would have to either offload a pick or get him in the PSD, which may be to expensive.

It will be interesting to see the result of this match. If we win, the Coasters will say that they did it for the pick and we are not the better team. If we lose then we will all feel pretty avg, but at least we will get picks 1 and 2. I really want to win this match. I want Morton to smash Masten in possies and Watts to get a game against an avg mob so he can show us his worth

We smashed it, I still know a couple of supporters that will jump on when we start winning (It's not right, but the more the merrier)

He always seemed to beat his opponent (or opponents) without looking flash, still no thx on any coaching roll at melbourne.

Someone needs to tell Cale that putting his body on the line may hurt for a minute or two, but pulling out of a contest will hurt for a lifetime. It will be hard to get any real confidence in his game if he does those sort of acts. Once he backs into a pack and takes one for the team every player needs to go give him a pat on the back (in fact every player should get this sort of treatment) He will learn.

Yeah thats spot on. I would hope they would not extend his contract this year (maybe not at all) Also it may be to early to judge DB, but i am willing to wear egg on my face if i am wrong. Some people sit on the fence for to long. Criticism is not going to hurt DB one bit, we as supporters need to keep the pressure on everyone at the club just as they do to us when we are late to renew our memberships.

Is it still to early to say we made the wrong choice of coach? Game plan does not seem to be working (If there is one) Is he the master of development coaching that some think he is? To me he seems to be getting as much as any other Joe blow would be getting out of the players. Is he taking us in the right direction Dean still does not seem like the right choice. We had this thread at the start of the year, i bet you we will have this thread at the end too. Ultimately the coach will be blamed for all things that go wrong. If dean bailey was sacked at the end of the year or mid next season the coach taking over would have a much easier job then dean does now. So ask yourself, would any other coach be doing better then we are now? All i ask of Dean is that we see improvement in the youngsters and more game time too. Bring back the thread with the dean bailey pole lol
