  1. Definately not. Cornes is a better talent than Dunn. Ok they may be somewhat close in body size but Chad Cornes is always going to be better than Dunn. Dunn has managed a few games this year and good on him. He has fairly good pace, nice skills and is determined. Chad Cornes is just super super talented. Sadly Lynden is not Chad. I wish I could say with such optmism that he is. He is not going to become similar to Chad Cornes. You could make the same sort of argument for many players. It is saying a good player with a certain body type is going to be like a superstar with the same body type in a few years. Players like Chad Cornes are EXTREMELY RARE. Dunn can be strong f/flanker or midfielder in his career and I look forward to him being a imprtant part of the MFC but if we play Dunn at CHB, we cannot win a premiership.
  2. Paul Gardiner!!!!!! He knew it was happening because Bailey told him. Didn't set it up or knew in advance.
  3. It is very true. Gardiner was on the Morning Glory this morning on SEN. Then Matt Thompson played it again during The Good Oil on the Sports update at 2. Guess I was just lucky to hear on the way to work. And at lunch. I found it very very impressive.
  4. Dont bag him, is your presence here now? Lay off, he obviously just made a mistake.
  5. Reported on SEN today. Gardiner stated that Bailey and Connolly went out for dinner last night by themselves to discuss if it could work between them. It was a private thing that Bailey did on his own. The club didn't have anything to do with it, they were both just really keen on having a discussion about the possibillity of Connolly being Football Operations Manager. This is something I am really hoping will happen.
  6. Ive just been having a read. Dunn at CHB??? You have got to be kidding. I love Dunn but you are seriously over rating him, especially whoever said he should be CHB over Rivers. Bell on Riewoldt is also stupid. Riewoldt is perfect for Rivers. P.S Bode, Buckley (LOVE HIM) are not going to be in the best 22. New draft pick maybe. And either Newton or Petterd will slip in.
  7. Should of heard him getting interviewed on SEN after the game. Was classic. Was making jokes and picking on Billy Brownless (interviewing) because the lid is off. Said he went for Geelong as a boy and Dermie said, "well you can get back on the cats now browny" to which doggy replied "No way mate, im a demon through and through" Also had a laugh about how he is gonna become a fireman. Go Doggy!!!
  8. Yep, I was for Bailey at start. For him now. If it wasn't Sheedy I desperatley wanted Bailey and Hardwick. Very happy with the choice.
  9. Then we are in real trouble. Cause they won't all be in 22. One will, if lucky (most likely petterd)
  10. You can use more than 2 midfielders mate. All the best teams have numerous. Id be open to looking at a pick 21, Travis Johnstone-Cameron Bruce, Mark Jamar. For Ryan Murphy and Paul Haselby.
  11. Just wondering if anyone is planing on heading to a few finals games. I know im hoping to get to Collingwood vs. Sydney on sat night to cheer for the swan against the filth. Anybody else?
  12. Say what you will. But he has turned the game into a billione dollar business. Really pushed for interstate teams. Made the competition, wider, attendance bigger, memeberships up, sponsorships, tv deals, radio deals, development has become far greater. Helps out lowely clubs. He has done wonders for the AFL.
  13. I think Davey will become a stronger force in midfield. Bailey was the midfield coach at Port. Which means he must have something to do with making a player like Pearce a midfielder. Pearce looked like a good goal scoring option in his first year, up on the F/Flank, but has become a seriously good midfielder this year. I was thinking maybe Bailey will try and do the same with Aaron.
  14. I can't believe how much people reject Yze. I don't think there is THAT much wrong with his game. He loves the red and blue and is a guarantee when fit finally after playing that many games his body was going to be struggling. Surgery, a full pre-season, Yze will be almost as good as ever, and for the lowest scoring team in the comp, Davey seeming to be headed up the midfield, we could use Yze to be the magical crumbing forward he has been for many years.
  15. Completely true. The AFL players are one of the only group of sportsman that put there hand up to be tested for recreational substances. Other league DO NOT test for this. I think people treat AFL players unfairly given they actually agree to be tested. All sports have drug users, but everyone acts like the AFL is the minority because they get tested.
  16. As much as we all love Newton, Petterd, Frawley. They won't be in there come round 1. With players like Rivers, Yze, Moloney fit, Neitz back in, Bartram, a new drafted player, a trade, a pre-season draft. Frawley, Petterd and Newton will continue to develop in Sandy. Rivers, Yze and Neitz are better. I don't think we will completely re-build with kids.
  17. I know he can play NAB Cup. Dno about Sandy, I would assume he can. Different league.
  18. In fairness Bizzel hadn't played for weeks.
  19. I remember Dermott Brereton saying on SEN after the game that from what he saw tonight the major problem in Bodes' game is his abilty to use his other side. So maybe it isn't so far fetched. I hadn't noticed it but Dermie brought it up as soon as his name was mentioned.
  20. Good read. I don't know why Buckley didn't play against Blues.
  21. I heard most of it pretty well. Was asked about Robbo, said he would have to sit down this week and talk to club people about current players and where they are at. Said he wanted to chat to Riley to see what he wanted to do. Said he wants to be a teaching coach. Draft best available player. Start pre-season asap. Is really happy to be at Melbourne. Didn't say they really needed to just re-build. Wants players in dif postions. Doesn't know of a major thing he must fix, more of a broad view at the list. On a personal note. Has a wife named Karen and two kids who both love footy.
  22. 6 - TJ 5 - Robbo 4 - Jones 3 - Miller 2 - Dunn 1 - Brown, Bizzel and Byron.
  23. You say that like Carrol is an old man. Johnstone is worth keeping purely knowing what he can do. I remember the year he finished top 10 in the brownlow. If he could string that together again he is one of the best in the competition. We would be embarressed if we traded him, he is 26 and next season should be the best we will see from him, a new coach will spark him with a firm kick in the arse.
