another Eddie stab at Melbourne: "As long as they know ... this is not Melbourne where you can just walk in and steal the players. If you do this at Collingwood, good luck" I think we should make it our mission to walk in and steal Pendles or any other Collingwood player for that matter!

Haha Gippsland Falcons use the round ball and haven't been anything bigger than a local team in over a decade. Think you might have meant Gippsland Power.

Matt 'Goose' McGuire was all over it a few years ago and was more of a hack than Harry O

I've noticed this year that against the younger sides (put talent completely aside) we have been quite competitive against sides with a few older blokes (once again despite how good or bad they may be) we have struggled with the pressure, pound for pound talent wise we are as good as most. We are not yet strong enough or developed enough to apply pressure to the bigger bodied teams.

Completely agree, not worth it at the moment, very good played but not that sort of money! I have no doubts in 2-3 years he will be worth it, what could be worth doing is a 4 year deal and I'm sure the guru's of the world could front load his contract ie so it averages out at 5-600k per year over the 4 years but pay him more over the next couple whilst we have the room to move... Not sure if that works.

Lets hope he stays, realistically Melbourne can offer him around 600-650k per year, if GWS are doubling that and offering a 6 year contract then ask yourself, what would you do? I would be uncomfortable offering a contract of that length in our game. No amount of threads will influence what happens, ride it out and time will tell.

Truth hurts I guess...

Does not have to be like Egan. Clint McKay of Victorian and Australian cricket fame has the same injury which was done earlier in the year and he has been back running again and is expected to be fine and I think fast bowlers put a lot more pressure through their feet then footballers in terms of impact. Its a slow rehab process because as soon as you get some pain you have to stop running and rest again.

I think we have a bigger issue then this, its sustainable forward pressure, we had Davey, since we have had Jurrah and Wonna and watching the last few weeks, Jurrah's chasing out of the forward line has become a little tokenistic and I have not noticed Wonna much with the pressure and chasing side of things either... Jurrah and Davey can both be extremely exciting players but when you see them not wanting to work hard and chase they can also be our most frustrating. They need a good rocket.

People who think things are bad now have some respect for the good that he has done, if not for Bailey Simon Godfrey would still be running around... He had the balls to make some calls on many Melbourne players, to date I think he has done a great job in getting together a list that might have some potential... Is he the man for the job going forward, im not so confident. He can set all the game plans he like when your senior players are not prepared to work and run hard your not going to win that doesnt matter what level or team you play for!

Like your theory and at least offering an alternative however Davey to the forward line 5 years ago good move, he plays footy now like he is above the hard running and chasing, when was the last time he chased and tackled? Tapscott up forward is another good move but we lose to much hardness from the backline which we desperately need at the moment. Our problem is getting it out of the backline so we need good kicks to be able to use the footy, the setup isn't bad now but we dont leave players forward of the ball to kick to and we move it to slow and allow them to setup a zone, we don't switch it quick enough...

Firstly, haven't been interested in any of this enough to make me read the 23 pages this is now up to. complete waste of everyone's time. The mail I have, reliable source (yes many of you will sook that your not getting a name, deal with it) is that he has no intentions of heading to GWS and that he will sign with Melbourne at the end of the year as has always been the plan. Makes sense much like anyone else would, if GWS were not in the picture nothing would be made of it. Think of the publicity his management will receive all year, its a win for everyone really. we get him, he gets good coin, manager gets new clients. Secondly if my mail were wrong and he was a certainty to head to GWS, we can't do anything about it so not worth discussing or feeding the media frenzy with.

From my knowledge Reebok as a company is an absolute nightmare to deal with. New Balance are fantastic to deal with. This is coming from owners of sporting stores.

Can I put some good news about the membership department on here? Firstly, I pay by installments and pay for my members, fathers membership and offcourse a pet membership and do not get slugged the $10 fee. Secondly, I get married in Feb and have been dragging the mrs away from the dons for the last 6 years and decided as a gift to her on the wedding day I will get a melb membership delivered with flowers. When I spoke to the girl in the membership department she said they were happy to send a card with the membership basically congratulating her on the wedding and welcoming her to the Melbourne Family. I think this is a great gift idea (biased) but very please the club is willing to help out!
