Obviosly If we can get Luke Ball I'd have him In.

Apologies to Blease, Bennel, Jetta, Strauss, Cheeney, Maric.

Not bad but there is no chance in hell Watts will play CHF until 2011 at least

  3. If you add Vice to that I'd be right there. I just don't think he's good enough to be Captain. I don't just mean as a player either. Rousing speeches are one thing but long term leadership is quite another. I'd have Davey ahead of him at the moment.

That's a fair point. I was thinking along the lines of having someone as captain who is so passionate and would lead by example. But vice captain would be fair as he would still be in the leadership group.

FWIW I believe captain is only a © that goes next to someones name, there should be two or three leaders that will set the example and Beamer is definately one of those. Whether or not he's officially captain I believe the team would follow his example and listen to him as he is genuinely passionate.

  4. Two things I like about this kid.

    1) It has been posted that he never gives up and tackles hard and the good sign here is that it is over a number of games he does this .. not just one or two odd ones.

    2) His disposal on both sides of his body is good, also he shows an ability to kick running goals which is a very good quality to have.

The one thing that might stop us from drafting him would be his height as we already have a number of players that are about his height running around.

Top prospect though and I would not be displeased if he was drafted to MFC.

  5. Moloney's a fantastic club man and I thought it was great that he showed his passion at the B & F. I couldn't give a toss about Mclean anymore and I'd be happy to see Moloney standing over him with a snarl after putting him into the turf. However does this make Moloney Captain material, I don't think so. He's just not a talented enough footballer to lead what is fast turning into an extremely talented lineup. Remember the next Captain of this club will be expected to lead us to our first Premeirship in over 45 years.

Ok no offence but that point is moot. No one would say Tom Harley was an extremely talented footballer, James McDonald, Nick Maxwell, Dom Cassissi ? Being the best player doesnt mean anything its about your qualities as a leader and how a team responds to you. For the record I think Moloney would make an excellent captain, he is loyal courageous and strikes me as a person who would pull someone who was doing the wrong thing into line very quickly.

  6. What are your thoughts on us drafting him as a ruckmen/pinch hitting forward until Spencer develops. Can kick a long ball is and a good player.

Bryan, 27, played 30 games in three seasons for the Magpies after arriving via the pre-season draft at the end of 2006 from Carlton, where he played 16 games in two seasons.

He was originally drafted by the Blues from VFL club Frankston with the 73rd pick in the 2004 NAB AFL Draft.

Bryan’s best year was 2008, when he played 17 senior games including both finals against Adelaide and St Kilda. He also played in the memorable extra-time semi-final victory over West Coast in 2007, as well as the five-point preliminary final loss to Geelong a week later.

  7. Fairly sick of people knocking Brad Miller. Watch how he goes about his football. Bailey's game plan has been making him look crap cause he hasnt been able to want to kick goals. He leads all the time.. never stops he is strong and quick off the mark, watch him closely before you start bagging me here. His kicking is not that bad really he kicks more goals than he misses, all he needs is for the instruction to kick the goal not look to pass when he is 45 out.

I rate Brad Milller highly and would like him to stay on the list. The point I made to start this thread is if the demons dont want him then trade him dont let a good player go for nothing. I think given our improvement and now we are looking to kick goals watch for a very good year from Miller.

  8. Hmm well with Bartram you could understand if he didnt have another club to go to as his father passed away recently, But with him Mclean and Mcnamara and also Davey almost leaving im not sure i like what im hearing regarding our club. Clearly some players are very agitated and its disturbing not knowing why. How many more players are going to be [censored] off and want out ?

  9. Well to borrow a joke from an earlier thread and make it serious. I honestly believe if the great Ron Barrassi is up to it, get Bails to arrange a meeting with Ball, himself and Barrassi and talk about how we are on the up and the history behind us and try to get him excited about making the oldest club in the AFL powerful again. We have an exciting list and its not like Ball is at the end of his career as he is only 25. I think it could have some real benefits however NO POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS!!

  10. http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,8659,2...5018851,00.html

After reading this im not sure I would like to get him here. Alot of North officials are angry that they bent over backwards to get him right and he still leaves them and decides for good measure to give them a spray via his manager Liam Pickering.

Could be bad attitude coupled with being injury prone. Reminds me of Chris Judd turning us down when the facilities weren't good enough.

  11. Ball is not brilliant..but he;s very good... He's consistent and stable..a good head.

    Where's Barass ?? lol :D

I am fairly sure that was meant as humour but its actually a brilliant idea. Ron Barrassi would be the perfect person to get to recruit players to our club. Let him sit down with Ball and give him a talk and im sure he will want to sign

  12. Is it just me or does it seem that Brad Miller signing only a one year contract is a bit odd considering when his contract expires the Gold Coast come in. Surely we could have signed him for 2 years therefore if he wishes to go there we could trade for a pick instead of potentially losing him for nothing considering all the picks GC have I would think that he would fetch a decent one.
