I think this thread is a gross over reaction to a long awaited impressive game from Brayshaw.

Trac has the attributes to be the best player in the comp at one stage, Brayshaw doesn't.

I was encouraged by Brayshaw's performance on the weekend, but I'm going to need to see it against some better opposition before I get on the bandwagon with everyone else. For me, his kicking is always going to hold him back.

I think some of your observations are off the mark also.

There is a reason Petracca is the 3rd rated small/medium forward on the AFL player ratings behind only Greene and Betts. He is elite at what he does.

    Same.

His first half on the weekend was pretty average. Fumbles, dodgy disposal.. etc. Second half he was a different player and was excellent.

I'd nothing more than him to become the gun we all know he can be, but a good half of football is a bit too early to make the call, for mine.

  2. Hunt practising torps out of the goal square. Most carried about 70m, right up the middle. His last one hit the egde of the centre circle so closer to 80m

Now trying torps at the goals from his favourite pocket. Nailed one of them. All the rest were all over the place... ?

    Trac is warming up

Suns out roof open roof closed today?

I work just down the road from Etihad and getting a couple of hours in before the game starts.

As at 10.30am, the roof was open.  Hopefully they close it.

You can sign up to the overseas pass on a 2 week free trial... i did that when in Thailand last month. Worked a treat. Just dont forget to unsubscribe after the game.

    Ooh!! Sweet - THANKS!!!!!!

  5. Pathetic. And I'm not talking about Lever...

    Its always the same here.

Rag on a player for whatever reason, bemoan drafting him, his continual selection, his limitations.. etc

Nek minnit... wow guys, that guy is good!

I remember eveyone here used to say Tmac was no good. How'd that work out?

Last year Omac was the continual whipping boy.

    Levers turn now is it?

Why not just spare yourselves and everyone else the premature rants, and wait.

  6. Garletts weapon is speed. He is not a pack marker. You can't expect him to do much with it when almost every entry into the forward 50 is bombed on top of his he head, often to a 2 on 1

That said, he could have spent a bit more time up the ground

  7. I'd have been interested to see what the general theme of this thread would have been, had Gawn nailed his shot.

One kick has seemingly turned the analysis of an entire game from what would have been reasonably positive (2nd quarter aside), to overwhelming negative.

Wouldn't be like Mark Stevens to get a couple of Melbourne players mixed up, now would it?

I was standing next to Mark Stevens about this time last year during a training session and he was dead set trying to turn players leaving the field to get a rub down into some newsworthy injury.

"Zoom in on <player> over there <cameraman>, I reckon he's done a hammy. Yep, yep, he has. He just touched it. Get a close shot please"

    Nek minnit...

Player runs back on and resumes training.....

Someone here once said that they liked the Sunday games because at least their whole weekend wasn't ruined by a loss on the Friday or Saturday.  Made perfect sense at the time too.

We've got 7 Sunday free-to-air games next season so we may as well embrace it and make the best of it.  Like others,  I don't mind the time slot.  These days,  any game on a Saturday afternoon is never on free-to-air

Dont know if it was me who mentioned it when you read it, but thats something I've always said.

After an early weekend loss I just want to forget about footy for a few days and so find it hard to enjoy watching any other games in the round. Often dont even feel like going to the local footy!

    Bring on Sundays!

Just an observation really - one year deal reads to me he has one year to show something - if he doesn't I suspect his time at the MFC may be short lived

Not sure how that can be construed as complicating anything - am I allowed to have an opinion ?

Balic took several leave of absences didn't he, citing homesickness? Maybe the one year contract is simply the club not overcommitting incase there is more to it?
