Farewell Judd McVee
If it was money he would be at WC. Have you heard him speak at all since he got traded? Every second word out of his mouth is Clark. I’m sure if we gave him a ten step plan about how we were going to turn him into Clark he would’ve stayed.

The pick we got for Judd was originally WCs pick anyway. Also not comparable to Jackson. Judd didn’t go to Freo cos he wanted to go home. He was very settled here. He went to Freo because he wants to get turned into Jordan Clark.

Signed a 5 year deal with the dockers

Man he sounds enamoured with Jordan Clark lmao. Wouldn’t be surprise if Freos whole pitch was just pressing play on Clark’s AA highlights

Are Freo the kings of luring players “home” and then trading them out a few years later? Hill, Hogan, Lobb, Acres. Could have very well been Jackson again this year too.

They could’ve given 12 and gotten 19,23 and kept the 33. Not very often you see teams downgrade their first for less points. Especially when they’re doing it to help facilitate a trade between two other teams. Especially so early on in the trade period with so many players left to move. They could’ve come up with an early 20s pick to satisfy us in so many different ways involving only their pick 12. They’ll play it off as a win because they were able to get the trade for McVee done but unless there’s something missing it’s a very weird trade for them. And on top of all that they traded 44,50 and got 46 in return which is also absurd lol cos they’ve just downgraded theirs third pick for no reason and given their fourth away for nothing. The more I think about it the less this trade makes sense for them and the happier I get lmao

I think 23 for McVee is pretty bang on. What’s hilarious though is Freo convincing themselves that 12+33 for 19+23 was a good trade for them/

I mean they clearly are otherwise they would’ve offered 33 outright and not budged. It’ll be a pick in the 20s and that will be considered his worth given he’s ooc

We're not sending him to the PSD because this is the real world and not some fairytale demonland forum. These people work and negotiate with each other every year they need to remain relationships otherwise the next time we want a player out of Freo they laugh in our face and demand the world.

I wonder if they’ll look at swapping their 12 with someone like Essendon to get 20 and 26 or with WC for similar picks and then we get whatever 20s pick

Meek should've been steak knives in the Jackson deal then. Hell even get Rory Lobb in that year and we probably make the gf in 2023.

They have Brandon Walker who locks down the smalls if they want to use him. And if they don’t we should be ringing up his manager ASAP

Fans love to bring this up every time a player requests a trade. That’s just not how it works. When a player nominates a club you will be dealing with that club only. No matter what WC offer we won’t be dealing with them since Judd doesn’t want to go there. He’s not contracted to the club anymore so we can’t pick and choose.

If WC were interested in Judd, and Judd was interested in them, then there’s nothing stopping them from taking him to the PSD. And we sure as hell aren’t getting that pick 19 while they have the psd threat

. They gave him Opportunity and space to develop in the position he wanted to play which Geelong refused to do. He had 3 seasons, Judd had 4. You can argue all you want but no doubt Judd sees similarities between that situation and his.

Clark got turned into an AA by the dockers. They’ve sold that same vision to Judd. And they have Bailey Banfield playing off half back so they sure have room for him to slot in. Actually off the top of my head I can’t think of any other running half backs they have aside from Clark.

Jordan Clark. Went from not being able to get a game to an AA player. Which ironically is probably the exact example that convinced Judd to go over.

That’s one way to get someone over. Pull up clips of how [censored] they are lol

Amiss has kicked 115 goals from 70 games to lead everyone from that draft class. This was his worst season and still had 32 goals as a 21 year old. very underrated but if we could get him here would be a dream. Contracted until 2029 there’s no chance we get him without giving up a first outright.

Farewell Judd McVee
I do rate him but he’s 30, injured a lot, and probably worth a lot more to Freo than he would be to us. Brandon Walker seems to have fallen out of favour with them and he’s a really quick half back who’s great lockdown on those quick smalls. He’s someone we should be going after
-
Farewell Judd McVee
Yeah I don’t think they’d get it, but they rate him very highly internally. Not someone they’d willingly offer up.
-
Farewell Judd McVee
They would demand a first for him alone. We’re not getting a player out of this. I think our best bet is getting them to upgrade their 29 a bit so we get like a pick 23-25 instead.

Langdon had finished 4th and 5th in the years before he was traded. Same age. Thats your reference. This is an out of contract player who we only offered 2 years to on not great money. We have no right to ask for pick 11. I guess it is Freo though, not Geelong. But I think all that means is that they’ll start with 29 instead of 38. The carry on is way over the top. A player signed a contract, fulfilled his contract, and now is leaving after finishing his contract.

Broke into the team midway through the year then did a really nasty shoulder injury that kept him out. I watched one of his games before that and he looked pretty good off half back. Apparently a new role for him this year after being tried half forward for a while. Contracted until 2027 though so would be a separate trade from Judd.

Ok but you guys realise this is not always simply about a player wanting to go home though right? It's a player getting offered a better role, money, years, whatever it is and pursuing that opportunity. The fact that Judd is from WA means that Fremantle gets considered and it becomes a narrative of "he's homesick, he wants to go home" when that isn't the case. It's not a Jackson situation where he wants back in WA. It's he specifically wants to play at Fremantle. If they weren't interested he wouldn't still be going back to WA.
