The game isnt until Monday and the Pies will lose Sidebottom and Maxwell
They will gain Swan, Grundy (Jamar will smash him) and Ball though
-
All you conspiracy theorists who reckon he won't go because he's from Collingwood are in la-la land.
Agreed. It's cut and dried - elected to bump when he could have tackled, off the ground, collected high with elbow, concussion and subbed (not to mention a completely unnecessary act). There is no way he can get off

Despite all that, they have kicked the [censored] out of the aints in the last 10 minutes or so!!
The saints pressure is not up to our recent stardard though. The Pies are getting a lot of space
Should be 3 down to 2 for sidebottom

And swan late withdrawal with "sore heel", grundy with "tight back". Big break til QB though
-
He has to be gone. At least reckless, head high contact then low vs medium contact (if weller is subbed it has to be medium at least) - low equals 2 weeks down to 1 with early plea. I think he has a good record though
Maxwell has done his ?calf and is subbed

Garland to Schulz
McDonald to Westhoff
Jetta to Wingard
Grimes to Gray
Dunn and Terlich to whoever is left

Instead of which three players?
If anyone can will themselves to run and present as much as Matt Jones his spot could be open (poor disposal obviously lets him down). I can't see him going anytime soon though, one of the hardest workers in the team
-
Jones has said he definitely plans to be there for the birth of his baby. I hoping he doesn't plan skip the game though just because it's in Alice Springs and the baby is due around the same time. Babies rarely come on their exact due date and anything between 37 to 41 weeks is considered quite normal. And even if she goes into labour while he's in Alice Springs, usually first time mothers have long labours so I would think he would be able to get back in time.
Really hope he plays! -
Griffen had similar tackles and they were dribbling over his game on Saturday....
He got votes in the age
-
I suspect they are appealing just because there's no downgrade with an early plea, may as well

Interesting stat from over on the saints bigfooty board
Saints Avg Age: 24.13

Who is number 50?
Carlton and collingwood spies in attendance

Tell me one squib who is no longer a squib in the AFL? Bryce Gibbs was a squib when he was drafted, still is. And prime example was Cale Morton. Don't kid yourself, this is ingrained in him

I can't believe people rate Spencer. Sure he improved last year but he will never be more than VFL standard

Right so it doesn't mater what team our opponent fielded????
FFS this was Port, not Hawthorn.
It is the core of our team. Take the core out of any team (bar perhaps the top 2 or 3) and they will struggle no matter who the opposition is. Simple.

Clark, Watts, McKenzie, Moloney, Jamar, Davey, Jurrah, Sellar, Tapscott....etc
Anyone who expected us to win last night is kidding themselves

Nice post B-H, until I got to the last line. Boak, Caddy, Viney and Wines,,, If we got Boak & Viney, I don't think we would need Caddy & Wines. But moreso, Stringer, & Mayes.
2 hard inside types would be more than enough, but we'd need skilled inside run'n'carry players
Or Jack Martin

I agree with "Binman" that Tim Smith looks promising.
Is it true he's only 18? A mate told me that but I doubt it. If he is young, we should do what the Eagles do, and keep him under wraps. Or perhaps make up some derogatory rumor about his behavior as they did with Darling to put others off the scent at draft time, then snap him up ourselves. He looked stronger and better than Cook at this stage.
According to the Casey website he is 21 (born 1991)
-
He picked up Tex Walker with pick 75 in this day and age where the draft is a lot more accurate, so couldn't hurt to have a go!
Pretty sure he was one of those NSW scholarship players which is why they were able to get him on the cheap.
He has made plenty of other very good picks though

Interesting (sobering) stat: we've won 3 of the 24 quarters we have played.
GWS (having played one less game) have won 4. Gold Coast have won 5. Port have won 7, Richmond 8, and everyone else has won 10 or more.
There have been a lot that we have lost by less than a goal though (yesterday the 1st/4th quarters, last week we won the 2nd and lost the third by a point, against the dogs we drew the third and lost the 2nd by 6 and the last by 7, against rich: lost 1st by 13, won 2nd by 5, lost third by heaps, drew the last). In recent weeks we have managed to pretty much stamp out quarters when we get blown away which has been an big improvement. Hawthorn will be a huge test this week, they are the kings of killing the game in one quarter.

The way he goes on about the "mick turner football factory" down at the falcons irritates me to no end. He mentions it basically every time I hear him commentate. They are best mates and mick turner...well the less said about him the better (everyone in geelong knows that he is not a good person)

What has happened tonight to bring all of this on?
-
Cheney is not an important player for us. He asked to be traded to a club that would give him more opportunity, we did the right thing by him.
he is not worth much, and we didn't get much for him. Given I would have liked him to be de-listed, I think this is a great outcome for all parties, and wish him well at hawthorn.
-
I was all for getting Hale for our second pick, no more. He isn't worth more than that and we should just let the GC pay over the odds if they wish. Make no mistake, north want hale gone - they have 3 ruckman ahead of him (McI, gold, petrie), he is probably the highest paid of the three, and his trade value is high. It would be a big waste if they keep him on their list. don't get sucked in DB and co., pick 32 or no trade.
A player like Jesse White (also under contract) or mitch clark (unlikely), we could throw more at, e.g. pick 12 and warnock/pick 32.

The thing I love about him is that he is always presenting. He's always the one getting those short chip kicks down the wing because he works so hard. His kicking lets him down at times though
