I'd hate to think that it's suddenly irrelevant or not worth your while now that you're not just flinging accusations in my absense. You could even go back to that old thread you dredged up (the one you wanted to close) and answer some of the many questions that you avoided.

Why not ask your mate CC about unity? I remain loyal to the club. edit: I'm looking forward to some of that strong leadership at the top by the way. I haven't seen much of it over the last few years.

Yes, I did. I thought it was a particularly poor example for WJ to use because I made that statement to illustrate the fact that a poster was not addressing the substance of my posts and was merely spouting off a glib one-liner. Can you see the irony? Why don't you go back to that thread and read the many well-supported, comprehensive replies I gave to questions and arguments posted by you and others. I was far more indulgent with my responses than you ever were and 12 pages in and numerous personal attacks (countenanced by Admin WJ) later it is hardly surprising that I grew tired of the whole thing. Although it was a glib one-liner that was made to illustrate the poor standard of debate by others on the issue, I stand by my statement that Don McLardy has been an incompetent "President". Perhaps if you start a thread spelling out why you think he has been such a great performer, I might even reply. Then again, I might not bother because I don't owe you my continued indulgence and, as RobbieF points out, I don't have to post. As a starting point and given that it is relevant to this thread, why not ask yourself what Don knew about the tanking. He was either ignorant and therefore incompetent or just plain incompetent. I would normally apologize for the derailment of the thread at this point but given that Admin WJ has been primarily responsible, I can only assume that he officially approves and that such an apology would not be appropriate.

WJ, your selective and out of context quoting of me re: Don McLardy demonstrates that you are being willfully inaccurate. I am not surprised that you have that quote at your fingertips as it came shortly after I completely embarrassed you with a reasoned argument that was based on evidence. It was a fairly typical example of my writing. By contrast and putting the simple insults aside, most of the criticism leveled at me by you and others has consisted of baseless accusations of "having an agenda". Such accusations are typically irrelevant, meaningless, and impossible to prove or disprove. Minority opinions are not welcomed on this forum, it is getting worse and the double standard is clear. Ask yourself why people are still asking Fan questions about his status as a former mod, whilst no-one questions the appropriateness of your continued personal attacks on me, in my absence, as an Admin. It is a shame what is happening to Fan. He has always been a very civilized and moderate poster in my opinion. I daresay I was a more civilized and moderate poster before I was subjected to personal attacks after every post. I still like to think I hold myself to a higher standard than my detractors though - including you.

What logic indeed. You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. I'm not going to reveal my sources, but whatever you and others might think of my supposed biases, I don't make things up. Here's a tip for you, next time you're rubbing shoulders with senior figures at the club, instead of battering your eyelashes at them, why don't you ask them some tough questions about Schwab's involvement with drafting. Assuming they are willing to show the slightest amount of transparency towards a paid up MFC member, you can then come back on here and apologize for your ignorance.

We can only hope. I can't say I'm convinced about the Board's ability to remain impartial though - they have already demonstrated that they were not able to get rid of Schwab last time when the heat was on.

So you have no idea but you are giving him the benefit of the doubt because good CEOs don't interfere with draft selections. Therefore, Schwab must not have interfered with draft selections. Therefore, Schwab must be a good CEO. Nice logic there mate. Especially when you consider that this is a guy with a track record of inappropriate interference in football matters. If you have no idea about whether Schwab has been involved in drafting - why did you say that it was obvious that he hadn't? For what it is worth, I do know that Schwab has interfered with our drafting since 2008 and I have had this verified by a member of the Stynes/Mclardy Board.

You'd like to think so. But then you'd also like to think that he doesn't interfere with the coaching either. Still obvious?

I am saying that CS and Prendergast worked together on drafting and that Schwab is directly responsible for some of our drafting selections since 2008. Schwab interfering in football matters - who would have thought it? This is a fact and I have had this verified by a member of the Stynes/McLardy Board. I am saying that if Ben-Hur wants to throw blame around for our recent drafting, he should include Schwab along with "Richard Griffiths, Craig Cameron, and Barry Prendergast". He can't bring himself to do it though. And as Ben-Hur points out, Griffiths was pre-2000 anyway so I don't know what your problem is. Maybe you should spent less time trying to have a go at me and more time paying attention to what is happening to our club.

It doesn't matter either way. I'm not trying to stand up for McNamee here. None of us will know if he ever would have worked out because Stynes couldn't wait to sack him and give his job to his mate. It's obvious to me that supporters, especially demonlanders, have been reluctant to apply their usual critical standards to the Stynes/Schwab/McLardy group. I think it is pretty obvious to most people who give it genuine thought. It is part of the reason we are where we are and another element in our club's grievous problems with accountability.

I'm not sure I see the inconsistency. I am talking in practical terms here. I wouldn't have wanted them to admit to it if they could have pulled it off professionally in the first place.

Obviously I don't agree with your assessment of what's best for the club but your comment is fair enough. Do you also think it would be best for the club to retain McLardy and Schwab in the longer term?

I have the greatest respect for all of the everyday supporters who contribute to the club by donating their time and money and those who continue to purchase memberships, particularly when things are as bleak as they have been for the last few years. What does that have to do with anything?

I would say the sooner the better. We can still have a say in the result if we are willing to co-operate before our hands are forced.
