I've been a Melbourne Footy Club member since I could start paying for one myself, back in 2001. A couple of years back, I got an MCC provisional membership. It costs around $350 a year. It essentially means you get access to all matches except Finals and marquee matches. From an MFC perspective that means no Anzac Eve or Queens Birthday. I've kept my MFC membership going, but downgraded to a 3 game membership. It means I can get into Anzac Eve and Queens Birthday and get access for Weeks 1-3 of the finals. However, with the GF it means I'm Priority 3. Of course, I went into it with open eyes. From a budget perspective, I found it hard to justify paying for a full MFC membership (let alone a higher level one which guarantees a GF seat) when I already had paid a sizable amount for a MCC provisional membership. And of course, at the time of purchase, there seemed limited chance we'd get this far into September. It's a little frustrating. With the limited offering provided by provisional MCC membership (and still some years before I can get to restricted level, let alone full MCC membership), part of me thinks I should forgo it and invest in a higher level footy club membership instead.
