    Ben Brown is gettable.  kangaroos-are-shopping-ben-brown-to-other-clubs

Sounds like North will test the water and if Brown gets a package that lands them a 1st round pick (#3-#5) they will let him go.

I believe Barrett is a North supporter so he would have good mail.

I post that for info.  Not interested in going after him.

    Barrett supports freo I believe.

We should look at Alex Witherden who is on the outer at Brisbane.

Adelaide and North are poised to shake up the top end of the draft.  They are 18th and 17th respectively and that is unlikely to change.  So they get pick #1 and #2.

If they let Brad Couch and Ben Brown go as FA's, each will command good $ contracts and clubs will get a 1st round comp pick.  At the moment this would be pick 2 (Adelaide) and 4 (North).

Also, Adelaide have GWS's first round pick and North have ours. Both likely to be around pick 10-12.

It must be tempting to give up on 2020 take a bounty to the draft and with so many high picks they can cherry pick the non-affiliated players.

Brad Crouch should only be worth an end of first round pick. Bog average AFL midfielder

    He deserved it.

In fairness to Fitzpatrick he was only brought in as an insurance depth for their talls. Don't think they ever had in mind that he would come in and eventually be a best 22 in their side.

Fitzy is a weird unit though. He sees himself a Hawthorn man more then a Demon. Only have to see his twitter handle and constant barracking of the hawks on a weekly basis.

He grew up a Hawks fan

  4. Joel Smith could be a good matchup for Charlie Cameron. He kept Danger quiet when down forward and quick enough to stay with Cameron on the ground. Lockhart would be the unlucky one to go.

T Mac in if fit for Jackson

How good is it to have a real wing man that has a tank and is quick? And knows how to find space.

I keep hearing about his poor kicking skills but I think he is alright. He was really important in the first half

He knows his limitations which is so important. I have been super impressed with him

Weeds should NEVER have been out of that side, But Goody knows best right!?? Im not sure but if Nev was on Rankine for the most then he was beaten. i LOVE nev but he appears to be slowing down.

Jetta wasn’t even on screen for Rankine’s first 2 goals. Lockhart was on him for the first. Wasn’t clear for the second, maybe Lever.
He was on him for the third obviously, as well as his late missed point. The other late shot was from a poor free kick (from memory).

I think the Jetta criticism is a bit overblown. Far from his best game but he wasn’t our worst.

Nicely entrenched in the bottom 4 where we clearly belong.

Our coach is truly a disgrace. I was waiting to see the team selections in action and boy was I right in my suspicious. Jetta for Lockhart, a miss. Played Hannan and AVB and Fritsch and Melksham which just makes no sense.

No second tall forward even tho both Weid and Jackson are fit.
Back line is also a [censored] show. People can have a go at Omac all they like, but he can actually defend. Joel Smith gives us nothing. How many times were we mismatched down back because we didn’t go in tall enough?

I am so disappointed with our game plan and selections. A fully fit list and this is the [censored] we put on the field.

I think you’ve missed the mark with a bit of this. Lockhart was aggressive and excellent defensively. A couple of slip ups with ball in hand but he will stay in. Jetta could come in for Hibberd potentially (got caught without a right foot all game). Agree on the short forward line, did not work. Weid or Brown for VDB. Hannan was an excellent addition though.

Our tall defenders actually did pretty well in the air defensively, Smith included. He also used the ball well. Hawkins killed us on the lead. If OMac comes in (which I support), it should be for Lever who is not able to play his role.

On that point there is growing body of evidence that it does not transmit easily outdoors. The BLM marches here in the USA have seen very little transmission so far, though masks apparently might play a big role in this. It has been two weeks since ours and there have been no clusters. In both examples it is possible there still might be an uptick in cases but thus far outdoors look pretty safe.

Almost everyone at the Melbourne BLM prostest was wearing masks. Meanwhile McKenna was expelling his secretions everywhere in that training vision (onto his hands that were tackling others and handling the ball).

Covid is everywhere in the US and cases are increasing (despite far far lower levels of testing) so I don’t know how that claim that there has been very little transmission from the matches could possibly be made.

The evidence around spread of the virus is poor. Governments are manipulating evidence to suit their agendas, for example regarding the spread in children (Ie that it spreads less) which is based on extremely poor evidence.

It is a ridiculously sneaky virus and i would not be at all surprised if another dons player tests positive in the next fortnight.

  9. Hannan 189cm

    VDB 188cm

    Fritsch 188cm

    +/- Smith 191cm

Not tall but not exactly short either. I figure that’s how they think we will compete.

The team looks good on paper to me, despite the lack of height. Hard running and using the space of the MCG will hold us in good stead.

True-  it's not the 1m further away from the player's target that matters much of the time, but the 1m less the player has to work in.  But I'd prefer the umpires to enforce the rules even-handedly and not let anyone get away with breaking them.

    Exactly. Agree 100%

One thing I have always envied about hawthorn is the way they man the mark with purpose, regularly going way over the mark and always get away with it. I’d like us to push the boundaries a bit more in that area.

Nope not me this is man thinking they can control things, they say the death rate is 3.4 % who get cov19 that die, which is incorrect, thousands more have already had the virus, had just  mild symptoms, not got tested and living on.so the death rate is about 1%, just deal with people when they get sick, the mental health problems this panic the Doctors are causing will create more problems. the only way to control this virus, is to ban all sporting competition close all shops and schools and every business. this season will put all clubs around 10 million loss the season will not get half finished, the tv station will not pay this year's money, player will not be paid, it's a disaster that need not happen, the world is become soft. Scaredy cat hypochondriacs.

As a health professional who has read a lot about the crisis, I have found the events in Italy terrifying. You are right that the mortality rate is low (around 1%). In Italy it’s closer to 10% because everyone has contracted the disease at once and the health system is completely overwhelmed. They don’t have the capacity to ventilate anyone older than 60. It’s nuts.
The measures that are being taken are to prevent everyone contracting the virus at once. If we spread the process over the next couple of months we will be fine. But if everyone continues with their normal activities and spreads the disease rapidly...we could be italy #2.
    So suck it up.

Yeah nah, to think otherwise is laughable, the wider football community and Richmond supporters would laugh at this. I

Castagna is by far a much dynamic and complete footballer then ANB.

Just remember also that during the year ANB  was dropped by the 2nd worst AFL club in the competition. Even at VFL level he was quite ordinary and didn't exactly bang the door down for selection.

The sooner Pickett and Bedford come on the better, as that would mean ANB is back playing 2s football where he belongs.

Castagna is the worst kick in the AFL
