Who's the biggest bloke in our VFL list? Not named Schache or Fullarton.
What about Viney to stand next to him all game as a defensive forward ?

We need someone to go with / run with / tag, call it what you like, Nick Daicos.
Very few on the list have the defensive mindset plus the speed to do it.
Judd McVee is one who can.

Reality check.
Goodwin has to come under extreme pressure now. This has been building since thr Brisbane game.
Tim Lamb needs to also come under serious scrutiny, he's butchered the list since the grand final.
The DNA of today’s performance goes back pre season 2022.
The elephant’s been in the room since then.
This team, IMO, fell for the tap of thinking they could turn the tap on ( resulting in quick succession of goals) when whenever the felt like it. Whilst it made for spectacular viewing it had a underlining arrogance to it. Supporting that mindset was Goodwin’s and the FD’s Blind faith in the Game plan, the players abilities and the overall quality of the list. It was clear to see due to the sameness and lack of innovation, the reluctance to change during games and even in list management.Strangely, we all have something to look forward too, a line in the sand moment.
That is the Players and FD response, not just for next week v Collingwood, but ever game for the rest of the season until there is no more.Lack of an appropriate response should demand very serious changes off season.
On the other hand a Flag may still result.
Over to you Simon Goodwin and the 23 that run out each week.

Can you really use loading as an excuse for a 90+point loss?
Don’t worry, some will try.

That’s one of our problems, Arrogance.
We have let A Grade Players walk and they have been replaced by below average discards…
That’s the word, Arrogance.
Like an Elephant the room since post 2021.
One very small positive is, the ‘True Believers’ might now consider taking their One Eyed Blinker off.

Getting smashed and people are blaming the umpires? Come on.
First to the ball = first to the free.Whilst not blaming this pathetic performance on the Umpires, aren’t people allowed to comment on poor decisions ?

How in hell does the AFL justify these guys?
Umpire No.10 Robert O’Gorman
They should be named.
The AFL won’t like it though.- 1

Yes, perhaps that’s a by-product of valuing Effort (contested possession) over every other facet.

Time to hang up the boots Ben. Very disappointing past three games. Just lumbers about and barely breaks a mild jog.
West Coast: 99 minutes for 3 touches, 1 goal and 1 tackle.
Brisbane: 97 minutes for 4 touches, 1 goal and 0 tackles.
Adelaide: 82 minutes for 5 touches, 0 goals, and 1 tackle.
And those games, and no doubt some others as well,
MFC have played “a Man short”.- 1

I get your frustration but we didn’t lose it at selection
by your own admission Fullarton wouldn’t have been the difference
Mate, I totally agree with you about the ultimate Match result. Fullarton wasn’t going to win the game for us.
My concern is that the ‘ Non Selection’ was a sign of a deep seated attitude within the Match commitee.
And whilst I’m very disappointed with the result, I’m not frustated. I’m much more concerned with the implications for the rest of the year. At the very least it shows the just how beatable we are.
That said, I still think we are good enough to win the flag, but a change of attitude, both on and off the field, will be required.

so who is killing it at Casey that you would have brought in?
you can’t go on that rant without at least providing an alternative
It wasn’t just about tonight, this has been brewing since October 2021.
To answer your question, Fullarton.
But the fact we are almost bereft of talent at Casey must be an indictment on the Club as well.

most were supportive on here at selection. you honestly thing Fullarton would make a difference with 21 less inside 50s?
No, Fullarton wasn’t going to be the difference.
It goes deeper than what happened just on the field though. It so shows that the ‘Brains Trust’ are lacking creativity and innovation in Selection and are too staid in their thinking. At worst one could suspect that they will stick to their ‘favourites’ exclusively. Hardly good for the morale of some, for others, perhaps boasting their already healthy egos. Same attitude applies with the Game plan, despite somewhat of a tweak this season it has remained the same for many years.
This steadfastness, IMO, bordering on ‘pigheadedness’ ,has ,again IMO, cost the Club a Premiership in 2022 or 2023, or perhaps both years. After tonight the Alarms bells are ringing loudly for 2024 as well.

Hang your heads in shame
Goodwin and the selection committee should resign
The selection of Brown was ridiculous.
With Van Rooyen out, they were down not only a Key Forward but also their relieve ruck.Clearly Brown was not going to fill both roles.
They had the chance to try Fullarton in the role they brought him to the club for, but opted not to.
Arrogant or incompetent or weak decision.

The imbalance of our list really showing. We clearly can't trust Fullarton and he's just another break in case of emergency list blogger like Schache.
I’m confused, you say “CLEARLY can’t trust Fullarton”
Based on what ?
He hasn’t been given a chance yet.
This was the game to try him.
Instead they opted for Brown.
”IMHO” that was incompetency from the Selectors.

Again, and i promise im not being facetious, do you mean if you were a selector or that you think goody thinks salo is not a lock in our best side?
I ask, because they are two different things.
I’m curious, and I’m also not being facetious, do you believe that every comment which expresses the author’s opinion should be prefaced by “in my opinion” ?

But they keep telling us how great everything is and their lackeys in the media are so glowing in their appraisal of how wonderful everything is like their week long [censored] up in Adelaide despite the further inequities it creates in the fixture.
Loyalty to the MFC is being superceded by my hate for the AFL.
Yes, Gather Round is a great example of their bluff.
Despite what the AFL, the kowtowing media and the SA government say, the end result is, a lot of people are not able to see their team play in person.
But it is great for football we’re told.
Shows you where the average supporter ranks in their priorities.

Deep Midfield Issues
in Melbourne Demons

I’d like to see Oliver out in some space.
Playing him on a wing gives him more space plus might take some pressure off him.
In addition, in a one on one in space, even in his current form, he would win most contests, resulting in building his confidence.
He could be a real weapon for us in that situation.
Rivers into the guts to replace him.
