  1. Do you remember a kid by the name of Luke Herrington? He kicked 50 odd goals in 15 games in 2003. He played in the national under 18s championships and kicked 17 goals in 3 games, including 9 goals in a game against WA. He had 2 chances to be drafted as an under 18.

Just because you kick goals at under 18 level, it doesn't mean that you can do it at AFL level. Recruiters get paid to judge whether or not a player will be a good AFL player, not whether they are a good under 18 player. I can reel off a bunch of good under 18s players that couldn't cut it at AFL level, and also a bunch of good AFL players that weren't exceptional under 18s players.

Everyone is trying to help you understand because you've got great energy, but eventually they'll give up.

    Exactly.

It'd be interesting to compare Tom Rockcliff's TAC stats to that of Jack Watts.

  2. Maybe when you make statements like that, you actually come across a lot more foolish than most..

Give Daw the footy and watch him go to work..

I cant find highlights of LJ and Wonna that come close to Daws highlight package- obviously pre their AFL career- to compare.

The kicking, marking, tap work, 1% ers - smothering and forward-line pressure, tackling, turn of foot..

Have a look a few minutes in when he marks at half-back / wing, against 3 opponents, plays on from that mark - turns them inside out - bolts away from the 3 of them, even the smalls, runs to 50 and slots the goal..

You show me where LJ or Wonna showed that much promise pre- their AFL careers? That goal has 'superstar' written all over it.

We know how good theyve become / are becoming, but Daw looks every bit good as LJ or Wonna or even Nik-Nat did pre-AFL, even better. Just because some people see it that way, doesnt make them fools.

    Is this guy being serious??????

Quite possibly the most naive post I've ever read on demonland (and yes that includes Freak's 192cm assesement)

  3. Just heard but not 100% that it is going to be Jamar and pick 11 for Shaun Burgouyne. Just waiting for confirmation.

Hmm perhaps. I was speaking to a key stakeholder at Melbourne over 2 weeks ago and he remained adamant that the only way we were going to get Burgoyne was by offering him a pile of cash to come into the PSD. When I suggested that we trade pick 18 for Shaun, he stressed that we would not be giving that pick up. However that was before Brock came to the club and asked for a trade so maybe things have changed????

  4. The paper wrote that he was no longer top 10. I'd pick him up at 11 even though he's an ordinary kick, his height and agility are too good to pass up on in a weaker draft. He's definately not a top 2 pick.

    I read that aswell.

Stupid article there is no way known Butcher will fall to the Bulldogs pick. It states that he is the best KPP in the draft well you r tard (journalist) there is a team at pick 11 who are in dire need of another key forward.

  5. Ricky is a future gun, although I have heard whispers earlier in the year that he has his eyes set on GC17. At the time I found this very hard to believe but as it stands seeing as he hasn't signed a contract extension pass 2010, the speculation is warranted

  6. Hated the part in the article where it says that we should have rookied him last year, after being in the car to visit Nev Jetta and Bennell...

Turns out it would have been a steal!

Oh well... win some you lose some...

Knowing we got LJ in the PSD eases the pain.

If Jetta is available I wouldn't be dissapointed to see us pick him up with pick 11. Ableit I know nothing about the draft but it seems as if one of Carlisle, Black, Christenson etc will be available at pick 18

  7. Twitter is stupid.

People should live their own lives rather than trying to live someone elses life. Quite frankly, unless you are my family I could not give two shiits what you are doing now.

Further do you really think Swab, Robbo or for that matter anyone else is going to twitter complete strangers anything important, secret or worth reading. THUS ANY COMMENT FROM TWITTER ARE MEANINGLESS AND VALUELESS..... TWITTER IS FOR TWITS.

Shurely twitter is nothing more than a craze that will burn itself out.

It's called the Y Generation. Get with the program

  8. I imagine Scully and Temel will turn up for interviews with clubs and other non sporting procedures.

Actually maybe Scully won't it's not as if any other club will interview him, he's already a Melbourne player ;)

  9. I don't understand what's the big deal with the whole "go home" factor anyway. IMO it's the risk you take when you pick up anybody from interstate. It's funny how people only start to talk about it when high draft picks are involved. I've never heard anyone suggest that Jamie Bennell is heading home to WA soon.

Anyway Jack Trengove is going to have to move interstate anyway cause there is no way in hell he'll last to pick 8.

What would be great is if we could draft his best mate Tapscott with pick 11. Our very own Stuart Dew, to break the lines and kick it to Jurrah one on one.

  10. - 30 goals from Watts

    - 50 goals from LJ

    - Sylvia to win B and F

    -Scully to win Rising Star

    - For all our youngsters e.g. Blease, Strauss, Jetta, Bennell, Maric, Grimes, Morton, Watts, Trengove, Scully, Pick 11, Frawley, Petterd, Garland to show further improvement

    - Anywhere but the bottom of the ladder
