Imagine being a KP defender lining up on McDonald. You'd hate it. If you beat him, everyone says of course you did. If he beats you, you're a chump. And you know he probably will beat you a handful of times, which is all he needs.

The last 6 weeks has essentially completely changed his career. He'll now play significant time up forward in games and do it regularly. He's gone, in a couple of months, from being a career KP defender to being a McGovern-style swing man. It's one of the biggest stories at MFC this year.

Bloody hell we have stars out... Noone thats come in has been a factor. May as well be out there with just the 12 starters. Hogan giving us nothing.

This is going to be one of those twilight zone games where we just don't know what we'll line up as. Hogan going to middle, TMac up forward, Wagner kicking goals. We'll need to set up in such a way that Blues can't take us on in a predictable way. Was always going to happen.

Jeez there's a lot of sooking on this thread. Blues are a better side than people realise. We have about 3 good footballers playing, and many coming off long layoffs. We're still better, we just have no structure. None of this should come as a shock.

Yeah this isn't good. Same old names are trying their guts out, there's just not enough of them. We don't look confident. Blues do.

K Rock and AFL nation oddly enough were the best. Disappointing with the rest... you literally couldn't screw that up. Jack provided the timing to make any commentators job easy... Man... I can't wait til post season and to start a "your top 10 favourite MFC moments of 2017." That goal will rate high with many... but TMac's will as well.

Yeah, the hysterical response was for beating the Crows who've been shown as a bit fragile, Pies who are crap, Dogs who are limping, and Eagles who aren't that much chop. Jumping off us is too... but it's just a load of media being media. They all need a feed... and noone's willing to admit there isn't enough good footy going round to keep all those ex players employed. I think the truth is somewhere in between what they're saying when positive and negative. We're making a few mistakes here and there, but we're playing with a flair and confidence we haven't in... well... ever. Certainly not since these kids have been playing football. Pay no attention. Not too many people do.

Cracking post. Point 2... I'm like you I have sympathy for him, and I think he's handled it great in terms of what he's said. I think part of the reason he came to the demons is exactly that... He doesn't have to generate the hunger... there's 20 other guys more hungry than any other club. With more reason to be hungry given what they've had to play through. I also reckon he's lost a lot of weight. As Sheahan says, players get heavy in their good years, and then to eke out a couple more, the drop weight so their joints don't suffer as much. I fear he won't go in and save the day as you say. He's a distributor now I reckon. What odds he's captain on Sunday?

I do sometimes get banned. Only for taking on trolls though, who think we have no depth. Like I've been saying since we got hot, I don't think the style we play is about balance as much as people say. We have guys who are good in and unders... and we have guys that are GREAT in and unders. Lose Jones? And miraculously Viney plays well enough for two of himself. Lose both? And we will need to replace both with like for like. Get the extractors in... Trengove is limited in roles he can play, which contributes to Goody's not wanting to select him. But as it stands now... What do we have to lose? Slot him in, give him the job on Cripps. Make him push him physically, and you'll see him win a lot of his own ball... and won't he relish every minute he gets in the red and blue. Won't leave anything in reserve. He has to be the one for me.

I like the thinking on Kent. It's right there for him, and he'll be playing for a contract. JKH is another. But I'll go with the same guy I've been saying for weeks. Super footy for what he is and what we gave up for him. JKH, you have a short memory. His first season he looked like a player, and has been injured since. 36 touches in VFL. Lazy. Ok.
