Trelly’s first request for his signature on a #33 guernsey. I told him he’ll be getting many requests for his signature on #33 guernseys. He smiled broadly. Luker saw us from a distance and came over. He said, “I assume that’s not yours, it’s a gift for someone, right?” I said yes. I lied. 😅

Ron (Riley Onley) is very agile and even nimble for his size.

Not sure if it’s already been mentioned but both Ricky Mentha and Roo have a gastro-type illness. They’re both expected back for Friday’s training session.

Hendo is rehabbing from injury, but it’s not his groin as some of us thought, his groin is (in his words) cherry ripe. This is a new injury. At the camp he started to feel pain in his lower back so was sent for scans. Turns out he has a small bone fracture in his sacrum. It’s called a fatigue fracture (same as a stress fracture). They told him it’s likely the result of him going too hard in the gym, coupled with the fact that he hasn’t been eating enough. He said he doesn’t think he needs surgery as it would’ve been scheduled and done already. He has a program that includes exercises that help with healing the area and he said the pain is manageable and has decreased a lot. Still on the subject of Hendo: he works so hard and does everything he possibly can to be at his best. Despite the injuries, he’s always in great spirits and is always optimistic. He’s simply a wonderful person in every way, and he’s ever-grateful to have been picked up by us.

Kozzie and Trelly are blood relatives but it’s by no means easy to explain. Trelly’s mum and Kozzie’s dad are first cousins. One of Kozzie’s aunts has children to one of Trelly’s dad’s cousins (Trelly’s second cousin). On Trelly’s dad’s side Kozzie is Trelly’s nephew and on Trelly’s mum’s side Koz and Trelly are second cousins. That’s how Trelly explained it. He must’ve noticed I was battling to keep up so he said I should write it down, and I did. There was no way I’d remember it. Trelly said Koz calls him “Uncle.” I said, “Really?” Trelly said “Yeah definitely, ask him.” So I did. Koz said yes he does call Trelly Uncle. At this point I was confident I understood the whole thing but then Koz said “and I call Trelly’s dad Pop.” Once again I was back to the land of confusion. I said “So, Trelly’s dad is your granddad?” Koz said, “Nah I just like calling him Pop.” He was greatly amused by my confusion. Cheeky bugger

I just said this to Wheels! I said how Dees supporters have long wished we could clone Koz and he said We kinda have 😅 Wheels said it’s the bloodline. He said “if a baby’s born and it’s a Pickett you know it’s gonna be a [censored] good footballer.”

Trelly is an absolute joy to watch. He doesn’t just have flashes of brilliance, he’s consistently outstanding. And fast! You blink and he’s moved 10 metres. It’s like there’s two of him out there.

I guess all will (might?) be known at the AGM.

Langdon also in concussion protocols. He copped a knock to the head during training.

Bowser won’t be on the LTI. JT said at this stage they’re hoping to not have to put him on it.

AMW is very close to being 100% He’s been told he will be in full training after Xmas. And he’s delighted.

Training today starts at 10.00am and further training continues on Friday, Saturday (Christmas get together), next Monday and finishes up a week from today, Wednesday 17th January 2025. Training resumes on Thursday 8th January - most likely at Gosch’s but that won’t be confirmed until a week or so before. Training won’t be at Waverley “for a long while yet” according to the Property Manager.

I voted again since I’m now new to Demonland. This time I only lied by a couple of decades. 😁

It would be great to get a big turnout for this event. Please try to make it there. Even if it’s for only part of the session. 8:30 on a Saturday morning is early but it will be worth the effort. While you’re all still in your jim-jams at 7am, I’ll be at Gosch’s setting up, so 8:30 is a sleep-in! Let’s show the boys our love and support! Especially the new guys. They’re all working so hard already and they’d love to see us make the effort to meet them ❤️💙 Edit: we will also have cupcakes and bracelets for sale in the DA tent. Just heard we’re playing North at Arden Street again. Date and time yet to be announced.

I’m trying hard to forget this year’s preseason matches. AMW at Arden St and Shane at Casey Fields (the latter wasn’t even against an opposition team). I’m sure I won’t be alone in worrying for the whole time during this match about potential injuries.

You’re right. But even for the locals this is not a good time/day for it.

That’d be outrageous! Imagine how many kids who live in Melbourne would be able to attend were it on a non-school day?! We can’t have that! Seriously, 4:10pm on a Friday sucks and apart from locals and retirees and nuffie DA members who luvs them a V/Line trek there won’t be many there.
