Today’s game is being televised on 7 so I’m going to have an easy day and mostly leave it to the Demonlanders who follow the VFL to provide most of the comment. Like many of you, I will be watching on the screen and not at the ground. ?

There have definitely been some subtle changes in Sam’s role. He’s stronger, is doing more ruck work around the ground and is becoming a well rounded player, rather than type cast as a KPF. He needs a breakout game at AFL level and if that happens, we won’t see much more of him at Casey.

The Casey Demons’ task of extending their winning run of 12 has been made difficult due to injuries and Box Hill always presents a difficult challenge. Lockhart missed an opportunity and it’s now 8 points the difference. No rain yet but it’s threatening.

It’s a dour struggle with not much scoring this quarter. Lachie Filipovic has been off for a while with what I’m told appears to be a hammy.

After 10 minutes of scrappy footy, only a single point was scored until Sam Weideman bagged his second to put Casey 7 points up.
