  1. 'No one plays finals in rd 5
  2. I agree, Rather then the boring post game analysis I want this.... Love pop.... Goody make it happen. Also pop sums up our day pretty accurately
  3. Simon doesn't care what you think @picket fence
  4. Robbo on AFL 360 thinks we're [censored].... phew I'm not so worried anymore. But on a serious note, I am not going to Panic until Round 10. We should be 6 - 4, maybe 5 & 5 or it could be worse and season over..... But if we manage to be 6 and 4, get Viney and T Mac back I won't be too upset Truth sadly is we struggle without No.7. Our kids haven't stepped up just yet.
  5. It's embarrassing to be a MFC supporter. If it's not the club and embarrassing performances then it's the supporters who are embarrassing. Nothing wrong being upset but wowee Too many nuff nuffs with opinion these days. .. yay for social media
  6. Very optimistic from @WERRIDEE. This place is hard enough to read after a win. We need Viney and T Mac back asap
  7. Coaches f'd up yesterday theres no doubt about that.
  8. Terrible Beaten in every aspect of the game today. Sad after a promising start. Our biggest issue is we lack outside class, none of players seem to have composure, and it's been a problem for a long time. Long way to go.... I don't think we are final contendars but before everyone goes batshite cray... Tiges did lose to the Crows by 100 last year as well.
  9. I'll be severely hungover from sat night and wont likely make it to the ground. Will watch on tv
  10. Surprising, always heard he prepares quite well. Any particular reason for the drop off?

Its interesting you say that saty. Because i noticed in the 3rd and 4th that we tended to rush and bomb the ball rathe then trying to keep possession. I assume it was because the boys were tired and the ball like a cake of soap? But it seemed opposite of slowing the game down? Was it poor execution or just not following instructions?

See above re discussion and unwarranted criticism And yes most voters are idiots. Why do u think the media.is dumbed down
  13. Cheap Seats replied to Big Carl's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes but the specific comments on coaching ability are unwarranted. Understand the difference between discussion and ridiculous criticism

Satys first line is a fair point though. How can you analyise the coaches box without having specific knowledge? Im.not against the discussion but there are a lot of dumb unrealistic opinions on here. Not you personally @Ethan. But one.day we have a no plan b. The next week it's criticism that we dont stixk.to.a game plan. Just stupid really
  15. Lewis second half was very good last week. Wont argue he didn't have a great game tonight. Agree someone like frost needs to come.in to free up Lever
  16. based on what? Gut feel? You know he wants more opportunity? Just adlibbing? While I don't disagree with the point you've made, it is a long season, there are at least 21 games left for Gus to make an impact. We all know we struggle to perform consistently over a whole season. Players not playing now isn't the end of the world, as some on here would like to make out. I want to see Gus play in the ones, but if we are winning games (I know we aren't yet...) but let's just hold the dogs off a little longer hey???
  17. Fair enough, I take you're point re NRL But both are cut throat industries
  18. So is AFL Don't know much about you Saty and not having a go... But AFL isn't healthy in Regional Vic - lots of smaller clubs being wound up and amalgamated
  19. Yep spot on mate. Time for that to change
  20. Not in the article but it's because all storm players have done it multiple times - was on the radio Like it or not - the MFC has a soft tag and has had it a long long time - supporters and team. The only way to fix it is win. Now this is off topic and has nothing to do with the camp - the issue isn't the camp itslef it's the way it all happened
  21. In the article Bellamy actually says it has little to do with physical training.... β€˜β€˜The camp helps us see how these players are going to fit into our club,’’ said Bellamy. β€˜β€˜To be quite honest, the IDQ guys are not always right but over 15 years they haven’t been wrong too often.’’ β€˜β€˜I spoke to Simon Goodwin and Brendan McCartney about it and explained the camp helps us see how guys react working under pressure and fatigue with teammates. It is a way for me to get information about my players and their strengths and weaknesses so we can help them improve. It’s more of a mentally taxing exercise than physical.’’ Like her or not Caro's article does raise some good points... maybe the spoon fed AFL media is right about the Demons being mentally soft afterall
  22. While I agree in principle with your points, if they were acted out in the reality you speak of then no players in the AFL would play games because of the risk of injury while playing games, all of the public scrutiny hurting their feelings etc. It makes no sense for AFL purposes Fact is AFL players have to accept certain realities in their AFL career, eg, higher risk of injury, shorter careers for most, high public scrutiny etc. which is all compensated with extremely high wages for their troubles. While I respect the AFLPA are representing player interests, you need to see or at least acknowledge the bigger picture as well. The AFL isn't easy, it's designed to weed out the weak. If you acknowledge what Ballamy has to say, it sounds like the camp is a training tool and not a cornerstone of preseason. Why and how is the camp seen as acceptable for an NRL club but not an AFL club? Are AFL clubs softer? Or is something else going on? Hopefully the MFC have acknowledged the room for improvement in player wellbeing and welfare but for the AFLPA to step in over a 2 day camp is pretty laughable, and while not being sensitive the scrutiny on the club and players is worthy. In saying all that, the saga it is an interesting debate and interesting look at the dynamic of club and players. And relationships in the club we don't normally see. I personally don't believe it will have a massive affect on the season, and I think the soft tag will motivate some players more and with the added desire to perform hopefully that bodes well for the season ahead.
  23. I agree, i don't want to see players nominating cluba pre season personally. But the reality is the constant media speculation will grow and there is a push from some in the media 'imo to get the story first', to change this, it could happen.
  24. Hello Demonland It's been in the media recently that Rory Sloane may be on the move - Graham Cornes increasingly concerned Rory Sloane will leave Adelaide at end of 2018 With increasing talk about Free Agency every year, and the predictable constant speculation from the AFL media and Social media, I pose a couple of question to this learned group. 1. Are we a chance of bidding for and landing Rory? 2. Is the AFL community ready for an AFL player to commit to a new club before they are officially out of contract? Would be a massive step. Would anyone be upset if Rory came out and said, I will give my all to Adelaide in 2018 but I am committing to Collingwood in 2019? Rather then the now standard contract on hold? Interesting discussion I think
