  1. Very encouraging if his partner wants to stay. That's usually the main motivation for wanting to head home. I firmly believed he was out the door last season and if Bolton hadn't gone to Freo then we would've traded him for all of their firsts. Letting him spend a lot of extra time in WA is really good from the club tbh.
  2. The comments specifically from Gawn is what they're talking about I think. Which is ironic becuase Luke Ryan was on the radio after the Melbourne game talking about Pickett playing for freo soon. Also mentioned that Jackson's camp are [censored] off at Melbourne too cos they reckon all the leaks are coming from here.
  3. That's what it keeps coming back to. I just can't see Freo letting him go unless Kozzy goes back their way. Not while he still has four years and Darcy can't get on the park. Maybe its better to have a look at him a couple years down the track.
  4. .
  5. Luke was very non-comittal post game. Gave a general "I don't read into that stuff"...."just focus on playing footy." Yet all the Freo sources and freo connected Journos insist he's told the club it's all bs... Sounds like a Neale to Fremantle situation where there's a commitment to the team he wants to be traded to while hiding it from his current team.
  6. Pretty much what’s been said already. Except makes a point to mention that the position he plays (ie make me number 1 ruck) has more of an influence on his decision than the family issues. Also that Sean Darcy is on 700k which is honestly less than I thought. The dude clearly doesn’t think very well because I’m sure when he came to the club he was told he would be second to Darcy. I wonder if he wants to be Ruck or just around the ball more. Surprised they didn’t play him more as a midfielder when Darcy wasn’t injured.
  7. I mean if you read the full quote Houston never actually lied. They're all carefully crafted statements. Even from Jacksons manager today it all alludes to him staying, but reading the words he actually stops short of saying that explicitly.
  8. Worth noting that Ryan Daniels is famously a Freo propaganda journalist. He says whatever the club tells him to say. His words mean very little in the scheme of things.
  9. So I guess we'll be dealing with this many more times throughout the year... https://www.afl.com.au/news/1320541/contract-calls-loom-for-stars-don-keen-to-play-on-wafl-forward-on-msd-radar
  10. Im sure it will continue to be a distraction wherever he is to be honest. There’s no way we get him without giving up Kozzy, and if Kozzy doesn’t want to leave then Freo have no incentive to trade him to us. I’d much rather keep Kozzy
  11. Hey not my fault his family aired everything out publicly
  12. If he had made that decision by himself then you could say that. Making that decision after dating a girl 10 years his senior for a few months says otherwise though. Cutting off parents is one thing, but when it extends to literally everyone he knew in WA I think it's a bit more concerning. I find it hard to believe that all of a sudden he's realised that everyone he's been close with since he was a child is actually an awful person. You'd surely think he'd have at least a couple people on his side. Either way, it now seems almost inevitable that we're going to swap him for Kozzy so I just hope that off field stuff doesn't become a distraction.
  13. Don't think it matters to him anymore 🤣
  14. I can't see a way this happens without Pickett being involved. We don't have anything to give them.
  15. It could be good now because it leads him back to us, but I think it says more about the type of person he is. The fact that he was influenced by his family and friends to move back to Perth, then within 5 months of dating this girl has been influenced to cut off all ties with almost all his friends/family in WA says that he doesn't really think for himself and we could find ourselves in a similar situation again. And on the other side of things how well can he really play when he has all these off field issues going on in the background? I don't think they'll suddenly dissappear just because he's moved across the country.
  16. All I get from this is that he's very easily influenced. I'm sure there's a situation where we trade for him and breaks up with his girlfriend and then all of a sudden makes amends with his family and wants to go home. It looks like the deal is getting done though. Interesting after AFL.com.au reported he wanted to sign an extension but apparently things have escalated since. I'm not happy about it cos it means we'll lose Kozzy for nothing and get Jackson back for him who we don't really need considering Max is still the best in the comp.
  17. They should be careful. Apparently LJ has cut off all of his previous childhood best friends.
  18. That's just not true. Jackson, as ruck/kpp, contracted for two years longer on top of that (maybe even more with an automatic trigger) is easily worth more than Kozzy. We would have to send away Kozzy AND extra on top of that if we wanted Jackson back. Dockers have no other ruck with Darcy always injured. There's zero chance they do a straight swap. I'd honestly rather keep Kozzy and try again for Jackson in a few years if he's still keen.
  19. Yeah regardless of how real him wanting to come back is he's basically trapped there. Darcy is fully cooked now. No way they trade him for anything. Don't even think they'd be that desperate for Kozzy anymore.
  20. Looking at their line up for tonight I wonder if we'll see him playing as a midfielder.
  21. Seems downright impossible if he hits his triggers though. Contracted till 2031 would make him worth more than Kozzie. Apparently Michael Frederick might be on the out if they lure Kozzie home. I think he'd be worth a look. Super fast, great overhead, and great shot at goal. Think he can be a much better player than he is on the dockers. They don't use him well enough.
  22. Nah a lot played out very publicly in a Facebook comment section that made it clear that he’s definitely got reason for going back here. Look at the pics for his 100th game. Only one family member there. For a guy who moved back for family. Whatever those issues are though apparently he loves Freo enough that he’s willing to overlook them to stay at the club. he has triggers that will take him to 2031 and apparently now his management is trying to get an extra two on top of that. but the issues are very much real and there’s still a lot of time left until the end of the season….
  23. I don't think Warner was ever going to choose Freo over WC. Don't think Freo had the money. But they still would've put all their attention into him meaning Kozzie would've been more unlikely. If Bolton hadn't popped up at the end of last year Kozzie would be in purple already. Only thing stopping them now would be if a bigger fish feigns interest. Realistically if there's any year to trade him it would be this year imo. At least then we get at least two first round picks unaffected by Tassie. Wait a year or two and the value of those picks will just get worse and worse (and let's be real, we're not doing anything in the next two years anyway). They have guys on their list that would be of interest though. Murphy Reid is one who will likely end up in Victoria after his initial contract is up. May as well try and pry him out earlier. There was definitely truth to Jackson wanting to come home but all the latest on that was that they were working on a two year extension with him so that's looking unlikely.
  24. That was as good a job interview as you've ever seen 🤣
  25. Pickets manager is the same as Bolton’s, who also denied that Bolton was requesting a trade up until the very moment Richmond made it official that he had requested a trade. I won’t buy any talk from him.
