'No one plays finals in rd 5
-
I agree, Rather then the boring post game analysis I want this.... Love pop.... Goody make it happen. Also pop sums up our day pretty accurately
-
Simon doesn't care what you think @picket fence
-
Robbo on AFL 360 thinks we're [censored].... phew I'm not so worried anymore. But on a serious note, I am not going to Panic until Round 10. We should be 6 - 4, maybe 5 & 5 or it could be worse and season over..... But if we manage to be 6 and 4, get Viney and T Mac back I won't be too upset Truth sadly is we struggle without No.7. Our kids haven't stepped up just yet.
-
It's embarrassing to be a MFC supporter. If it's not the club and embarrassing performances then it's the supporters who are embarrassing. Nothing wrong being upset but wowee Too many nuff nuffs with opinion these days. .. yay for social media
-
Very optimistic from @WERRIDEE. This place is hard enough to read after a win. We need Viney and T Mac back asap
-
Coaches f'd up yesterday theres no doubt about that.
-
Terrible Beaten in every aspect of the game today. Sad after a promising start. Our biggest issue is we lack outside class, none of players seem to have composure, and it's been a problem for a long time. Long way to go.... I don't think we are final contendars but before everyone goes batshite cray... Tiges did lose to the Crows by 100 last year as well.

I'll be severely hungover from sat night and wont likely make it to the ground. Will watch on tv

Coburg Lions v Casey Scorpions - VFL Round 1
Cheap Seats replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Surprising, always heard he prepares quite well. Any particular reason for the drop off? -
Momentum in footy is a massive talking point. Don't get all upset but in forming your opinion have you simply just looked at our team in making this assessment or have you looked at other teams in making the assessment as well? Take for example Sydney yesterday, they gave up 10 goals to 4 in the second half. Now I would think the Swans would be one of the most experienced teams running around in the AFL at the moment. They clearly couldn't handle the momentum change or take their opportunities. In your opinion does that classify Horse Longmire as a novice? Are McVeigh, Parker and Buddy poor leaders because they should have done more? While I don't want to knock your opinion because there is nothing wrong with it, and it's true we lack the ability to limit a momentum change. I do wonder if people just comment on feelings (especially on demonland) rather then taking a breath and looking around them? I believe the jury is still out on this season and Goodwin, but I think the issues you've raised are league wide issues and not solely a Goodwin issue or a MFC issue.
-
Agree LH But I don't know why we have to label him at all. If he's playing well and the teams winning no matter what his role is surely that's a win? I understand people need to feel better because of the price paid for him. But players impacts aren't always measured on possessions etc. We are 2 games in to the season, like you've said I think it's way too early to judge.

This summary is very good Redleg I believe you've nailed our biggest weakness, it is the spread and ball use against the better elite teams. It's coming along but we still have major issues like you've pointed out. I watched Port v Swans last night and both those teams are well in front of us in that regard. Another major issues IMO and I'm not sure how to explain it - but is it Trust in our players to help each other. What I mean is no longer have 3 players going up and none down in contests. I am not sure if it is experience or Trust, but that will help out spread as well. Anyway, I think we all know there are issues, we are not an elite team like the Hawks, Swans or Cats who have been doing it for years and bringing in new talent, but we are a much better team with issues that need to be ironed out A couple of posters have said we need to stick to a system, and I agree with that as well. The biggest problem is that the AFL industry and media are focused on the 4pts every week. Everyone loves a winner and it doesn't matter how you win. I firmly believe we can fix our issues with players playing more games together, and bringing in talent when they're ready. But at the moment getting the 4pts now matter how we get them is the priority.

Its interesting you say that saty. Because i noticed in the 3rd and 4th that we tended to rush and bomb the ball rathe then trying to keep possession. I assume it was because the boys were tired and the ball like a cake of soap? But it seemed opposite of slowing the game down? Was it poor execution or just not following instructions?
-
See above re discussion and unwarranted criticism And yes most voters are idiots. Why do u think the media.is dumbed down
-
Yes but the specific comments on coaching ability are unwarranted. Understand the difference between discussion and ridiculous criticism
-
Satys first line is a fair point though. How can you analyise the coaches box without having specific knowledge? Im.not against the discussion but there are a lot of dumb unrealistic opinions on here. Not you personally @Ethan. But one.day we have a no plan b. The next week it's criticism that we dont stixk.to.a game plan. Just stupid really
-
Are there flaws in the team? I thought we'd won the last 4 flags. Talk about stating the obvious
-
Bit early to be making any calls on the team. I dont get emotional over 1 game or qtr.
-
Results are not irrelevant, especially if u read demonland.
-
Pull yer head out of your arse mate. I guarantee you the tigers won ugly last year. Hence the statement that good teams find a way to win ugly. Im not saying we dont have issues im saying we found a way to win, scored 100 pts, kept the opposition under 80, and are still.missing 2 of our top 5. If you're going to argue come back with something better then we keep getting beaten in 1 qtt because last time i checked it was only being in front at the final siren that matters.
-
Lewis second half was very good last week. Wont argue he didn't have a great game tonight. Agree someone like frost needs to come.in to free up Lever
-
I won't join the wrist slashing brigade, good teams find a way to win terrible games. I dont think we are a great team though. Still have issues to sort out. Hopefully Hogan is ok. Was very good tonight in a game that didn't suit big men. How crazy are the results at the moment
-
If we are a serious football team this year we will win this. Otherwise we will have to reset the expectations.
-
What are we defining as the a drop? The 30 pt (5 goal to none qtr) as defined by AFL commentators or just a bad qtr where we are outscored by a goal? I'll say the 2nd again - and we should hopefully be able to over run them like the Aints did last week.
